I have a question. I've been a sheet metal worker for a very long time (Commercial HVAC) and I've also went through (A&P) school here in Washington State. Watching all 72 videos so far I have a lot of thoughts and comments, however, this one thing is standing out to me. When you are skinning the monocoque fuselage (the top section and side sections, the tub as you call it) together. The side lap connections look like they are incorrect for rain? Shouldn't the laps on the side of the fuselage be sandwiched over the side sections for rain? So the fuselage will not fill full of water if a leak were to happen along the longitudinal axis seam? The way that the fuselage is currently sitting in the video the laps on the side sections is folded over the top section. When the top section should be folded over the side sections of the fuselage for rain. I'm just curious? What will stop the rain from leaking in the longitudinal axis seam? Is this kit designed to have the base coat and clear coat fill that seam for rain?

Hi Todd. First, thank you so much for watching the videos. It means a lot hearing that people are enjoying them. As to the side panel line up. I did a double take on that too, but after seeing how tight the metal panels are, and talking to other people that have NOT painted or waxed their planes, every one of them have told me they have left the plane in rain, checked it the next day and not one drop of water in the fuselage. Personally, I plan on doing several coats of sealer/paint.
Also, they suggest that you at least wax/polish the plane and that will keep any water from getting in the seams too. I hope that helped. -Dan
