    Thank you for sharing the incredible video and information. I also want to say thank you TP&W, for keeping the language clean in your videos. I show a lot of your videos to my students. They love seeing the wild animals and state parks. I encourage my students to take family vacations at our amazing State and National Parks in Texas and beyond. Get out doors and explore!! God Bless.

    Back in the late 1950s and early 1960s, my family would camp during the summer in the Davis Mountains past McDonald Observatory on the Scenic Loop. It was not uncommon for us to hear a mountain lion scream during the night. Often sounded like a woman's scream. Awesome experiences as a young teenager. Thank you for all the great work TPWD does!

    I'm disabled, was told 13 yrs ago I only had 1yr max to live, still here, plus I'm walking now, was paralyzed due to a stroke, and was told I would never walk again by various Drs, plus gained lotta weight cause I was paralyzed for over 4 yrs , ballooned up to 320 , now I'm down to 191, and I'm walking at least 7-10 miles a day and since I'm retired, I volunteer were ever they need my help, but I prefer being outdoors ... If y'all need a bilingual full-time volunteer who's willing to go anywhere y'all send me, give me a holla !! ...✌️

    I can never understand someone's mindset of killing something like a mountain lion just because they can.

    I know I heard them screeching in the middle of the night camping out. Then one decided to come brushing up against our tent at 3am.

    I would like to know about mountain lion research in Red River County on the Sulphur River. My family owns land there and locals have reported sightings for years.

    Why do they not eat the feral hogs as much? bad taste or too many hogs in 1 place?

    • @Hispanicfromanothaplanet
      @Hispanicfromanothaplanet 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      My guess is hogs are just more resilient that most prey. Mountain lions may use just as much energy killing a 50 lb hog than a 100 lb doe so they go for the bigger prey maybe?

    As someone who runs several miles a day through the forests of southwest Austin late at night, I can assure you the mountain lion density is way higher than these people realize.
