When using your brush, make x or cross hatch strokes. You will know the finish is perfect, if the walls feel like suede. Make sure that your paint helpers all use the same painting technique that you use. It makes a big difference when the light bounces off the walls. Don’t feel overwhelmed. It’s a learning curve. You have got this. Take your time and conserve your cash. Your first instinct is always spot on, so don’t overthink a project and you won’t overspend.

If you want the sign as an added level deterance for intruders, put up a generic unbranded sign

Back in the mid 90's I pretty much did the same technique on my walls, but I just used regular paint in 2 different shades. I ended up adding some water to the darker color, then I scrunched up an old wash cloth & sorta "washed" the walls w it. It turned out great & I just loved it. The hay bales gave me such a laugh....they DO look like hay!!! This room is going to be so beautiful. Btw~I had picked up that magazine in a store about 2 weeks ago and didn't realize you were featured in it until I started thumbing through it and THERE YOU WERE !! I was so pleased to see your talent given the praise it deserves. Looking forward to all the beautiful transformations to come in this house !!

4 pages in a magazine!!! That’s impressive and not 1 but 2 AD features with you making furniture pieces! I don’t believe you have ever just settled for your first paint color on a wall. You have a style in mind and go for it and that is why you are so successful and in the magazine. Kuddos on your determination!

"Who's Mika?" 🤣That was so cute! But seriously, I can't believe you are going to paint that enormous room with a paintbrush. I can feel the pain in my arm! I know it will be gorgeous. And I love the new rug. It is unusual and what a great buy!

Hi Drew. I first learned about you and your lonefox brand when I purchased the Cottage Style magazine (fall 2022). Loved the article and photos and design decor of your apartment. I am now obsessed with your TH-cam channel. You have such high energy. Engaging personality and so enthusiastic about your home makeovers and design passions. I'm not as familiar with instagram so i'm trying to learn how to navigate. PS Just in case you want to know your audience demographics (I'm in my early 70's.

Hi Drew, congratulations on the magazine, I'll keep an eye out and see if it's sold in the UK.
Regards to your paint because you've uneven wall a flat colour will never look good ) only on perfect plaster walls) it's like hairdressing you should always go with the hair root and not against them, so the more texture you put on the less likely you'll notice the uneven texture on the walls to begin with,( we've a cottage that dates back to 1843 and downstairs ostriches walls are lime so we have lots of texture.)
Wishing you all the very best xxx

Love your channel so much. Better than HGTV? Totally get your upgraded, textury lime wash vision for your grand house. Random thought, I have used various metallic paints in places like bathroom and dining area. Sounds weird, but I love it so much. Pittsburg makes metallics in lots of colors. (Not saying in your LR, but maybe somewhere?).

From your last video, I still think you should enlarge the arch going into the breakfast nook to make the kitchen look more prominent. Make it a 1/2 wall arch and keep the built-in drawers.

Please try again to achieve the look you were going for. Can't wait to get a copy of the magazine!! CONGRATULATIONS on it as you deserve all the accolades you can get as you are SUPER TALENTED!!

I almost bought that magazine last week. I love it. I will make sure it is the right issue before I get it. I live in a wooden (unfinished wood) one room aframe house. Only painted room is bathroom and the cabinets in the kitchen need more paint. Easy peasy for an older person with bad shoulders. Love your videos. You have an amazing imagination.

I had my walls textured and then painted over them with a BM flat paint. The texture is subtle, but definitely adds dimension to the room. That NKA for taking us on your home remodeling and decorating journey. You can never go wrong with an historic home.
