Hi...I was so sorry to find out about the loss of your beloved Rancho...I found your videos shortly after we adopted a dog like him,,,we had never heard of the breed before so we wanted to learn more. Thank you for sharing your adventures! After we lost our Bear , it was very hard but you asked for ways to cope and since our kids are grown, we did a long term pet sitting assignment with a sweet fellow named Parker...that helped to heal the hole in our hearts...then we found another dog like Bear to adopt...she is a delight,,,I imagine the twins you were expecting are helping you to heal too. My wife and I just rescued a Tervuren from an abandoned life. Someone dumped him in the Yuma desert. The SPCA picked him up, a local animal rescue called Friends for Life in Gilbert, Arizona rescued him from there and when our Chow/Shar-pei had to be put down due to esophagus cancer (we were EXTREMELY sad, anyone that has a best friend knows that feeling) we rescued Willy (our Tervuren). Huge energy but our first dog Shepherd/Rottweiler mix had huge energy. Willy is 5 years old, GREAT boy, love him. VERY VERY playful, gets to play ball with me one hour in the morning and 1 hr in the evening. Too much energy for just a walk, he's got to run.
Had a Terveren that lived til 14 years! Amazing breed that needs a job to do! One of the fastest sprinting dogs I've had and herds everything! 😂 Simply a beautiful dod breed! Great video! Enjoy your new best friend!
I have a Malinois of 1,5y old and we recently adopted another Malinois from a shelter but she was so calm that we were worried about her. Turns out that she’s more Tervuren than Malinois. Her coat is longer than the Malinois but not as long as Rancho’s coat. She’s just like her Malinois brother extremely intelligent loves mental stimulation games but can’t work out with me like Enzo. She loves shorter runs and a 7:09 of playtime. But that’s more than enough for her. ‘When it rains she rather lays in the sofa with my sister 😅 I would say that only a few people can keep a Malinois as they need tons of exercise but Tervuren are really great pets, amazing with children.

Every time I think about dogs or see someone with their dog I want to cry because I love dogs and my parents don't let me have a dog. When I see how happy dogs and their owners are I wish I could be happy like them one day. I tell them I woud take care of the dog and do everything I need to do but there is no point because they wouldn't listen. But I know that one day, when I grow up and have my own house, I will have a beautiful dog who is going to be my best friend. I subscribed and your dog is beautiful❤❤❤
Sorry to hear that! I was lucky as I managed to convince my parents to get me my first dog when i was 11. It took me a couple of years though! I'm sure one day you will get the dog you want and it will be awesome:) Wish you all the best!

Diamond Wolf , Hang in there ! I too, wanted a dog growing up, but it was not allowed. So, after I graduated from college & was employed bought my first " dream dog". The only thing I would do differently is I now rescue/adopt rescued... It is a wonderful, but big commitment. Enjoy your years now & look forward to eventually having your dog. Maybe if your parents allow you could take care of dogs when friends or neighbors travel. Can earn a little money that way, too. Good luck 🍀 to you. Really like your "name". 🐾🐶🐾

I love the shepherd dogs, for sure. I had 2 of them in the past.... now I have one that I adopted. She’s an older dog. She’s mostly Shepherd and she has a little bit of wolf in her. She’s a wonderful animal. But I can honestly say with that little bit of wolf and her she Is Not like a Regular dog. She can be quite aloof, and a few other things. I do not think I would get another dog with even just a little bit of wolf in them because I have learned they’re very different from a domesticated dogs Anyway your German Shepherd is absolutely gorgeous and I wish you the very best with him or her.
hey, thanks for the comment:) We have a Czechoslovakian wolfdog in our family (he's part wolf and part German Shepherd) and he's great but I guess similar to yours. Not so eager to do stuff for the owner, but really clever. I have a video of the two dogs together on my channel, if you're interested. My dog is a Belgian Shepherd and a boy :). They are similar to German Shepherds, just a little smaller, faster, and a think crazier :D It can be a good thing as well as a bad thing :)
Rancho is beautiful. I just wanted to ask, how is he and did you find that the nose popping and hand waving in his face play when he was mid-grown, to have turned out to be any problem? He seemed frustrated with it.
Thanks for watching! Good question :) It's actually just play :) We still do it now. But Rancho never bites for real. That's just a rough kind of play :) He never showed any signs of agression. I know that it may look scary for people whose dogs are more mellow, but it's actually very innocent.
Dogs weren't designed to be put into cages ( any more than humans were). I would have 'liked' because the subject is Tervuren Belgian Shepherd, and I co-own one of these remarkable dogs. There is NO need to put one of these dogs in a cage.
Ronja As far as the coat is concerned, I would say so. Especially in males. Rancho still doesn't have his full adult coat now and he'll soon be 2 years old. lt's slowly getting darker and longer, and his 'mane' is still growing. But I've also seen younger dogs with full coats, so I guess it depends on the genes🙂
Mine went from light gray all over to a half black dog (it’s a gray tervueren), so the older they get the darker the fur will get :) He is a male and they tend to be darker then the females.
Kalpana Manjari Sahu there's a lot of good breeders where we live and all across Europe as far as I know. I'm sure everywhere else as well I just have no experience with them. Here, they start at 400-500€ (so relatively cheap compared to other "fashionable" breeds) but that shouldn't be the main concern when getting a puppy:)

Yes, they are. They're Rancho's granfather with his son. The tervuren gets darker with age. Rancho is also now much darker than he was then. They were both very successful show dogs. Sadly both died, his grandfather was 15 and a half years old, and the son had cancer and had to be put to sleep at the age of 5 :(
