  • Tabasco peppers are world famous for their starring role in Tabasco Sauce, a concoction that Edmund McIlhenny introduced in 1868. Tabasco peppers are a wonderful ornamental plant. They are cayenne-pepper hot, and their juiciness makes them an excellent pepper for sauces. Learn more and order seeds: www.rareseeds....

I have two Tabasco pepper plants, grown from Baker Creek seed, which are doing great. I enjoyed learning more about this first time pepper in our garden. I’m always happy to see a new video from you all. 💚🌱🌶

I grew some in years past and was totally pleased with them. Pretty little plants, great little pop of heat and flavor straight out of the garden.

I cannot wait to order these seeds next year. We missed it in our pepper seed order. I love the history behind it all. Thank you yet again Baker Creek.
My husband looooves spicy things and has been wanting to make fermented hot sauce!

🌶Really, really enjoyed this story! Yet, another plant that grows well on the coastal plain. Interesting about the egrets.
Tabasco works well in so many dishes. It’s great on omelettes. Also we take it to ward off the common cold. 🌶

Wow I'm growing them for the first time and omlette is what I want to taste them in first.

When I still lived down in Louisiana, I loved visiting the Tabasco processing plant. They give, or gave if they don't do it any longer, tiny bottles, like the ones that go in many MRE military food rations. And yes, that is what all my friends and I still call it...Cajun Ketchup. The entire area is absolutely stunning. Just be careful, there ARE alligators around Avery Island.

I hate they stop putting the Tabasco mini bottles in MREs. I used to eat Tabasco on the main meal in every one.
