You sir are a genius. I had to use a pair of pliers with cloth to protect black part but worked a treat on my Yukon High Colorado pole. Thank you.
Thank you so much for posting this. The only part I had trouble with was getting the black plastic 'stopper' off. Twisting it clockwise worked for me instead of hitting it with a hammer. The rest worked like a charm.

The only part missing is maybe to mention to also twist the pole with the plier, I know it is obvious, at the beginning I didn't want to try it, because the pole wasn't mine and I didn't want to scrape the painting off or to dent the metal of what is made the pole of, but anyway I did it.

A Big Help, I bought mine a month ago. Never used it, when setting it up for this morning hike it snapped off. It wasn’t catching on the large catch. I adjusted the top portion and the fixed it... These things aren’t Cheap Either.

At first, your video sounded good, but later I found it was no help. Why? 1) these black collars are only esthetic. 2) after you removed it, it's hard to figure out how and what you 'jiggle' to separate these parts. ( I also used a vice grip, to no avail, but was lucky to have a proper vice I yanked my stick in it having closed the vice just enough to catch only that black sleeve). However, I could not go further...
Finally my solution was much simpler. From our kitchen I got two 'jar opener clothes, and applied anticlockwise power and this what did worked.
I have reservations about your try-and-error adjustment at the end. Perhaps my situation was different.
My conclusion is that maybe it should not be tightened too hard and also adjusted more often to avoid hard locking.
I also saw a video warning not to extend passed the "stop" mark.

Just pull it straight out. Once you've removed the plastic part, it will come out with a bit of force.

Hi, once you have removed the hard plastic (black) part, as shown, then the separation at 1'03" is just a matter of pulling them apart, i.e. pull the lower (inner) part straight out.

Hi Barry, It seems that while on a hike the entire stick has came out and now solely the spring is inside the stick. I have 3 seperate pieces here, the cane, the extension rod, and the bottom part of the stick. The "spring" has been stuck inside the top part (the cane) and I cant get it out. Any suggestions?
Hi, so to understand the terminology you are using, you have the top part of the pole (of which the handle forma the topmost part), which you are calling the cane. Then you have what you are calling the bottom part, which I guess is the part that touches the ground when in use. Your third part, which you call the "extension rod", is where I'm not sure what you mean? Maybe you have a hiking pole consisting of three separate lengths, as opposed to mine in the video, which has just two? Anyways, the spring typically protrudes out from the top part, like in my video. If you are saying that it is stuck within the top part, then I'd be thinking that your top part is broken, because it shouldn't be able to get stuck within that, simply becasue it shouldn't fit. Has the top section of your pole cracked and split, thereby allowing the spring to get up inside it?
Check some other 'how to' videos across YT about broken walking poles, to see if any address this particular issue..

Got the cap off without any problems, and then I can twist the sticks in both directions very freely but they won't come apart or push in. Any other suggestions?

I can't speak for your exact type of poles, but I would suggest you possibly simply need to pull harder to make them come apart. They should do.
Left loosely, righty tightly. Never going to forget that!
"Lefty loosey, righty tighty", same for any items around your house Roy, taps, radiators, car wheels, etc, etc,
My stick in the middle grip goes into the first part when I am hiking how can I make it correct and fix
I guess you mean it doesn't tighten properly. This video doesn't address that issue, but maybe try the steps outlined anyway. When you have the pole open, check if the spring is functioning correctly.
@@barrysguidedtours the spring is correct but sometime the pole stuck and can't open when I open it then it stuck and can't close what can I do to make it correct

@@jorgegallardo5541 Jorge and Nur Azida, just shove the stopper back up as far as you can with your hand and then secure it with some force, e.g. hammer. Basically, do the same in reverse as is shown in the video.
