Nice reset job! Gretsch seemed to like putting a screw in their neck to body joins, I had a 1957 Jet which had one. I can only think that they relied on the screw to help hold the joint together whilst the glue dried . I’ve got a 2002 Japanese built Country Classic which doesn’t seem to have a screw in the joint, neither do any of the Chinese and Korean built Gretsch guitars I own.

The wrought on the binding of my 68 is enough to make you cry. The neck is still perfect but already had a refret. Remove the plastic guard on the buckle pad. That's what's causing the green embers.

New knobs ? Clean the existing hardware on soft buffing wheel surely

Scotty, in the video you say you can get an excellent condition country gent for the cost of front and back full binding replacement (2 x 350). I’m interested. Where do you see them at that number?

That was years ago on Reverb.
Figuring it cost 2K to do a rebind and refret

End of the job is a really "Gretschy" nice sounding guitar, does not appear like a '62 to me however but rather a late '64 or early '65. Does it matter? Intrinsically? Naw... Otherwise? In a way I guess... just not the same year. 💐

It looks late 66-early 67 to me with the single mute.

The neck bolt cover seems like a shit way to do it. Some type of removable cover instead of glue and plug. Why???

Maybe they didn't want any Tom Dick or Harry messing about with the neck..
