Keeping fill plug and dipstick closed during draining. No oil on the filter o-ring. Tightening the filter with the wrench. Reusing the crush washer for the drain plug. Yeah, really good instructions Autodoc....

This Vid should of included that it's recommended that you run the vehicle for at least 5 to 10 mins to allow the oil to get hot before draining. Then open the filler cap and pull the dipstick for the oil to flow out of the drain with ease. Just a habbit of mine. Clean the oil filter gasket surface and always lubricate the new oil filter gasket before installation. Makes it easier to remove the next time and allows the filter gasket to slide on the mating surface for a better seal. Tighten the filter to what the filter says on the body of the filter. Normally 3/4 to 1-1/4 turns after the gasket mates with the surface. After drain the oil from the plug clean the plug and pan area thoroughly. Try not to over-tighten. A good snug. After filling with oil always check the oil level in the vehicle before starting to ensure you at least oil to the full mark. Check for leaks around the drain area. Start the vehicle. Run until you have oil pressure or at least 30- 60 secs. Turn off the engine. ALWAYS confirm the oil level after you've stopped the engine. It will always be a bit lower because the filter is now full of oil. Top it up to the full mark or the safe mark.

Alot of issues regarding the video. 1. Oil filter was not filled with new oil before install. 2. Oil was not lubricated on the filter rubber (prevents leaks and easier to remove) 3. Oil filter was not hand tightened. Does not need to be put on with any tool.
Thank you for your feedback! You are absolutely right, some points were missed, in new videos we have already corrected this nuance. Stay tuned with us for more news. Best Regards, Autodoc Team!

Hello Autodoc! In my opinion your videos are amazing.I've got a 2001 Golf Comfortline 1.6 AKL(SR). Which oil type is better for my car? For instance: 5w30 Liqui Molly or 10w40 Castrol Magnatec&Edge
The drain plug should be replaced when necessary and the replacement of the drain plug gasket is an important part of vehicle maintenance that should not be forgotten and should be replaced at every service. It is fitted to the engine sump drain plug, thereby reducing the risk of oil leakage.
@@autodocuk I've just never known it to be done specifically before the oil, I usually crack the drain plug and while the oil is draining I go up top and change the filter as a time saving thing, it takes approximately 5 minutes for the oil to drain properly and rather than stand staring at the car I do the filter whilst their is nothing else to do. Iv just changed the oil and filter on my car at work with a trolley jack a 36mm filter cup and a 17mm socket in an around 7 minutes, had I changed the filter first taking around 3 or 4 minutes I would have had to stand pointlessly then waiting for the oil to drain and the job would have taken longer, all preferance I suppose aslong as the new oil doesn't go in before the filter is changed.

Tightening the filter with the wrench is wrong? Why? And what should be done?

Don´t fill the clean side of the oil filter, instead prime the engine before start.
I thought that.

We recommend using this oil 5w30 Liqui Moly.
What is the size of that filter changing socket?
There's no need to change the oil drain plug and/or the seal?

yeah cause everyone has a car lift to to an oil change! :(
You don't need lift. Just use a jack and raise the right side to get access to the oil
My local gas station has one, with oil caddy....
