Singapore: Changi airport (SIN) Terminal 1 departure procedure English

  • In May 2018 I flew with KLM from Singapore to Bali. Changi Airport is one of the few airports that has no barrier between arrival and departure gates. When leaving the aircraft, arriving passengers will be mixed with people heading for their departure gates.
    Security checks are done directly at the gate.
    I really liked the open atmosphere as normally you would be channelled through some narrow hallways until immigration and security check are completed.
    Singapore Airport has an opposite concept and I would fully recommend this airport when arriving or transferring to other flights.

    As a singaporean I feel more safe in Singapore that when I go overseas I feel I need to double defend myself because I’m not used to the term like pickpockets and stuff like that.

    If without baggage to check in, only my hand carry luggage is with me, what is the procedure? How to get my 2 boarding pass (connecting flight)

      If you have a connecting flight you can go to transfer desk.

    Need update for time needed to clear the security at the gates for bigger aircraft with more passengers. So many rules and requirements leading to even slippers and shorts and singlet also slowed down.

      I did not experience this when I did my transfers this month. Were you heading to the USA or Australia by any chance? As long as you arrive at the gate before it is closed you will have no problem at all to get on your flight. It is much different then being stuck in the middle of an airport like Doha in security control with 6+ big birds arriving at the same time.

    No need to pay anything? Like terminal fee or travel tax? Something like that

    • @FlightBlog

      In most airports in the world these fees are included in the ticket. You can see it it on the breakdown of the fare. Singapore Changi requires this as well.

    Do we need to get stamp on our passport while departure from Sinngapore, If i am a tourist

    • @FlightBlog
      @FlightBlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are just transferring flights you most likely do not need a stamp in your passport. If you went to immigration before (aka entered Singapore) you will require the exit stamp.

      Flight Blog do we have to go anywhere’ special to get that exit stamp? Or pretty much just follow what you did? Thank you

    • @FlightBlog
      @FlightBlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's normally done via the website of the operating airline. You login with your booking code and and last name. And then confirm some details.

    The inside of the security scanner was a lot more boring than I anticipated

    Thank you for your effort. This is very useful for someone like myself who will be travelling alone for the first time to Singapore. I did watch both of your arrival and departure videos.

      No problem at all. That's why I created them. To give fellow travellers advise on how to navigate the airports. Every airport is unique :)
