I'm a big fan of Wind Archer, especially if you want a bowman since none were on the list. Pretty decent mobbing and insane survivability with bossing, downside being not a great burst but has really consistent damage that is still nice on early bosses. Idk how good it is for new age but up to 250 it felt pretty nice to train in destiny. Admittedly 1-200 training was pain but that didn't last too long at least.
I love how there's basically no bad option for characters to play. If there's a specific gameplay style you want, there's probably a character that can perfectly provide it. For example, I settled on Zero for their amazing mobility options, insane survivability due to having both shields and constantly swapping health bars to heal, and active gameplay that involves multiple attacks, but not nearly as rapidly as something like Cadena. Being able to bind an enemy for 30 seconds straight for a party is also a funny bonus even if it isn't always the best option.
If you are brand new to maple with little or no legion or link and you are even somewhat interested in dawn warrior, it is the best pick to get you started hands down

Started off as Bishop and even though I'm switching to FP, the amount of benefits early on are insane. Having real Holy Symbol and practically afk training are insane on the 200-260 journey. Mid solo bosser dps-wise early on but having door and shell are truly great for learning the bosses starting off too. Still holding off on switching just because of HS
ps even though you really need 6k-8k legion, it's not that bad considering that bish ied and crit rate are astronomical for like no good reason. so you can honestly hold off on at least 3 of the 210 links for what feels like forever
@@chocofrisbees the biggest setback for maining bishop is the requirement of Buff Duration. Which is why he mentioned legion needing to be 8k+ for it to truly shine. Infinity is such a broken skill that you would want it as close to 100% uptime as possible and legion is a factor in getting it there.
But yes, Bishop's IED and CRR requirements are much lower than the avg class.
I'm going to main Nightwalker, was my main in Elysium now I started on reboot and getting fun with buccs while waiting for the hyper burning

I'd like to mention two classes I've had really good experiences with.
1: wind archer. It's a very easy bosser and generally an easy to learn class, with very good damage overall and great survivability after 5th job. The burst isn't great, but you have really good dpm without any real downtime. The crystal skill also taunts some bosses trivializing certain phases of a few very important ones like gollux.
2: paladin. Not a very great mobber, and both damage and burst are nothing to write about either, but if you are a patient player that doesn't mind taking time to kill bosses, this is a virtually unkillable class that will be able to facetank most attack with almost 100% uptime. Only a few attacks will be able to kill you through your passive damage reduction, those like chaos vellum's laser. On top of your passive survivability you have a hyperskill that makes you invincible for up to 30 seconds, which you can deactivate manually for a substancial cooldown reduction, making it quite versatile. You also have decent party synergy with a bunch of support skills. It's basically maplestory in easy mode. A slow easy mode.

Honestly nothing to argue here. To add for DW. Has built in bind, a reactionary and a placeable for mobbing on top of fountain. The kit is up there with hero and DS. Def the best class in the game.

Im torn between bucc and bishop. On one side I'm kinda worried about high level farming on bucc with LotD even after all changes in new age (having to use Hook Bomber which is mediocre). On other side, Bishop is probably on top of the classes to nerf, and nerfing her damage worries me.
Nice to include Bishop, a lot of people don't think it's good early game because you need high legion, but that's only for solo bossing damage. Bishop is a great mobber with high crit rate for early game, can speed through mid game by offering support to parties and you'll get your gear pieces fast if you do these party bosses, and you get extra EXP from real HS. Broken af for a new player..... BUT, yeah, Dawn Warrior is like MapleStory at a 3rd grade level :)

It is pretty weak though for solo bossing (maybe the weakest class in the early game) so I would caution players you need to gear it properly and better than the rest of your party, grind for that meso.
Solo bossing is pretty irrelevant though when a server starts fresh, unless you're doing a solo progression challenge. Assuming you do Reboot server, getting to 5% damage is hella easy even as a bishop. @@anonymousl5150

@@anonymousl5150 For early solo bossing its not that bad. The class has great survivability, high crr, good IED/IED debuffs and is only really lacking in that early game dmg but still has access to double infinity for decent burst/dps.
There are plenty of classes that struggle a lot on IED and CRR early that you are forced to work on legion before progressing in bosses while Bishop has the option to skip things like Lumi and Phantom link and can also focus their legion blocks more into BD, CRD and Buff Duration.

Think this has helped me decide on Bishop! I DO like the #1 and #3 choices too though... maybe I could level them also and then get myself a higher legion to improve my Bishop? Win-win :D

I have been struggling to decide which class I want to hyper burn as I came back recently. I think I will just stick with NW. although the farming can be sweaty, I do enjoy what it has to offer. I remember wanting to try DW, but that just seems too boring.
Tbh I plan on hyper burning NW next instead of Dawn warrior because I feel like that class is too good and will be nerfed to the ground soon
I haven’t played maplestory in over 15 years but man how things have changed. I’m not sure if the video clips are from a hacked server or if they are just really stacked on their stats and skills but this was borderline insane. It look like they each character was just flash jumping around the map while dealing millions of damage to each enemy. I remember when I got so excited that my dragon knight was able to hit over 10k consistently. That’s a joke compared to how it is now. Every character is basically goku

I get these are the strongest but can u do like top strongest of each genre of characters? Like nova, flora, etc. it’s boring seeing explorer and explorer everytime
I just started 1 week ago and while I was waiting for the next burning tomorrow I was leveling some link skills alts till lv 141. Now I'm almost legion 1k, the thing is, I was thinking about creating my main as mage F/P, Bishop, Adele or Dawn Warrior, what do you recommend? Tbh I liked the first 3 more than DW, also, I heard that DW is a really ping reliant class and I'm usually playing with 250-300 ping.
As for Mage F/P and Bishop, I heard that they require a lot of legion, so not sure if I should still go for one of them.
Adele I don't know much, just that for bosses you need to manage your swords or something like that.
Any help? Suggestions? About your video, I saw you saying of Nightwalker, but I thought those shuriken classes requires a lot of investment, is that wrong?

nah u got it mixed up, shuriken classes requiring lots of investment just isnt a thing. Everything else you said was kinda right, it's hard to just say pick one but ask yourself which you think looks coolest, and i'd go with that. The funding will always come if you just play

DA is very strong , its not popular because its a weird class to play with hp being its main stat but its very strong and its 6th job is pretty insane.

What about funding and getting new items? I stopped playing Big bang which was so many years ago, i remember you needed to spent money to actually be good at the game, or get stuck with the same old weapons or having to go to places and grind for weapons.

i think zero best new class to start, it has alot of i frame skill, free weapon as they progress and not needing to keep replacing the weapon as they progress help a lot especially to new player. zero also has good mobility and mobbing (depend on map) easy learning curve and not as boring as 1 button press class
I havent played this game since I was 10yrs old, holy! over 20yrs ago!! How are the explorers in this version of maplestory.
I had to look up the difference between these reboot servers and regular servers because I learned that this whole "Big Bang" thing happened and Maplestory servers are completely different now. Dawn Warrior seems like good pick for me because I played Warrior back when I was in Grade 5 lol... I also played Dual Blades when it first came out, but now theres like 15 classes! Its crazy.
There are actually over 50 haha. I'm not a constant player, but I'd say Exploreres are in a good shape right now. I'm maining a lightning - ice wizard right now, gotta admit im having fun :)

Hero high damage but he feel slow, if you don’t have AS +1 , good luck trying to fight bosses that have bunch of one shot, and deal with Damien floating in the air.

Pre-big bang returning player new account on Reboot. Between the four characters I’ve made so far, I find Kain the easiest and natural. Even having to use Possession every 2 seconds. I also made a Bucc, DW, and I/L. Just my two cents.

An honorablemention should be db, survivability is insane, and super noobfriendly for mobbing even post 260. Even tho u will «lose» dmg for not picking shad or NL. If u dont have hands, go db😅

Ok, I'm clearly missing something with my Nightwalker. I die constantly (with a potted pet) and I'm not sure why. It's currently sitting at level 187 in Burning World and I've pretty much given up on it. What am I missing?

Make sure you have your toggle skills on every time you login, and survivability for thief classes in general sucks before 200. After 200 when you get your arcane symbols those maps are kind of impossible to die in unless you afk since the mobs do no damage
was having this same issue pre 200 tbh.. 170-200 was rough but once u hit 200, add hyperstats to arcane power and most mobs will only do 1 dmg in arcane river. Tbh tho... shadow bite farming will only be good later when you're actually strong enough to one shot so its still a struggle even with 5th job
I was in between DW and NW and I was tempted by NW bc of how good shadow bite farming looked.. If I was to do it again I would go DW tbh

I would like to note that Mihile is braindead too. RG timing is super easy now making bosses a joke if you have literally any knowledge of what's coming. I do understand why it's not on the list as it's not a super great mobber (though it's still easymode if on smaller maps lol) and for some reason most people don't like the playstyle.
Since i already have a 235 shadower, i guess it would be a waste to use the burn on that. DW seems kinda boring compared to shadower, so i guess i'll try NW unless you have a better suggestion.
very biased but I find shad to be the most fun class in the game. DW in comparison is extremely boring.

Fire/Poison could actually exist in a top 10 list ever since the Explorer rework, they've been allowed to become a bit of a lazy mobbing class themselves which is rather nice.
FP could easily exist in the top #1 spot as long as you're okay with needing hands & legion to play the class.
The only weakness FP really had was Lucid P3 while liberating, and the origin skill doesn't completely get rid of it. But it makes it a lot easier to get to the point where you can do it.
I have actually been really interested in making a F/P Mage because they look super cool to me but I have been reading a lot that they need an insane amount of nodestones to truly shine so I am second guessing myself atm
@@skadi9677 You only need 5 skills boosted up to midgame, the rest are for little bit of optimization. In New Age, slotting these will also be really easy (extra slots) and its node pool isn't even bad. The real issue is it needs high legion and good inner abilities to compensate for low ied, crit rate, buff duration.
We spend a 1000 hours of farming to boss only for 1-2 hours a week. I personally believe that Lara is the responsible recommendation.

Yea, always the same boring classes. Bring some fresh and good beggining friendly classes like marksman, battle mage, Lara, Adele, I/L, wind Archer, Lumi and so many others
It’s because these classes are objectively easier and perform better than the ones you mentioned. Lara has a lot of micro managing with your veins. Adele micro managing with sword energy and constantly having to weave in cleaves and plummeting for optimal damage. IL had infinity timing, burst order and needing to position well while bursting with lightning orb. Okay wind archer is brain dead but the other classes are stronger. Lumi also has some tight timings with freuds for example.
It’s not about trying to keep things fresh, I’m trying to make a list that’s objective. Blame nexon for always keeping the same classes so strong
