What an awesome vlog!! I am deciding whether or not to start my own business as I am now an empty nester after being an at home mom for 24 years (after a very successful career in sales). I had my own small business years ago when my kids were young! Your tips are awesome! I am leaning toward doing something with sewing & possibly something with cricut. Your acrylics are beautiful!! As I was going thru your video, I kept saying check as I have almost everything it would take to start a new biz!

And it's something I mostly only do in my spare time (when I'm not caring for my daughter). Etsy is a great place to sell but having your own website is great too! Especially since you already have so many things to start! You can do it, I promise!

Sorry I'm not able to help more with this!

I am now starting to buy things for acrylic sell and I just found you and I’m so happy I did you have amazing tips. Can you do one on you you do the actual orders online and the shipping like is there an app for it ?
I'm so glad I'm able to help! 🥰 When a customer places an order through my Shopify or Etsy I purchase the shipping label through either Shopify or Etsy! Both platforms are integrated with their own shipping platforms! It makes it super easy!

Hi there, great info thank you. :) what do you use to seal your acrylic paint? Also how do you prevent brush streaks when painting on acrylic?
Hi! Thank you so much for watching! I use Polycrylic clear gloss to seal the acrylic paint! I will typically paint a thicker layer of paint to prevent brush streaks and use a foam brush! I have a few videos of me showing how I paint and seal acrylics if you'd like to see it more in depth! ❤️
Love this video! I’m trying to decide between using Polycrylic and Brite Tone for sealing both paint and vinyl on my acrylic projects. Have you compared them before?

Cassie I need your help!! I started making my samples of the name announcement 5x7 signs and the sponge brush made it so streaky, so I went to a regular paint brush and it left lines! Then I had to do 3 coats and the back just looks sooooo tacky! Plus the 3 coats made it thicke and lifting where I had it taped off. 😢
I would recommend using a thicker paint and a foam brush (if you're not already). Folkart and Valspar brands is all I use! I hope this helps! ❤️
To give the customers the sharpie oil pens and command strips, do you charge extra? Also, do you have a recommendation of where to buy those sharpie pens in bulk? Thank you!
I do charge a little extra for that item if I am adding in the paint pens! I get them at Michaels! I always use the 20% off coupon so they're discounted! You can find them on Amazon, but they aren't always the best quality (sometimes dried out) according to the reviews. I have never bought from amazon but just wanted to mention to you in case you do!

Thank you! A rule of thumb is that you want to add up the cost of all of the materials you used to make the item, then factor in how much time it will take you to make it (which would be your hourly rate). I do that and then I also look around on Etsy to see what others are charging to be sure my rate is competitive! I hope this helps! ❤️
Do you place the permanent vinyl down on the cricut mat🤔 Do you need strong vinyl transfer tape? I am in the process of reorganizing my craft room, I do multiple crafts. Love your videos. Sue Cummings❤️
Thank you Sue! Yes, I do place the vinyl on the Cricut mat with the backing paper still attached! I have the transfer tape that I love linked in the description box if you'd like to see which one I use!
I was impressed by your account, I bought acrylic disks on Amazon, when the package arrived and I opened it, it turned out that the plastic was very thinnnn and had such a terrible chemical smell. I so upset, now I will return and order another brand. I don't know, take a chance and order from another supplier. Or buy using your recommendation link, but it's scary to take 100 pieces at once for $80.
I've had that happen as well with an order I placed on amazon! Some companies have acrylic pieces are great quality and some are not! Here is a link for a company on amazon in a smaller quantity / less cost that I have before! I hope this helps! ❤️

Do you need an llc or sell permit of any kind to start selling on Etsy or Shopify?
You don't need it to start but it is good to get it once you start making money! Having a sales tax permit in your state is important!
