- It is time for a post Savior Maplestory Class tier list! This list is based on my own opinion of every class and I base my ranking on a class's grinding, bossing and how difficult they are to play. So this is not based on any dpm list just on my own experience with playing all classes.

Put Whale Hunter in D tier since it isn't viable without very heavy funding, and nobody that plays WH actually likes it.

I like his content but I have to agree, doesn't make much sense. For example, DS below Pally and IL? The class is absolutely cracked in both kit and dmg and is stupid simple, it should be at least S tier, SS being more likely

"Buff Angelic Buster" is objectively the correct position.

AB has been in QoL jail for the past like… 7 years or so. They’ve largely only received minor buffs just to keep up and are seriously behind. My guess is that they were planned for a rework for a while but it kept getting pushed back, until now where 6th job takes priority.
Not a bad list but it’s really hard to rank classes on an overall scale, the gap between a 220-230 boss mule vs main is just too large in maplestory.
I'm burning Illium and I think you are absolutely right in saying that it is a super powerful class. What I would say though is that battery management really isn't as bad as people think. You can create a mirrorimage of the battery, which effectively means you have 2 batteries out at once and therefore don't really have to move them. Couple that with your crystal gates + erda shower, you can full clear the biggest maps in the game with very little effort. I've been surprised at how strong it is, and would highly recommend people to give it a try, especially since the nodes are very straightforward as you mentioned.
I saw batteries and long text of how to use. It's what people drive away from the class. I tried it and I hate it. Not saying it's bad. I main a phantom and it's just completely different.
Im burning illium as well and got very surprised byvhow good it is with very little funding. As you said as well, battery management is super easy when you have your crystal Gates. I find it almost redundant as well to manually place your battery once you gotten some nodes because you can easily clear everything with just shooting straight at the mobs with the bouncing crystal. Funded illium doesnt even need to care about battery management 😅 Super lazy and fun class, SS tier for me
@@BravoBrakas yeah with node funding you can basically ignore the battery because the javelin + bounces oneshot. Really crazy class.
If you're not on perfect ping it can get annoying at times. Sometimes moving the ball doesnt register properly, or sometimes flying doesnt register properly or you dont drop when you actually let go of the key. Ball management can also be annoying sometimes with all the visual clutter, like Orianna in league of legends when you lose track of the ball and ult the air.
Anyway those are just minor problems but ultimately illium has a unique playstyle that you have to like to enjoy. Just like Mihile who is indisputably a busted class, being literally immune 2/3 of the time, but the playstyle is unique and not for everyone
I love Illium and seeing more people playing him. i never had any issue with it, but then again i picked him up first when i came back to maple so i got used to that gameplay first.

As someone who's played both demons extensively, I'd easily rate DA higher than Slayer, in terms of both mobbing and bossing damage output.
The only downside to Avenger is no real s, however they have constant damage reduction and consistent healing which allows them to leverage ruin force shield way better than Slayer.
I appreciate that you preface the video by saying you've got no end game experience with most of the classes and it's your tier list so of course you may rate the classes as you want, but it just irks me a bit to see Mihile at SS while DA is B tier. And then people go and say the class is unpopular, or that it needs a rework which it's already gotten, or worse that it should be deleted/removed. It just feels like these tiers lists are based more on popularity than how good classes actually are.
Anyway I apologize for the small rant. I genuinely enjoy these videos even though I may not give off that impression and while I agree with a huge part of the tier list, it would still be really interesting to watch a video or a series of videos where you possibly interview end game players and then do a tier list or per class guide based off their experience with their main class.
Hey man, i wanna main a DA, for my first main (and bossing), but im have no founds, so it's a solid choice to the first boss unfunded character?
@@XaropinhoTheRat Yes, it's regarded as one of the best unfunded classes because it has high base dmg and is the highest IED+PDR reduction class in the game. The only issue is low crit chance, which can be fixed with legion/links.
Demon Avenger feels much better with our 160 hyper buff, it pretty much 1-shots everything every 8 sec without compromising mobility. The thing is our basic kit feels "old", attacking with a 3rd job skill always felt odd to me, I would much rather have 1 skill that upgrades until 4th job used for bossing/mobbing like dawn warrior, plus our 5ths aren't as flashy/simple to use as other classes.

Main is Drk and im currently hyperburning a Bowmaster as a bossing mule. Both are pretty fun but man, the bowmaster is like making me question where all that damage is coming from because its deleting mobs easily with just the event equips alone. Cant wait to move worlds and give her the abso/cra gear later on

I'm burning a Dawn Warrior and, oh boy. I'm farming mobs 20 levels higher than me and it's 1-2 shots at most with the event equips and no mesos spent. Will surely try burning a BM.
I also hyperburned my bowmaster, the 5th job skills are kinda boring but really good, you can always keep at least one active at all times or pop all of them once and melt bosses
All I will say about Xenon is that he really isnt as complicated as it might seem at first glance. The node requirements only matter for end game bossing. You can get away with 1 trio for a long time. The grinding on the class can be very lazy and the bossing is really nice. Has a short cooldown , personal bind, great burst, amazing mobility, AND great DPM. My only issue is the lack of a GOOD up-jump. You have to use your 2nd job skill as an upjump, but it doesn't go very high.

Getting good stats is really hard though, much more difficult than other classes
i find the burst hard, to hold 1 button while buffing and to do the combo where when you release you have to go beam dance
You overhyped bow master by putting it s-tier lol, just because it’s the easiest and cheapest boss mule doesn’t mean it’s a cracked class, just an ez class to main or mule
Great tier list coppersan! Id personally put illium in ss tier though since its actually a lot easier to play than people expect and the dmg is absolutely cracked

A tier for cannoneer is fair, except you forgot to consider the monkey factor. Monkeys should immediately bump it up by a tier or 2
Kanna being B tier is so heart breaking. Kishin loss made me quit at 273
I find Kanna is basically the same even after Kishin nerf, removing spawn enhancement exchange for 10% exp only.
Totally the same grind.
I tried Kanna before and still the same grind and meso grind.

What really killed I/L for me was removing the Jump/Chain lightning method a few patches ago. Before that I could jump and attack. Now its feels so clunky and unfluent that I completely dropped that class. Don't know why they allways change stuff I really like.
I think you're missing two big factors when it comes to unpopular classes - utility and visuals.
I say no one plays Thunderbreaker because why would they if there's Buccaneer that's better in every regard?
If TBs had superior party skills (and not other way around) many more would pick them up.
Because the playstyle looks fun. But if your damage is not topping the charts, you want your class to bring something else to the table, like a high impact party buff.
And another point is style points. Maple is all about visuals.
I like edgy classes and therefore Lara could be triple S and I wouldn't go anywhere near it.
Some classes are very polarizing in that regard, and just won't be picked up by smaller or larger groups of players on principle.

Hey I am a new maplestory player.
Would I struggle to do solo bossing as a Bishop? I don't really know how to find groups and stuff and like going at my own pace but I think the aesthetic of the bishop (and the dragon summon) really cool.
You will not. Bishop is a good bosser
Demon Avenger deserves to be at least a tier higher imo. It's a slow burn class that doesnt feel good until 160, and then really really starts to shine in 5th job. It has multiple fmas, a skill similar to buccs spinning mobbing skill, and an offensive version of pally's invulnerability skill. The first 200 levels arent easy for sure, but their kit is so backloaded that it makes it worth imo
I’m burning DA. Trained from 202 and Made it to 235 in only yesterday’s sunny Sunday. That’s how fun it was to play.

I recently came back after years for this burning event. I made an Adele and got her to 202 and am not sure I like her all that much. Thinking about deleting her so I can Hyper Burn a Dawn Warrior instead. (Though it'd suck to lose her +10% Dmg Link Skill) But I'd rather Hyper Burn and main a different class.

I'm gonna say rhis; i'm burning mercedes and i deeply regret it , the buffs are not relevant, i hated 1-210 back when i made it for legion, i made a new one for hyper and it's 220 now , i hope to get it to 250 passively, because the kit does not work well, the maps are not made for her , every platform is a pain so it is harder to find a good training map, do not play mercedes exept if you're really into the character playstyle
On the contrary I fucking love playing merc now. The upjump and reducing jump req saved this class. Tbh though you gotta like the combo lifestyle obviously.

Lumi is SS tier for me. Never felt like it's that good but I am convinced after leveling to 240. Out of this world mobbing and really good burst window that basically comes every 30secs or less is freaking amazing.
unfortunately our burst isn't the best D: but everything else is uber nice. hopefully 6th job will increase our dpm or giga boost our burst.

The Resistance classes _need_ a remaster/revamp. Explorers and Cygnus Knights already received their revamp and it's time for Resistance to get one too. As a Battle Mage main, I just feel that there's no love for Resistance for all these years. The fact that _most_ of the Resistance classes are in B tier is just sad. _Only_ Demon Slayer and Blaster are in A tier and none in S or SS. Not just Resistance to be honest. Some of the Heroes as well as Kaiser and Angelic Buster are also left out.
i still think Demon Slayer is S tier, their crit and ied is crazy
Not to mention he's one of those classes that will only get buffed in the future bc he's not so good in kms.

Paladin player here. I'd like to preface everything I'm about to say by stating that I'm a scrub, and I've never gotten past a boss harder than Will. So please take everything I'm about to say with a truck of salt.
Paladin is, in my opinion, VERY, VERY overrated. Yes, we're probably the best unfunded mobbing warrior class. We have heaven's hammer, sure, but heroes have something very similar (sword smash thing, 10 seconds cd, I didn't bother to check its name). We are only slightly superior in that we have two hammers we can throw around that hit a lot of enemies, and a skill that makes hammers spin around you (again, didn't bother to check their names). And if we want to talk about funded characters, I doubt any warrior class can beat adele in terms of farming.
When it comes to bossing, we're way out of our elements. Sure, we have TWO binds, we can revive a party member, and we have a debuff in threaten/noble demand (I still prefer to call it threaten), we're nowhere close to outputting damage to the likes of a hero, a dawn warrior, or hell, a dark knight. Don't even dream about getting close to adele.
Hero is, in my opinion, the best warrior class right now. Dawn Warrior is a close second. Adele's too expensive. I wish paladins received more buffs, as in active skills that we can buff ourselves with, like your Cry Valhalla. Maybe not something so overpowered, but one or two damage/attack buffs would've been great.

Hyper Burning a Shade right now in Reboot...had one ages ago in Scania. Loving the class for mobbing/bossing, with 5K ish legion it kills everything pretty fast with a nice and simple gameplay loop. Shade hype!
I think your being to nice putting Evan in B teir. The class feels so clunky to play especially at 5th job. I actively regret using them as my Tera burning this event. So many buttons, 5th job is basically 1 skill and it's just the fusion of 2 , because those 2 are so underwhelming. And mana spiral and that big spell are clunky and to much work to do. I personally thing C teir for Evan.
Skill issue. Hard to play doesn't mean it's a bad class. Should've done your research before burning it.
@@CDLightt I guess my biggest issue is the clunkiness of some of there skills. That's more bad game design than anything wrong with numbers or hit boxes.

Cadena is better than what Coppersan said, is just that she is hard to master
Cadena and Evan are definately not B, Kanna arguably too with her crazy support, mobbing and survivability.
i agree with this list, but, i have to say, for me Ark is the worst class in the game. i have an extreme dislike for it, i don't like its play style at all, everything else i can work with.
I would be interested in seeing a similar tier list for boss mules, specifically up to lomien, maybe with some details about what is considered to be a good spot in terms of power for such a mule.
As an aside, how much lower would blaster be placed if, like me, your hands don't work and you can't use bobbing and weaving and the relative animation cancels?

Underrating mech, smh. The funding requirement to mob is lower now without totems. All you need to do is SEVEN Shot with rock n shock.

I kinda feel like you should make a separate list just for bossing mules. Some classes are great as mains, but kinda terrible as mules.
NL is the best example probably. They are great as a main because they do a ton of damage all at once then can just focus on dodging, which is super handy for late-game bossing, but for early game bossing they're kinda garbage cause mules lean a lot more towards the DPM class side of things as you want to be able to clear like 10 bosses in a row in like 15mins and not wait 3 minutes between bosses to get your damage back otherwise you'll have a slow and painful clear or even occasionally fail a boss. For a main I'd definitely agree it's SS tier, but I'd honestly put in like C tier as a bossing mule.
Kinesis has gotta be the easiest mule I've ever made as well. While their kit isn't super late-game friendly with only 1 on a long cooldown and a bunch of skills that require the boss to sit still in them, they just somehow obliterate early game bosses. I was using my hyper burn prepped lv 202 kinesis to clear like 860m worth of bosses (everything below Cpap) with no boost nodes and a few pieces of gear un-upgraded in only a little slower time than my lv 230 fully boosted fully upgraded demon slayer. Idk if they just overbuffed their damage to compensate for a clunky kit or what but it just feels kinda busted compared to most of my other 8 mules.
Every class is great as a main, you should chose a MAIN based on a tierlist tho, you should pick a main based on what you like to do and how you like to play, a tierlist for smt so personal like MAIN is not what ppl should ask for
My only gripe is illium best class, SS for sure. Super mobile, crazy grinding and great bossing. Can’t beat a 9sec party either.
coming back to the game after like 13-15 years? played in 2007 - 2009. was looking at some lists and I think I've settled on dawn warrior as a main (hyper burn) shadower as like a 2nd main i guess (mega burn) night walker for something i understand is called bite farming? which is apparently op (mega) and either hoyoung or kanna for fun/mobbing (mega)
might do shadower as main idk yet
are these good choices currently?
also i read that if i delete a hyper/mega burn char i can make another just wanna make sure that's true?

tbh if wild hunters lost there separate mount skills/playstyle and would always be on the jaguar i would main them love the more mechanical theme, mechanic is too much of a hassle to play. blaster destroys your hand but good damage, thunderbreaker destroys your hand but meh damage so i can fully understand why people don't play it. still dont know what to main but got some contenders bishop, darkknight, a thief explorer (been enjoying all of them) hoyoung, zero or nightwalker. why did Nexon have to delete my main TWICE (technically dawn warrior didn't get deleted just butchered) former jett main :c

if was me i'd put Kanna in A Tier...only problem i have with her is her ridiculous amount of skills to handle at once...if can't master that then definetly b-c tier..Demon Avenger dps being awful i can agree with that XD despite their solid survivability......on the other hand not sure how Buccaneer(Viper(OG name b4 it drop in gms)) got SS tier....i been playing it but the dps is far cry from Demon Slayer//Mercedes......maybe with proper funding it does great ?......did i imagine it or was dawn warrior forgotten ?.........other classes i played which i can agree with you...Corsair,Thunderbreaker,Kaiser(dropped cause too clunky),....lastly Demon Slayer seem well rounded....tanky and solid dps(dunno if should stay A tier or go S tier to be honest XD).........unfortunetly my experience from 12 years ago with shadower(fourth job),night lord(third job)/walker is lost XD..same for Aran,Dual Bladers, F/P Mage(third job), Bishop(third job) is outdated :P
err quick note: i haven't reach 200 on any of my char yet....i'am bursting them to 150 so they can farm bosses for gear then i start next char to unlock more link skills(help massively to progress a char with more link unlocked)..my Mercedes currently sit at 197(thx to pre-savior events items(those extreme growth potion power her up to 195 from 15x XD)
