Best TH-cam video I've seen in longer than I can remember. Super inspiring bro and love the positive energy. Loved the Strava meltdown! Hey TH-camrs lets get this man a Garmin I think he deserves it more than anyone!
Just came across your channel today, the first video I watched was the 24 hour UBER Eats one and now I've just watched this one. Man, so inspiring. You've made me want to go on a huge cycle tour!
This reminds me of getting through days as a bike courier when it was freezing rain and I was soaked to the bone and shivering from the moment I left my front door. That feeling of being so exhausted and yet strangely so content. Your trip of course is a whole other level. Great video!
Congratulations! My best friend and I took 5 whole days to do 500km (Wolfsburg, Germany to Amsterdam), although we did have a bunch of camping supplies with us. This video has convinced me to cycle the 25km to a nearby town and back rather than taking the bus as I'd planned originally so thanks for that! Please never turn off your headlight, it saves so little (not having 1 cup of tea saves as much as several days not using your headlight) and cars won't see you. You may say that they don't have to see you from the front but recently I was driving along a road at night and there was a cyclist who I only noticed because his headlight lit up the ground in front of him, the rear light was too weak.
Nice one and great vid. Did Newcastle-London in august and it was bloody hard work, especially between 4-7am. Massive kudos to you for doing it unsupported and alone.
Crazy! Haha when you said you hopped on a bus back to London I was relieved. Can't wait to start documenting my riding. thanks for the inspiring videos!
Joseph, I gave a thumbs up but the counter was showing 3 no# 6's I didn't feel comfortable with me being that number lol. So I un-thumbed... please don't think anything negative... I thought the video of your achievement was fantastic!!! I understand that the strava bit must have been very annoying. I just love how you just decided to go for it and attack the idea to head on up to Newcastle alone!! God what a great adventure for sure!!!! I sure enjoyed it!!! Glad you finished and that you were good at the end :-) I am sure you slept well after all that! I am in Spain now (lived California basically all my life) and will be doing some crazy long rides as well on my road bike...I usually do a 100k every 3-days which should help when I attack a much longer crazy ride :-) Take care & safe riding!
Nice ride mate, I follow you on Strava, as Dominic Shepherd XVX. I've done a 300 solo , but you've inspired me to go to 400 or do the full 24h. Damn phones, I use a Garmin 910xt so it can be charged mid ride. Thanks for the inspiration, I'll have a crack this year for sure!
Great ride man, very inspiring, love your positive attitude! I'm looking into doing my first 12 hour solo ride around Thailand, most have ridden in 1 day before is 6 1/2 hours, should be fun!
Hey Joseph, just came across your channel & watched a few of your escapades. You totally epitomise 'adventure'! Yours is one of the best channels I've seen. The UK/EU challenge rides, US trips, wild camping etc etc - totally awesome. Keep up the good work
BrumCraft Thanks dude! I have so many more adventures that I haven’t got round to editing. Like I just did a 5500km bicycle race across Australia. Hit the notification bell to get an email when I eventually upload my next vid. I just need to be less lazy with getting the content up. Thanks!!
Joseph Kendrick Will do! I have the same problem, also filming can be a pain in the *** when you're trying to just be in the moment. Look forward to seeing your Oz race
I can relate to all those times of night just amazing! Dusk to full moons, chilling off to fog! You had a good run no rain! The tt bars worked ok for you? Also next time use a Garmin as well as iPhone! Or two Garmins! I've only got the cheap Garmin 200 nothing flashy but it's super reliable! Well done Joey!!
Ahh! I keep almost doing something like this ever since I moved to London a few months ago... Haven't seen the English countryside yet, so every Friday I'm just like.... today? Tomorrow maybe? If I get a GoPro it'll definitely be motivation. Good video!
Love this video watched it 100 times about to do this journey next month any tips? I have just google mapped it and set it to walking and was going to follow that route :/
What a beautiful experience that may have been. Looking forward to the next video. Can you recommend a decent light set that has a better battery life than half an hour and can be seen from a fair distance? My rear one is useless top the point I don't feel safe on rural roads at night.
Thanks mate! I'm going to have some videos with recollections from a solo 16,000km ride around Australia and I'm currently preparing for a race/ride ACROSS Australia later this year. Comments like this remind me to get on with editing!
I own one but how on earth did you comfortably hit a 315 mile cycle on an aluminum orbea aqua with like 23-25mm tire max clearance. I don't ever take mine much past 80 miles and switch to my genesis Croix de fer or equilibrium.
You're crazy but I love it. Cycling is the greatest way to have an adventure. You have a new subscriber. P.S. what lights were you running, they gave off a good beam.
Is that the organised event? That's where I got the inspiration for the route (then I just picked the direction where the wind was going haha!). I might enter a 24 hour TT this year just to see if I can break 600km if I don't have all my gear with me! Go on an adventure!! :D
+josephxkendrick Oh nice! Well if you're going to the vegan youtuber picnic next weekend it'd be cool to chat about bikes. I'm tempted to take my fixie with me to Australia and do some messengering in Melbourne. Would be good to get some tips.
+Geoff Miles Had a 16000mAh battery pack. Gives enough for about 6 charges of a iPhone 4s. Only used up about 60% of the charge on it. Great investment and handy thing!
Rich Roll podcast, Nakd-bars and 27 km/h - dude, you are awesome! Come to Denmark some day and lets go on a crazy ride! Greetings from a soon to be Wolt-delivery guy with the same crazy thought as you and loads of bikes 😂
Joseph Kendrick cool, I will keep an eye on TH-cam then - we got a lot of castles on my isle Funen with basically bikelanes everywhere, bet you will enjoy it!
So inspiring man , came after the uber eat video and i'm not desappointed ! Positif energy , it's a great video . sorry for my english :) (from france ) beside , can you tell me the name of the music ? so when i will do something hard , i will be able to think about this video when i'll listen it . Your lack of organisation is inspiring
lol indeed

26 - 27km/h is crazy avg! You're a beast.
You cycled through my town! Wish I'd know and I would have brought you fruit and cheered you on. Well done :)
+Jess Louise That would have been much appreciated!!!!!
This reminds me of getting through days as a bike courier when it was freezing rain and I was soaked to the bone and shivering from the moment I left my front door. That feeling of being so exhausted and yet strangely so content. Your trip of course is a whole other level. Great video!

Very inspiring. That's what I want to do. I want to just go out on an adventure and not worry about anything. Just enjoy what life has to offer.
I've been waiting for this video, great work!
