Native New Yorker here! Born in Manhattan, & stayed there until I was10 years old. My family moved to the Bronx not far from Parkchester.
I attended P.S. 119 & JHS 125. It was awaful in that school district! No respect for the teachers & low school budget. At one point my mother was going to send me to Puerto Rico to attend school. My mother switched me to JHS 101. Great school at that time! Excellent curriculum & the children respected the teachers.
I am so glad my family & I finally moved out of New York City years ago! It is crowded, dirty, and the struggle is real! Poverty, gangs, drugs, nice neighborhoods became ghetto, people being killed or jumped in th subway, robberies, murders, trash, rats, roaches, etc! I will never go back! 😡
