Okay so as an avid descenders player clocking in about 4k hours, I have some concerns about this new game. Take them as you will, I am most likely not speaking on behalf of all descenders players, and other descenders players, feel free to give your thoughts on this as well, because I'm curious how common my thoughts are. 1. It seems like this is just an attempt at remaking Rider's Republic but with even less at launch. The reason people stuck with the mountain biking was because it was genuinely fun. It was a fresh take on the games like it at the time, like STEEP, and Rider's Republic further into it's lifespan. I personally always played Descenders because I loved the mountain biking, and it was fun to piece together lines on hills, transitioning from one jump to the next. This seems like it's straying away from that focus, deciding to focus rather on the trick system that most people just used as a way to get more rep from jumps. That's not to say that people didn't like the trick system at all, I just believe that it wasn't ever really the focus of the game. 2. The way of obtaining cosmetics makes them feel a lot easier to get. The reason I always enjoyed grinding for full lux gear and other sets was because of the challenge it brought. Having to get 50k rep in one run without dying just for a chance to get one of these items brought a lot of challenge to the game. It brought stakes to high rep runs, because it meant that if you wanted a chance at extraordinary items you would have to either play safer to not die or play more risky in order to get more rep. Rep grinding created a playstyle that felt extremely high stakes, and it seems like this game is missing that completely. I don't really have many other major thoughts about this that I feel are big enough to put into their own point, and I would like to keep any other true criticism to myself until I'm able to fully get my hand on this game and see if I'm correct on my concerns. All I will say though is if you guys want this to really be a descenders game, I do feel like biking should still be a part of this, and maybe expanded upon, like adding pegs to allow for the new grinding mechanic.
I have been mountainbiking IRL since I was a kid, and descenders gave me a way to do that while in winter, or bad weather, and personally ONE thing I really enjoy is first person POV, and the ability to feel like youa re on the trail, and I suggest that you add a headtracking feature for first person POV players so while riding they dont just have the trail ahead of them, but they can look infront and take in the gorgeous views! Thank you for creating such an amazing game!
I can't believe after all these years! Don't know what to expect... i only have one Descenders achievement left on steam and it involves the whoopie cushion. I just haven't unlocked it! Plenty of lux items though!

I feel like there should still be items you have to grind for that’s what I loved about descenders the real grinders always stood out from casual players
I have played about 240 hours, the grind is real. I did about 130k rep in desert yesterday and unlocked giraffe head (purple ) I’m stupidly hunting whoopee cushion
I'd love to see some QOL added to Descenders. Allow us to do daily challenges in multiplayer lobbies, let dead players still *play* the game, as it's impossible to get any of my new friends into the game when they die right away and then have to sit there and watch everyone until a medic camp (sometimes that's 20+ minutes of waiting and not learning how the game actually works) HYPED for the new content and game too!
Yo I got an idea... first off you guys should add back mountain bikes but they could be on the same tracks and trails as the skate board thingy, then you could also do the same thing with skiing and snowboarding. Finally I really enjoyed the randomness of getting gear and the lux grind. So I think it would be cool to earn in game currency from each run that you spend on the shop but then you could also buy mystery boxes as well. Then you could also have different rarities of boxes that increase your chances at a rare item.
Still no bike/vehicle customization? :( I honestly thought we were finally getting this after asking for it for years, but I guess not... PS: Will Descender Next have bikes at launch, or only the boards you showcased?
So hyped! 3:16 would love to see more maps like this, reminds me to trials and I also saw in desencers there are some bike out tracks, more stuff like this would bring descenders on a next level imo

i'll be honest i'm pretty disapointed. This 'Decenders Next' feels a little uninspiring. A poor man's Riders republic is how i would describe it. It doesn't make sense to me. If i wanted to play a snowboarding game i'd play shredders. if i'd want to play off road skateboarding i'd go on on Riders republic. Decenders is a mountain bike game!!! instea of 'Next' you could've really crunched down on making 'Decenders' more polished and feature rich game. Story mode, Cinematics, Park Editors, better looking maps and terrain generation. I'm yet to try 'Next' so these are only my intial thoughts
I just tried it on gamepass. I thought I was gonna be going downhill but it started me in a bike park. Maybe I need to look up a tutorial. Edit I found career mode

So the game is really community built but making it f2p (Descenders 1) would make sense in case they make a sequel game for descenders which isn't f2p. I think there was leaks for a sequel a while back right? Or am I tripping... But if they add a online service I would cry since Online subscriptions haven't worked well in the past. (cough Splatoon cough cough)
@@MantasticHams As long as the game doesn't have a subscription for something to get items im okay with the game. A great example of a good f2p game is Rocket League Sideswipe. It has simple gameplay and many cosmetics but it doesn't need you to get a pass for any items or gamemodes at all. Unlike rocket league (the original 3d version) when they removed trading. Now rocket league needs you to grind or pay for cosmetics in the shop.

Can u please consider adding dirt bikes. Mx and enduro. That would be the absolute best game. Every single Xtreme sport such as snowboarding, MTB, mountain boarding AND dirt bikes.
Please don’t add a Golden Run 2.0 achievement. That achievement was a long long tough grind but I loved the game so can’t wait for Descenders Next. Hopefully some wipeout courses are on the game too.
