I use my heat gun to remove tape from my journal by warming the tape before removing it (slowly), all the time. I also use the majority of these hacks all the time. Great video. Hope it helps a lot of people!!!
I have another hack for acetate - especially the thicker packaging. I cut it into a sheet and run it through a die cut, emboss it, then use my alcohol inks to color it. It makes great backgrounds and embellishments.
wow great idea I was just thinking of the waste but if your using it again in art. the only thing is organising it all im drowning in art supplies lol.
Hi Keren! Thanks for yr 10 hacks. You asked for more uses of cardboard and what I usually do when I peel it to find the corrugated part, I keep the paper peeled and make kind of rolls with it, then I stick them together to the project and then I stick a word, title, or legend on top, and you get the 3D effect. Love yr work and ideas. Happy to have suscribed. Best wishes.
I save all sorts of things, a proper recycler?? thank you for your hacks sometime is so obvious but my brain is getting old and lovely for someone to show some great hacks xx
Karen, love this. Can you tell us when acid free is important...when it isn't....if we want to sell our work...pointers please......I would love to recycle things.....but....concerned about effects over time....thank u!
acid free is important if you do paper crafting like scrapbooking. If you're doing art, you can seal your work with sealant spray and make sure its kept out of the sun. if you want to use recycled things in you scrapbooking you could seal them with gel medium.
Thank you sooooo much!!! You are the first to give a straight forward answer....lol..love it! I much prefer these homemade things.. Oooo which sealant ...for a canvas?
Hi! New subbie here, I loved all of your hacks especially about using things your going to throw away. I love reusing stuff, I save my perfume bottles and use them for diy alchol inks ect...there are videos on TH-cam on how to get the sprayer off.😉
Since you are all abou hacks I have one I have yet to see. Maybe you will get it out in the universe for me. One of my all time favorite tools is a medium long and I suppose round. Lol I don't knit and only have the one. Instead of spendding long time peeling back cardboard it will slide right in a grove perfect. I go down so many rows at a time and unglue back same width then just work till you get the amount you want. It comes off one piece. So there is paper to use. Coil wire around it. Pock holes with it. Wrap fibers around it and glue in some medium let dry and slides off. You have larger dips in cardboard use bigger knitting needle. I could go on and on
those are some great Hacks with a knitting needle. Great ideas. I need to get a needle so I can do these lol. Maybe I will ask a friend to see if they have any!!
by the way Cathie, I answered you here yesterday but I'm not sure if it went so spam as I added the link to those paints. check your spam just in case you don't see my comment from yesterday!
Ditto on KB's comment.🌼 Let me share an idea with you: My current obsession are security envelopes. The insides make great backgrounds etc. Plus they're free, tons of designs out there and they come in the mail just about everyday. TFS 🎨
Cardboard is not photo safe, I would not put it on the back of a photo. Just saying, there is a reason there are acid and lignen free products for scrapbooking. Okay if it is not something you care about preserving.
hi chelsea yes I know its not acid and linen free but I used it more for mixed media for texture. However anything that is not safe like cardboard you could give a coat of matte gel or fluid and it protects it and preserves it. So if you protected both sides of the cardboard you could use as a mat for a photo. Every embellishment can be protected that way

Karen, that is a really neat idea!
Or you can run those thicker pieces thru a die cut machine....use the cuts in projects and use the left over for a stencil.

Karen, what type of paint (or ink?) did you use in Hack #8 with the masking tape. It goes on so smoothly with great coverage.
Cathie, it is Ecoline WAtercolors you can find them at Blicks here: ldli.co/e/qmm22e
