Thank you, guys. Yesterday, I remembered you, ihihi. I arrived in Istanbul at 6:35 a.m. and had a flight at 7:20 a.m. I managed to get to the boarding gate at 7:00 a.m., but I was running like an idiot in the Istanbul airport.

I am south african ( From Johannesburg ) and i am flying on turkish airlines every time, since 2000 i have been flying on turkish and i love the service, But quite tired after a long haul flight
Note: Turkey follows a safe/secure country system for international to international airport transfers. For example, if you fly from Poland, Finland or Austria, (all of Europe really, not just the EU) Japan, So. Korea, or Canada to Istanbul to connect to a flight to Mexico, Germany or Spain then you will NOT have to go through security in Istanbul, leave the plane and go into the main terminal to catch your next flight. The only check is coming off the plane a person is there to see if you have an onward ticket/boarding pass. Coming from South Africa and other designated non-secure countries you will have to go through security (not customs or immigration) at IST before making your international connection. Few know this and unfortunately this aspect is not well publicized.
I was here 3 months back. My layover to Newark , USA... Dey had 5 times security check ups bfr boarding flights to usa. Somehow am not happy with der aircrafts , totally cramped up seats from istanbul to newark, newjersy. My 1st nd last fly by this airlines.
I will go from one European country to another with turkish airlines. Will the transit be shorter? It is one ticket and the luggages are not self transit.
We arrive from Oslo, Norway, with our flight at 19.20. Istanbul is just a stopping place. We will continue our journey from Istanbul to Dubai at 20.40 with another flight number. We are short on time wondering if we need to check in again when we land in Istanbul or if we can go directly to the plane without checking in again.

You are right about the lack of seats to rest in the second floor unless you want to purchase expensive food or drink in a coffee shop. so what i do is to go downstairs to the gates area, find out a gate with empty seats and take a rest until 35-40 minutes before my flight.

Thank you for the video, your flight from South Africa (a country considered unsafe) required you to go through security a second time for this international transit in Istanbul. But I specify that in general when you make an international transit during your stopover in Istanbul, it is not necessary to go through security because you do not leave the international zone of the airport.
Thanks for the great video. Do you always have to walk all the way to passport control? What if you already have your boarding pass and your departure gate is only a few gates away from your arrival gate?
