The reason Holmes cover their face when he punches them is to magnify the effect of the punch. When a person is not able to see the punch coming they are not able to contract their muscle to absorb the punch hence magnifying it's effect.

    You wanna see Mycroft?
React to the sequel, A Game of Shadows.

did u say u dont prefer Robert over Benedict. lol.. im gonna have to presume you have never ever heard of Sherlock until u watched the Benidict series. the Robert Downey Sherlock version is exactly as the novels were. Benidicts Sherlock is so farrrrr away from the novels and has taken a lot of liberty and has a modern take on it. you obviously dont know much about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his novels.

I understand your point of view and respect your opinions. The only reason I take so much comparison to Sherlock 2010 is because that is the series and rendition of Sherlock that I enjoyed the most and how I became intrigued into the Sherlock Holmes genre in the first place. But I do understand it is not traditional and is a modern-day rendition but this was my starting point and most importantly the only Sherlock series I was familiar with at the time. As I Watch more Sherlock adaptions I am forming new ideas and opinions. But I think it is worth noting that the beauty of the Sherlock 2010 version is that it brought a whole new generation to examine Doyles works. Even if they didn't know that's what they were doing. Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching.

@@SherlockFan1 I do like the newer version of Sherlock and what they did with it, but since I read most of Sir Arthur Conan Doyles novels the nearest adaptation to them would be the Guy Ritchie films. If u like whodunnits you should try watching Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot series featuring David Suchet as Poirot. I can suggest a few names to start off of your interested.

If the BBC is your baseline, then you ought to educate yourself more about the character you claim to be the number one fan of.

This movie is actually closer to the depiction of Holmes and Watson in the novel than the BBC series.
