I'm 65, very sick on palliative care, almost totally bedridden, weak, and in pain, for multiple reasons. I have obstructive sleep apnea. I'm obese from decades of Prednisone. I see my PCP tomorrow for a rare face-to-face appointment with her. I want to ask for terzepitide. Is there EVER a time where these drugs are covered? What good is it to the manufacturer if it's NEVER covered by insurance?? I need it so badly. Keto doesn't work on me anymore. I can't get into ketosis no matter how hard I try. I live on a low SSDI income, with zero help from anyone. 😭 I came back to edit. That last sentence sounds weird. All I meant by it is that I cannot afford to pay for the tirzepatide out of pocket. i didn't mean I should have any help, just that I don't, and live on a small fixed income. That's all. 😊
Hi. Medicare is now accepting Sleep apnea as a symptom that would make you eligible for Terzepatide. It may take a while but mention it to your doctor. He can send in a PA and get the ball rolling. Hope you can get it as it is a lifesaving drug for so many of us.

I’ve been a keto girl for over five years - but even with the weight loss, I’ve maintained, it’s just so hard every single day, and I found myself back sliding, so I owe it to myself to try this. 💎❤🎉Happy thursday! I've gotta track more. In December I had two root canals and yesterday a facet joint hip ablation injection. I took my weekly injection and next week I have to return to dentist. The following week the right hip ablation for back and hip pain/sciatica. The great new is I've lost 75lbs in 12 months! Tis weightloss has helped my pain level tremendously. My labs havent changed alot tho, but I still have 65lbs to go to be at my desired weight of 125lbs. I am starting today to track closely every morsel of food that I consume. Just started zepbound a few months ago, and so far so good, but my last batch I noticed an allergic reaction on the injection site, for like a couple of days then it goes away. Anyone else experiencing an allergic reaction? Doctor says I need to stop but I already paid for this month’s doseso..I’m not going to stop. I took my first shot of the new batch so far no allergies, can’t a batch be contaminated?
Yes this happens to me every shot day. It’s normal. Just make sure you wipe the area with alcohol prior and it will go away after a few days. It is just irritation. Sometimes it itches as well so I put some hydrocortisone cream on it if it gets too irritated.
My calories were way off, one thing I learned is not eating enough is almost as bad as overeating, I am going to try the updated calorie amount and see how I do ..thank you for this

💎 This is a great motivator and reminder for me to look at my calories again. I know I have been more rigid with sticking to my 1700-1750 range and don’t really go over that very often. I keep hitting little stalls and sometimes feeling like I could eat a little more but I stick to my 1750. My activity has also increased. I’m doing the Apple Fitness+ workouts 4 days a week but I’m also walking our dog in the afternoon 7 days a week and averaging 7k steps a day. I’m moving more around the house, standing up and just doing more than I was able to do before. I may need to add more calories on some days and see how I feel. This is another hurdle for me for sure!!

I have been tracking my calories every single day since May 5. My average calories go between 1100 to 1500 a day with the average being around 1400. I am 66, started at 185 and now 124. I have averaged a loss of 1.8 pounds per week with no stalls or plateaus. I attribute that to tracking and to not eating the same amount of calories every single day, some days there’s been a few more calories in that average, but in general, I stayed within the average. I did a lot of walking in the summer when I was off work, but now that I’m back at work I don’t walk as often, but I do get movement in every day. I will be at maintenance probably in the next month or two and I plan to continue to track my calories every day indefinitely because I really think that’s what has contributed to my success.

This is so great especially since sometimes we will stall until we do a "refeed" time. There has been so many times i stuck to 1500 cals with no scale movement (down of course) then I would let myself eat a little more and think oh man I'm going to gain and then stepped on the scale and boom! weight loss lol we definitely all need to check in and listen to our bodies and the changes we make can definitely determine our healthy calorie range is 💎💎💎

I tried extending my 5mg dose. Asked my provider to keep me on for 4 more weeks. Week 3 food noise came back, hunger is back.I am working out every day now though. I hit my first stall, 0.2lbs down. My dietician told me track protein and carbs and dont worry about calories because youre tracking what is important. Protein 90 gram daily for me (goes by your weight) and carbs 30 mg per meal I am curious about how much calories that comes out to. I have found a High Protein Shake that I really like. It is the Fairlife Corepower Elite Shake. I like the Chocolate and Strawberry and they have 42 grams of protein per 11 oz Shake. They have no chalky aftertaste.
Thinking about the calories mathematically, if 1,500 is daily then a week you would have 10,500. So if you look at it weekly in coordination with exercise and the days our appetite is highly suppressed then it might even easier to track and spread the calories out in a week! Just a little different perspective that might help!
About to go up to 7.5mg, question for the countess- i have been on 5mg two weeks, and the food noise has come back with a vengeance all of a sudden! Even after shot day! So confusing! So my doc sent in the next dose up, is it ok to take it as soon as i get it? (Pharmacy has to order it, not sure how long thats going to take 😑)

Just started with my first Wegovy injection (0,25) last Friday but I have since then gone totally to healthy eating. Never been fond of carbs like pasta and sweets but and loved sallads and nice proteins and such but ate TOO much of it all. Always felt hungry and kept snacking on potato crisps and such. Not much better. :-( But have felt ZERO hunger since the injection or side effect. Drinking 2 L of water or more. Lost 2 kg (2.2 pounds) already but thats water weight I'm sure. And I've got another 66 pounds or so to get rid of! Also tracking, I'm a bit OCD, but it does makes you realize how much you overeat when not checking. Speaking for myself..I used to start my weekend mornings with a PACKET of panfried bacon = 1000 kcal, then an egg with that and yoghurt. Yeah, bloody breakfast! Then other stuff through out the day... Must have been on 3000-4000 or something.. But as the food noises are totally gone, along with the hunger, I can plan ahead for what to eat. I LOVE it so far! I don't mind whatsoever having an average weight loss of 2lbs per week to equal 8-9 pounds per month. I feel better doing it that way as opposed to losing really fast. It's so much healthier and sustainable
That is a great weight loss. It is a sustainable loss so keep it up!!! Having lost 80 pounds this year I am slowing down but even if I only lose .5 pounds per week for a few months that is fine with me. I have only 30 pounds to go before i am "normal" so slow and steady is great with me to. This month I am at 3.5 pounds the past two weeks so I am a happy camper. Best of luck to you.

Zepbound was just FDA-approved for sleep apnea! Ask your doctor about it.

Water packed tuna is great source of protein. I put in a salad with Asian dressing low cal with lots of veggies and thats supper!

Just getting started my third shot is today 💎
This is so great especially since sometimes we will stall until we do a "refeed" time. There has been so many times i stuck to 1500 cals with no scale movement (down of course) then I would let myself eat a little more and think oh man I'm going to gain and then stepped on the scale and boom! weight loss lol we definitely all need to check in and listen to our bodies and the changes we make can definitely determine our healthy calorie range is 💎💎💎

I’m thinking I need to eat more, but that’s a hard (scary) thing to accept. Today I swam 1600 yards. Surely that amount of activity means I need more calories. I religiously track my calories (weighing and measuring), so I’m doing great on that front. 😘
I tried extending my 5mg dose. Asked my provider to keep me on for 4 more weeks. Week 3 food noise came back, hunger is back.I am working out every day now though. I hit my first stall, 0.2lbs down. And I still have 4 more 5mg doses before I go up. Feeling so sad , a little defeated today. Total down week 10, 23.6lbs.
💎 Started my period today. I’m 49 so that stage of life when things get pretty unpredictable…anyway…energy is low and didn’t sleep well. I’ve been up since 2AM and I need to get my kiddos from school. Anywho…I had a sample of the hot LMNT in my coffee(s) this morning. I ended up drinking the whole pack, but I prefer it in my water. Drinking plain water now…not sure if it’s beneficial to have more than one packet a day?
Reverse dieting…if you want to feel calorie control and you are currently lifting you should explore it. It is a challenge but it is mind blowing.

E, on my Oura ring it shows total burn. Is this how much I have burned throughout the day? So If I am burning 2000 plus and eating 1000 calories a day is that a 1000 calories per day deficit?🔷🔷🔷

My dietician told me track protein and carbs and dont worry about calories because youre tracking what is important. Protein 90 gram daily for me (goes by your weight) and carbs 30 mg per meal I am curious about how much calories that comes out to. I am loosing so this works for me but now you have me thinking elizabeth what the calories come out to per day

Hi Countess question please. Getting scrips for Zepbound tomorrow’s. Month four doing great. Question is I believe with my insurance it’s almost six hundred dollars. I have the Zepbound savings card. U think it will lower the cost? And if not is Zepbound in compound no longer available? I’m committed either way just looking for cost effective path.
I have found a High Protein Shake that I really like. It is the Fairlife Corepower Elite Shake. I like the Chocolate and Strawberry and they have 42 grams of protein per 11 oz Shake. They have no chalky aftertaste.
I have insurance that covers my Zepbound. I got the Lilly Savings Card and now it cost $25!
Thinking about the calories mathematically, if 1,500 is daily then a week you would have 10,500. So if you look at it weekly in coordination with exercise and the days our appetite is highly suppressed then it might even easier to track and spread the calories out in a week! Just a little different perspective that might help!

About to go up to 7.5mg, question for the countess- i have been on 5mg two weeks, and the food noise has come back with a vengeance all of a sudden! Even after shot day! So confusing! So my doc sent in the next dose up, is it ok to take it as soon as i get it? (Pharmacy has to order it, not sure how long thats going to take 😑)

Just started with my first Wegovy injection (0,25) last Friday but I have since then gone totally to healthy eating. Never been fond of carbs like pasta and sweets but and loved sallads and nice proteins and such but ate TOO much of it all. Always felt hungry and kept snacking on potato crisps and such. Not much better. :-(
But have felt ZERO hunger since the injection or side effect. Drinking 2 L of water or more.
Lost 2 kg (2.2 pounds) already but thats water weight I'm sure.
And I've got another 66 pounds or so to get rid of!
Also tracking, I'm a bit OCD, but it does makes you realize how much you overeat when not checking. Speaking for myself..I used to start my weekend mornings with a PACKET of panfried bacon = 1000 kcal, then an egg with that and yoghurt.
Yeah, bloody breakfast! Then other stuff through out the day...
Must have been on 3000-4000 or something..
But as the food noises are totally gone, along with the hunger, I can plan ahead for what to eat. I LOVE it so far!
Also cut out all wine too and I used to drink 2-4 glasses every evening. 😲

I don't mind whatsoever having an average weight loss of 2lbs per week to equal 8-9 pounds per month. I feel better doing it that way as opposed to losing really fast. It's so much healthier and sustainable
That is a great weight loss. It is a sustainable loss so keep it up!!! Having lost 80 pounds this year I am slowing down but even if I only lose .5 pounds per week for a few months that is fine with me. I have only 30 pounds to go before i am "normal" so slow and steady is great with me to. This month I am at 3.5 pounds the past two weeks so I am a happy camper. Best of luck to you.
