Superman? No, he with the help of the JL, Mon-El, ect couldn’t stop the invasion of New Krypton.
If I recall Lex Luthor defeated new Krypton with a bomb.
Problem is Viltrumites are a society of warriors that weed out the weak and have no real weakness. All of them that survived are top tier fighters.
Where as Kryptonians are a majority of scientists and such. Like Earth, military is a small population.
Really they would wreck the entire DC Earth if they all showed up.

This is why Batman outside of his own comics is annoying . Fans just say give him prep time and there's nothing he cant do. He is not winning this fight no matter what he does. At best he will annoy them for a bit. He's most likely dying when they send that first one cut it out.

Let's be honest, without plot armor, Batman has no chance, maybe against one Viltrumite, but the whole invasion is simply impossible, of course if we take Batman purely in a vacuum (i.e. without the intervention of Superman or any other heroes)
The same Robot from Invincible showed himself to be much smarter than Bats, in a few years he was able to bring the whole world to prosperity, and he himself build some incredible technologies, while Bats runs around in a bat costume and beats criminals, I understand that this is the essence of the character and so on, but I wouldn't say that he is smarter than Robot, who has a thousand years of experience.
Batman has a Dr Fate helmet in his batcave. Don’t know why this never gets brought up in Batman with prep debates. If he wanted to use it, Batman could just put the helmet on and then solo the verse

But the ring was near empty and batman didn't have a battery to charge it so batman never had a chance to begin with. Although sinestro implied after he killed the crime syndicate lantern that batman could have been a wonderful green lantern if he embraced fear instead of resisting it so batman is not a big threat with the yellow lantern ring even if the ring is at full capacity. Mentally he is not ready.

Do Batman fans realise Vultrimites are just as skilled, tactical and way more experienced than Batman? Batman does not stand a chance even with "prep time" all they need to send is Omniman or Anissa and Batman's finished. Let alone a whole army of them.
They are not nearly as skilled or tactical as Batman. Bruce is considered the world's greatest strategist, even among a planet full of people like Lex Luthor.
Batman does not have the technology nearly as advanced as the viltrumites. Batman with prep time prob cant even stop 1 viltrumite even “IF” he could he would just get outnumbered by all other viltrumites

Recently i was in a couple of bs conversations about Batman fighting likes of The Whole JL roster, Mongul, General Zod, Brainiac and more and i gotta admit it was that bad of a convo that im not gonna talk abt it with someone random irl ever again 💀. First off the guy i am talking about thinks that vader beats Superman cuz of "kRYptoNitE" or because of "ForCe ChOkE" which he couldn't, Supes literally has defeated stronger opponents then a guy with a lightsaber before such as Mongul or Brainiac. But going back into my point, i wish JL tower of babel would never exist (even though it's a great story), because without it we wouldn't have that batgod prep time bs they love doing with batman nowadays 💀. Don't get me wrong i love Batman, one of my top 5 fav superheroes of all time, but i prefer my Batman to be a HUMAN, who makes mistakes sometimes and is street tier character, not a GOD who beats freaking DARKSEID every tuesday. Aight my rant on Bats is done, now what os y'all's take on it? Something funny I find about just the phrasing of Batman with prep time. Is that I feel like the whole reason it is a thing is that in most Batman stories he loses his initial fight against whatever person he is facing in a story. And then either through something he experienced in the first fight or something he learns between the first fight and later rematch, he prepares a strategy for defeating the other person ultimately.
So the reason it actually started being a trope is precisely because he is just human and thus he loses a lot but will eventually use his greatest tool, his mind, to come out on top in the end. Kind of a "it's okay to lose a battle but not the war" situation.
From a powerscaling versus battle perspective, Batman loses to every superhero.
This is my issue with "underdog" superheroes or heroes that don't have any powers. Their presence is always a detriment to their powered members because they have something to prove.
Like Batman being smarter than Superman in ANY REGARD.
Or even more of a battle tactician than Wonder Woman, you know? The woman who spent her life studying amazonian battle tactics.
Even detective work, with Clark and J'onn both being detectives with better powers to make them the best at it. Jonn reads mind and Clark's senses can peak up even the tiniest of clues.
Batman and other non powered heroes only get competency if their powered heroes fail, and how do we see Batman show his competence? Have the powered heroes fail for stupid reasons.
Just have Superman be dumb and the rest of the league so that Batman can be competent.

I had a discussion with someone the other day who said that Batman is special because he never gives up. This ties into your "prep time, win the war, not the battle argument." Except that only makes sense if you've only read Batman. No other superhero, despite their powers, will EVER GIVE UP.
I completely agree with you, Batman's wins with "prep-time" is because of his plot armor. Like the tower of Babel story, it's great yes, but all those contingencies he had for the league really shouldn't have worked on them at all.

The whole "Batman with prep time" thing is...interesting. Batman isn't superhuman and doesn't have godlike powers, so I understand the reason for the whole prep time thing. He really needs this for his character to function the way it does. Without this skill he just flat out wouldn't be able to take down the type of crazy powerful villains he's been known to smash. Compared to other Superheroes, without prep time Batman doesn't have a whole lot to fall back on. I think one of the problems here is we can't seem to agree if Batman should always have prep time. Where do we draw the line? Should Batman be automatically credited with prep time every time a "Batman vs x" topic comes up?

If anyone believes 1 human can defeat an army of lesser Superman powered foes, you are detached from any semblance of reality, comic books or not. Batman is one of the trinity, he 100% has plot armor, hes DCs biggest seller. He has to, but even with that said, they can level the entire country in minutes Batman is in. Look at how fast Omi-Man flew through the alien city decimating it with his speed. What would happen if they did that? Nothing Batman could do would stop that, at all. They coukd throw a meteorite onto earth and destroy the tectonic plates and covering the earth in dust creating and ice age. Batman cant even stop Darkseid invasions or Darkseid by himself. Its crazy to even think 1 man could stop an army of Omi-Men.
