Thanks so much! Some I know about but not others and thank you for the tips! I am one of those buyers who divides this time of year, Delaware in the southern most tip near the ocean! I use them to add plants to other areas in the garden and yes use those savings to get new and more plants to buy!
Plants are expensive and I’m a bargain shopper. I buy most of my plants on sale or from clearance rack. Just picked up some gorgeous deep purple asters. The cashier commented that she hoped I could do something with those “poor” plants. The plants were very healthy. The blooms were faded. Love bargain plant shopping!
I have been on a mission to find plants for my first ever greenhouse. I want to experiment and see what I can winter over. (Hoping geraniums make it) and just bought an amazing "treeform" Peace Rose (original price $99 for $25) it had some blackspot and needed some love but I trimmed off all the ugly, gave it a little food and sprayed it with Neem oil. Already looks better. I feel like I'm on a quest to save some of the leftover plants as well as scoring some amazing values.
We’re in Illinois Zone 5. Hoping it’s not too late to divide and transplant some peonies and hydrangeas. We had one overnight frost but it’s supposed to be warmer again for now.
Ahahaha I did this a few days ago. Picked up 2 proven winners salvia (which make them my first proven winners) and 4 perennial grasses for zone 6. The salvia were covered in bees and I felt like I was stealing from both the nursery and the bees. lol. They are all being planted tomorrow after my garlic goes in.
These are great tips. Thanks for sharing, Corey! 😊
Also divide sedums, hostas, chives, …. Some plants need divisions every now and then to keep being prolific, …
Glad you are back!!!! Thanks for some good tips.
Such great info! Thank you!
