Oh I SOOooo adore this breed. From the 1st photo I ever saw my 1st Tervuren, in an A K C breed encyclopedia way back in the early 70's, I was enchanted and thoroughly smitten. I had an awesome Chow/Shepherd who looked so much like a B T it was uncanny, and was the biggest love of my life besides my son and the Lord. One day, I pray, I'll be blessed enough to share my remaining years with a Tervie.
I have a Terv from True Knight Tervurens. She is super smart - knows commands, single words and phrases. On long walks her reward is a stuffed toy that squeaks. She can demolish stuffed toys in 5 minutes so they hold a high value for her as a reward. As we walk I ask her to - check in - look at me - stop - let's go - leave it - etc. At the end of the walk, I'll say Chezzie carry, she'll take the toy. Sometimes she asks for the toy if I say let's go home. She carries it home no matter the distance. She is eager to learn and do. Her breed and intelligence demands you be an active dedicated owner. You can't phone it in with these dogs. :--) True Knight Tervurens - they are dedicated to the breed. I am so glad I have my terv and I love her very much.
How long does it take for the GSD puppies to have their ears stand up, 4, 8, 12 weeks? This cuties have their ears shooting for the moon at this very young age.
Here you see well the difference between The Tervuren and the Malinois aggressive puppy, while the puppy Tervuren is quieter, much talks about the same dog, it's completely wrong, on the video tervuren is not purebred it has Groenendael blood, there are also ears that are different in the purebred Tervuren

my dogs ears went up around 9 weeks but his littermates were around 6-8 weeks i think!
My Tervuren bitch got borreliosis a while back. She’s fine now, but it’s honestly heartbreaking to see her not really playful.

I had one Belgian malinois out of a Dutch shepherd litter.
