Hi Stella, thanks for watching the video! the footage on 1:03 on my video is from the viewpoint at the Museum der Moderne in Salzburg. It was snowing on the day we went there so we were the only people visiting the viewpoint that day. This is actually the best thing about winter, you get to skip the crowds! I hope you have a fantastic time next year in Austria, enjoy it!

@@StellaAngelita Hi Stella, I think road closures will depend on weather conditions, but we personally did not have any problems, all roads were open. It was a very easy and smooth drive from Salzburg to Hallsttat. There are a few parking lots in Hallstatt and we used one of them, look up on google under "Short Term parking Hallstatt", that's where we parked. We paid a daily rate to park there, I don't remember how much though.
Wonderful video! I am heading to Salzburg for 6 days in Early January to watch one of the ski jumping competitions & explore Salzburg again. My biggest concern is how well are the sidewalks cleared of snow.

The snow was unpredictable in Salzburg in January, on the first day I arrived there was no snow at all, then on the next morning when I woke up it was snowing a lot and the whole city was covered in snow. We were concerned about the snow as well because we hired a car to drive to Hallstatt, but it was fine. The best thing about January is that the city is empty and you will get to see a lot without the crowds. Let me know if you still have any questions :)
I spent a day in Salzburg in Oct 2007, not a lot of tourists then either. Is there anywhere else you wanted to visit around Salzburg (not in town, but in the villages)? I will have 2 days in Bischofshofen too.
I think I managed to see everything I wanted in the time I had there, Salzburg is small, 2 days is enough to see everything I think. I recommend going to Hallstatt though if you haven't been, you can go by bus, or you can rent a car, its really nice and you need a day to explore there.
