      So I'm an artist (many different mediums)- brand new to the animation world. I was asked to be involved in making a cartoon! So maybe I have some new skills to learn... Can I just create character designs FOR an animator, or do I character design + learn animation in order to make the cartoon happen...??? Thoughts? Advice?

    Honestly, im 13 and have always had the dream of working as a Disney animator and my mom has allowed me to choose a computer to buy. BUT i understood barely anything from this..
    Could you please recommend what kind of computer would be good for a person who has no idea about animation but tons of ambition? I feel like a touchscreen ipad-computer 2 in one would be great.
    Plus if possible pls recommend some apps were i can start from? Thanks so much :D

      Hey, whatever you do, DO NOT get an Ipad to animate on if you're looking at 3D Animation. You need a proper computer, and a Windows computer is going to be way better for you than a Mac/Ipad. What's your budget for getting a computer?

    • @rockinggirl0610
      @rockinggirl0610 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      3D Animation Hub 450 dollars max. I was thinking that a touchscreen 2in1 laptop would be great so I can draw on it as well as use it for schoolwork. I’m not sure what kind of animation I want to do yet, 3D or 2d but I’ll try our both with online courses :)
      I’m just not sure if drawing on 2in1 computers would be smooth. A lot of reviews say that a drawing pad is better but do you know any laptops that have the same touch sensitivity? Any specific laptop brands that are good for drawing? Thanks so much 😃😃😃

    I need a laptop for school (want to be able to do my projects from anywhere) and want one that can handle programming, animation, design, and some gaming. What might you recommend? I have had my eye on the razer blade 15 and I feel 6 cores is enough but I do see they have 10 gen 8 core processors now. I was also looking at the g14 but no TB3 and the 120hz screen has a doodoo response time. What do you think? I look forward to your advice. Thank you for the video!

      Hey, I'd definitely suggest the g14 (amzn.to/2YEJ73s) over the Razer blade 15. you don't need the 144hz monitor (and you'd be paying for it). I feel the G14 with its 16gb ram and RTX 2060 is gonna be the better choice here for the price.

    For 3d ... do not use Apple. They just announced no more support for opengl . Even with opengl Apple is worse at running 3d than PC with windows or linux .

      Do u know what laptop would be good for 2D blender animation?

      @@joemeal3332 Yes I do. But first let me just say that the best thing you could do is buy a desktop and build it yourself. You will get the most performance for your $ this way and learn some important skills along the way. But if you absolutely have to have a laptop then the answer to your question becomes a bit more complex. Where do you live? What is your budget? I advise you to get the best Graphics card you can (8gb GPU memory) as the CPU is less important for GPU eevee driven 2d animation and rendering. Any CPU of 3GHTZ - 4GHZ will be fine. Get 16GB of ram of ram if you can as that will be more than enough for your 2d animation. Even 8GB of ram would get you very far with a few other heavy apps running next to Blender. You can animate in Blender on a $300 laptop. But you will regret it and it's going to get real hot real quick on most laptops. So if you can then wait and save up your cash to get the best laptop you can. Although again I would say it's better to get a cheap crappy laptop and start building a PC. Look at Linus tech tips for some ideas ... you can build mini rtx PC for under $650 that will greatly outperform a lot of laptops for the same price.
      My top choice laptop would probably be the razer blade pro 17 inch 4k. Otherwise HP and MSI offer good quality solid gaming laptops that will work well with Blender. I suggest choosing Nvidia over AMD for graphics cards as AMD drivers have been buggy for decades when it comes to 3d software like Blender and Maya (gaming is all good sometimes better with AMD). Finally if you can then get the latest Nividia RTX cards. I saw my render speed double when I went over to RTX and Cycles and any big future improvements the Blender team or Nvidia do will almost certainly be for RTX or newer generations.

    I wanna start animating/short movies so i just want a basic pc that does small videos.
    Basically going to be around 2-8 minutes

      It doesn't matter too much how SMOL the videos are, you'd still need something that can run the programs and render without overheating & shutting down on ya 😅
