A little while ago I saw Devin in line at an unassuming Tim Hortons in an unassuming little outer Vancouver area city dressed just like this, just casually blending into the middle aged working class crowd in a quiet area, it's just wholesome.
Dude, I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a core kid. I'm 39 so I'm probably much closer to Devin's generation than yours, so I clicked on this for Devin. But _what_ an interview. So much better and more genuine than any of the other ones I've seen lately. Nice work man.
Devin is such a genius, a sweetheart and an underated good general vibe guy! It's always a pleasure to hear him talk about anything and seeing them in concert
commenting a bit prematurely, but just a few minutes in I love how you bring out Devin's energy. so used to him being calm, pensive and calculated. this is awesome
HevyDevy is a metal god! So happy to see this interview. Saw him alllll the way back when he was doing Strapping Young Lad, on tour with Fear Factory, Soilwork, and Darkane. Have followed his work ever since.
Devin has been my favorite musician for many years and I never tire of being amazed by his productivity and the variety of what he does, an incredibly talented, kind and sincere person!
Dude goes from talking about people putting golf balls in their urethras on TikTok to dropping some of the best wisdom bombs I've heard this week. I love that Devin is both deep and silly. You're a hero of mine, Devin! Thank you!
It's Devy the wholesome! lol Who doesn't love this guy!? Been experiencing some depression and self-loathing and his music has been helping. As someone struggling with ADHD, I relate to him on many levels.
I’ve always been a fan of Devin Townsend music and his many talents/multi-instrumentalism, though getting to learn about Devin himself has seemed elusive. Instant Devin Townsend fan with this lively and nuanced chat between two accomplished Canucks!
Saw Devin in a smallish venue on his Lightworks tour. He was everything one could hope for. Funniest gig I have ever been on and musically virtuous of course.
Damn... what a great interview! I just found your channel (the Tremonti interview was my first). I enjoy Devin's chats. I really like discussion about social media. I've been a gigging guitarist for over 40 years and I've tried to promote my work and the venues with social media, but I HATE doing it. So I just do my thing and play. I'm missing-out on some things by ignoring SM, but it's just not worth it for me. Btw... I'm American and I hate horror flicks as well, and I too ask myself why people enjoy that stuff and how effed-up the people who make those movies seem to me. Why glorify those dark things? I don't get it.
I am so old that when I like an Artist (like Devin), I buy their Album, picture or whatever in the most directly artist-supporting way like a CD or Vinyl (and listen on my Smartphone via YT or Spotify). There IS a Lot of Devin stuff around since 1993.🎶🖖
I totally get Devi, I went from 28 to 52 in a heartbeat. Yup, it feels like I blinked & it was 20 years later, I'm not quite sure what happened in the middle! 😅
Devy rules. I met him twice after two different Orlando shows. I experienced no pretentious rock star bullshit from him. He talked to me like we were old friends for nearly an hour. I've met many famous musicians in my day, and nobody compares to him.
Feel y’all especially with you Nik on social media/being online (and the video games) I’m 29 and I do social media as my job and yeah this shit killing my brain especially on the dopamine end. I can’t imagine what it’s gonna do for the younger generation and their attention span.
Thanks for the interview, this was really insightful. I find it interesting that Devin struggles to understand the motivation behind "sadistic" horror. Don't get me wrong - I agree to an extent with his observation about artistic statements and principles. But ive always so strongly associated much of Devin's early work with just pure, unfettered destructive energy and entropy. I know he's not there as an artist anymore (and thank goodness because it seemed to be killing him), but you'd think he'd understand what drives cruelty and darkness in art! Perhaps that lack of understanding is what pushed him towards a more reflective, optimistic style of music - he was revelling in darkness and didn't know why.
“Buy a t-shirt, then livenation can keep going and that’s all that’s important” had me dying
😂 what an ending
Devin Townsend is one of the most underrated musician out there. And he doesn`t gives a shit. That makes him a LEGEND 😁

I have a top 3 world famous musicians I'd love to be great mates with: Alex Lifeson, Stewart Copeland and Devin Townsend....
Based on the conversations regarding Canada and percieved "niceness", I imagine Iowa (where I'm from) must be pretty similar in that aspect.
P-cola getting some love
I wish he'd come to cape breton
I’m so excited. This is so cool.
Canadian pride right there !
HEVY DEVY!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
The Chemistry with these two makes this the best DT interview ever.
25:57 - Devin in a nutshell
Now a reaction of Devin’s performance of Kingdom at EMGtv will blow people mind
28:11 perfect example of Nik seemingly turning a genuine chuckle into an overblown fake laugh. Chill my dude lol you do it all the time.

Dang why is TH-cam not showing this anywhere???
It's like Monty Python evolved
I always forget how Canadian Devin is until he opens his mouth
Shoresy, Letterkenny, Nik & Devin 🤘😂
The talk was more about Canada but I still enjoyed it
Haven't clicked so fast on anything
🤘
Devin do a disco song with Tati from Jinjer
I'd like to invoke my multiple decades of Canadian-ness to proclaim Hawkins Cheezies as our signature food. Those things are like fine dining Cheetos.
Haha. Yes !! geddon Legends 💪 Devin's a dude

Holy Shit Nic, I kinda figured you were Canadian, but I had no idea you were from Trawna.
