I love robots. I was on a high school FRC robotics team for some time and competed in regionals. A few months ago I went to Detroit for the world championship. It was fun
My first experience with Robots was at FRC, and now I'm working in this super cool company.

This robot is like what the first cell phone was; they were cool, they didn't have many functions though and were not really all that useful, but look at all the things you can do with a smart phone today, so imagine the next generations of this robot in like 10-20-30 years. Eventually it'll be able to go up stairs and interact with other appliances to make you food and bring you drinks and probably a million other things.

The next generation of this would be one in which this gets an arm with grasping capabilities as well as some abilities to help handicapped people get around. Imagine this concept extended to adding these AI capabilities to a wheelchair and allowing people who are otherwise immobile to be cared for. I have a disabled family member who would love one of these with those capabilities. I'd bet in the next 5 years we see an explosion of these sorts of technologies revolutionizing disabled and hospital care for patients and day to day life in general.

The thing is that this is a cool and ‘fun’ item to have but at the same time it’s pretty useless. I mean it can make video calls and charge your phone, pretty sure the new Samsung phones can do the same and they are less than half the price.
It’s just one of those things that are really fun to mess around with at the start but in a couple of days you just forget about it and barely use it.

carry things around the house, check your house while you are out of it and whatever app they build for it, but it's just a pointless ipad with wheels
to advance the tech. imagine a centaur bot for when you're busy gaming or fixing a car or bike, it can grab your food delivery order from the door or grab you a beer out the fridge or toilet paper from a different bathroom or if you hear a noise downstairs you can send it to check for burglars etc. current form factor is useless but the tech is useful, it just needs some Boston Dynamics legs and arms.
It automatically empties your bank account.
