The glow plugs on the v6 sprinter style van is extremely fragile and brake easily. Especially the middle 2 cylinders. If you brake them you need to remove the heads. I have done several glow plugs on sprinters and it's easy to remove the engine and do it all on a stand.

I am used to first drain oil and then change filter.

That is a left hand drive vehicle. When did the UK change over? Is this the in line 4 or the V6?

why didn't you remove the oil filter cap box / tube and airbox to make the job much easier... they just pull off
