I disagree. Because of the movement, Citizen's titanium barnacle is the best. The 9xxx series movement inside the case destroys Seiko's 6r35.

I have this watch and it's a keeper. Usually I'm not a big fan of aftermarket bracelets, but I picked up the Uncle Seiko/Straps jubilee mainly just to mix it up and it's pretty good if you like that kind of look. The clasp is way smaller too, but not so light that it completely throws off the balance of the watch.

I have the Japanese version as well. It’s been running consistently at +1-2 seconds/day. Totally agree in the clasp. Had the same criticism so thank you for the clasp recommendation! Will look into that

If only??! The absolutely should, especially for the price they charge! The whole reason of a watch is that it's meant to keep time, as accurately as it's possible, it's a tool, not only to look good on your wrist. I can't believe they ruin such a lovely watch by putting a poor movement in it. It's like having a Ferrari with a 2 stroke engine under the hood!!!

I believe the original 64mas in the 60's were mfg by two competing divisions/factories within seiko and later one if the two became dedicated for international release and the other JDM.

My OCD wouldn’t handle this well, an aftermarket bracelet wouldn’t match the darker Diashield coating on the watch. I also have the SBDC101, I actually like the bracelet quite well. Endlinks aren’t a perfect fit and I could do without the useless diver extension, but it’s the best stock Seiko bracelet I’ve ever seen (granted that’s not the highest bar). The darker color matching is WAY more important to me.

@@simonwood5587 accuracy loss isn't limited to 6R movement, it's quite common with watches that give you more than standard 41 hours power reserve. Take Tissots popular PRX powermatic 80, a whopping 80 hr power reserve but with shitty accuracy. The worst part is the prx can't be regulated. You have to send it back to Tissot

Nothing against Steeldive (I own 2 SD1953) but the SD1982 25000M is a beast of a watch at 46mm x 22mm thick. I'd say check out the SD1962 62MAS which is more of a direct comparison to the SPB143 in this video at a fraction of the price ($130). You basically get all the same features, sapphire crystal, Seiko/TNI NH35 automatic movement, excellent lume, drilled lugs, etc. Whether the Steeldives are actually water resistant to their rating, who knows. SD1962 might be my next purchase. Awesome looking watch. I would argue the SD1953 (sub homage) and SD1972 (turtle homage) are the best bang for your buck no question (usually $55) unless you need a true ISO certified dive watch. Obviously Citizen Promaster divers come to mind for budget divers.
