Dropping supplies to troops in Afghanistan. I originally had this video with Rage Against The Machine playing in the background, but TH-cam took it out.
Hey there Pathfinders. I show this clip to my USO volunteers and they are amazed at the fantastic work you men and women did during our deployment. It totally motivates my volunteers to see how they are indirectly supporting you then, now, and in the future. Keep being awesome!
The chute failed to deploy and the load went out the plane and straight into the ground (2:11). Its very hard to see, but if you look right before the impact you can see the load in the air and the long this failed chute above it...looks like a thin cigar, so hard to see.
I also saw something hit the dirt at 2:11. Is this the bottom of the pallet that's designed to be discarded or did something get destroyed? Either way, I'm impressed with the accuracy, I'd guess a ground speed of about 250 - 300 knots. Dropped just outside of that hamlet. EDIT: 2:11 is played back in slow motion at 2:56. No chute or did something else come apart?
Thanks! I'm on a little netbook, I'll need to take another look on the bigger screen later. Too bad you lost the audio, I'd guess the band would have supported you using their music.

I didnt know one of the pallet chutes failed til i read your comment here and watched the video again 2:11 and saw the impact and dust. You think the cardboard layer saved that there cargo lol j/k
How many lives were saved or not injured by doing a Airdrop, instead of a Combat Logistic Patrol? I don't know but I bet a few. Well done to a highly skilled crew all, Pilots, Navigators, Cargo Handlers and Parachute Packers to name a few.
You're right, the Taliban/Al Queda was a peaceful alternative religious group, not a religious police state with vastly more human rights atrocities than the subject of Killing in the Name (The LA Riots/Police abuses).

Retired Union Movement Officer from B Co. 82nd Sig Bn. Didn't think that I would miss it!
Great stuff-thx for sharing!
Very Cool. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chief.
Thanks Davis!
Sweet vid Stray.
Thanks for the support!! I'm glad they like the video.
This was sick
it looks a lot like a valley that spent some quality time in. It was in Zabul OEF 2011-2012.

awesome! Looks like one hit the ground without deploying though after they all are dropped you can see what looks like an impact of some kind
One pallet didn't make it. Look at the bottom of the screen at 2:56.
well-spotted!
That's what I thought I seen also

@ Charles - We don't use FOB names, we use DZ (drop zone) names. Those names are classified in the AOR.

wow I miss those days
Amazing that you don't get the irony of you playing RATM as an occupying imperial force.
What impacts the ground after the airdrop? You can see the sand disturbed, I didn't notice any chutes fail. Bottom of the frame at 2:11. Thanks!
thats fricken awesome.
good eye. I have packed thousands or parachutes for people...maybe the air force should hire me...lol!
Oops! Lost two. One fell from the chute and the other just plummeted with a collapsed chute.
that looks sweet
then again, everything looks alike out there.

It appears to have been the last one to the left it went inverted and then snapped.
And this is why the U.S Air Force chooses Boeing
I agree. Vimeo let me post the vid with RATM music.

is it the Balla Murghab Vally (BMG) in Badghis province, northwest Afghanistan?
I don't know and if I did, I wouldn't and I couldn't say. Have a nice day.
mil5606 Oh, I see. thanks anyway.
Its amazing that you THINK i dont get the irony.
今のウクライナでもピストン輸送でジャンジャンこういう物資投下輸送をリビウ近郊にしているんだろうな~という光景!"(-""-;🇺🇦
hey man, do you remember what FOB you guys were dropping on?
starting at 1:41
it normally takes 8 kills to get one of these
besides... he just works for the imperial occupying force.
question... is this really a halo drop... none of the crew appears to be on O2...
--Mike
explosion on 2:11?
WOW...... all that for 1100 gallons of fuel.
holly shit
Who rigs the pallet?
Army riggers.
After I take a bong hit
is this from Rambo3 ?
No. It’s from my camera.

I hope they recovered or destroyed one that hit ground lol
