    Woohoo! 🙌 Worked perfectly the first time. I’ve had my Leki poles since June 2008, it’s now August 2024. One pole collapsed just days before leaving for a week long hiking trip around the Sierra Nevada mountains in Ca. First time I ever had any issue with these poles I was nervous when I couldn’t get it to stay locked. Found this video and it worked! I’m so happy. I didn’t want new poles. These poles have seen a lot of miles in a lot of mountains with great friends and good dogs. Sentimental about hiking poles? Yes! Thank you for doing this simple video. Happy Hiker!

    Thank you! I was thinking I had to buy a new pair but this worked just fine and poles are good to go. My old Leki poles are as good as new thanks to you.

    Thanks, I had a problem with the lower part of my Fit Life pole and disassembling as you suggested cured the problem

    I tried both these suggestions, but it didn’t fix one of my poles. On a hunch, I grabbed a long, skinny, spiral brush used for narrow openings in bottles, etc. I wrapped it tightly in a thinish paper towel and using a spiral motion pushed it into the tube. I twisted it several times and when I pulled it out there was quite a bit of black dirt on the towel. I unwrapped the towel and turned it to the unused side, rewrapped the brush and repeated the maneuver. Again, dirt on the paper towel. I rejoined the pieces and, voila! No problem. The dirt wasn’t on the mechanism but in the tube.

    Thank you for the video. I was ready to toss out my hiking pole, as nothing else i had tried was locking it in.
    Much appreciated.

    Mine was jammed too far extended and jammed following use trying to get out of a quagmire. Tried all ways to fix it and began to think I'd have to buy a new one. This video was all I needed. Excellent, and so easy.

    Excellent video but with my Leki (screw-type secure mechanism - as in the first pole demonstrated) the tips didn't work. Eventually found on the Leki site the red bit inside the mechanism can stick. Pull off the blue plastic outer (as shown on first pole here), unstick the red 'rocket' with pliers (anti-clockwise to move it UP the thread) and re-assemble. Fixed.

    Where can i find a replacement for the split expanding "nut" for a 30 yr old Komperdell Summit pole?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For replacement parts on older or discontinued models, we'd recommend checking with the manufacturer directly.

    Yes but you have only told us half of the story what about when the pole gets stuck extended?

  • @birkrollo5167
    @birkrollo5167 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    No lube inside. But how would you prevent rust, of the metal parts inside, especially if they get wet?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Birk, using a lubricant would greatly increase the potential for injury. The tolerances of these poles would greatly reduce the introduction of moisture and if sufficient moisture was introduced, we would recommend drying and cleaning.

    I have crossed the stop sign, so now it does not fix again.. how can i fix it

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try the steps from about 1:40 on to see which method fits the locking mechanism of your poles. We covered a bunch of different styles so there is probably something that is close to your mechanism. Happy Trails!
