That’s the story with the beautiful girl who lives alone in a forest. Some boy sees her when they’re kids and pursues her relentlessly until one day they get married. And then he constantly asks about the green ribbon around her neck until they’re weak and old. When she feels it’s her last days, she calls him to her and tells him to untie the ribbon, only for her head to fall off with it.
Ik this comment isn’t serious but I like to think her mom is super over bearing and always told her she’s not allowed. The “my mom made me practice every day” when she looks at the piano also makes me think this. 😂

I think one of my favorite parts about the aesthetics of this game is that (as you mentioned) the character model is very PS1, but the background seems like a pre-rendered background of that era. It's not just the difference in higher details and textures vs the model, but also stuff like the angle that they chose. It's obviously not, y'know, pre-rendered but I found myself forgetting that for a moment every so often while playing. Very neat!
that's the cool thing about this game, everything looks like a pre-rendered background but then you can rotate the camera to look in any direction, and often have to to solve puzzles. the developers said they wanted to emulate the way people remember PS1 games looking rather than what would've actually been possible on the hardware, and you can definitely tell.
Yeah, it’s obviously inspired by RE 2&3 on Ps1 (I’m old, used to play those with my cousin/friends) and they had those pre-rendered backgrounds. I didn’t get the same feeling with this game though, because I remember that the pre-rendered backgrounds from those games used to stand out (especially in Resident Evil). They were much higher quality than the animated/interactable assets of the game. I remember especially the Racoon Police Building looking AMAZING back then in the 90’s. We were like “woah this is the future” 😂
What left to be truely PS1 is that game must be able to run on my phone like I playin slient hill and FPS at 30. There also some deberis effect stuff that remain on the ground. PS1 game wont let that for crappy old software reason.
@@yggdrasil4986 I got that feeling playing Parasite Eve. I couldn't, and still can't, play Resident Evil; those games are way too scary for me. I'll never forget the very first time I tried to play RE when it came out. I jumped so high when the dog crashed through the window I'm surprised my skeleton is still in my body. I can watch horror media or read horror stories, but I cannot play even Baby's First Horror games. I tried Dead Space when it came out and those damn fetus monsters scared me so badly I also flipped the couch over from jumping up so hard. I’m only an hour in but here are my thoughts: Strange how Mara is not shocked/surprised at all by the monsters and doesn’t question their existence, already knew the symptoms of this mysterious illness, insisted on Crow still being there, and doesn’t bat an eye at Julie or question her motives. I’m gonna say she is actually Elaine, who’s now an adult. So far, there’s nothing to indicate that Elaine perished from her injuries. I remember when she was talking to that guy (Andrew or Anthony) she mentioned that she had the same symptoms too. Looking forward to finishing this vid lol
I also haven't finished the video but i think that when mara was talking with julie, she saw a picture of a really young elaine, and it is literally just like her

Maybe you joined the police to investigate that traumatic event?
Definitely agree - At the start it sounds like she's practising introducing herself. Her name also could be based on her surname (Mara, Marshall) The way she says she's 'not allowed to' smoke rather than 'I don't smoke' also makes it sound like she's younger than she claims to be The way she interacts with people also makes it seem like she's just not a cop, rather than a cop gone rogue - she never shows her ID or interrogates people's reasons for being on the premises (Arthur was injured and needed help, but that lawyer was clearly also trespassing)

I recommended this game two weeks ago, just two days before he made this video. It's crazy he hopped on this game so quickly. I'm aware he definitely did not see my suggestion. Still a cool coincidence ❤
Its been over a week and this game is still everywhere. Thats very hard to do nowadays. 🤘💀
what a wonderfully styled game, so nostalgic yet so new and refreshing.. very excited for more! also Brazil mention 😸
Ahh excellent. Manly is finally playing. I wouldn't expect less
Honestly every time I see a trashcan in one of these games I expect it to contain a Manly reference
Awwwwwww .... Noooooo I can't wait for part two! Omg so awesome!
I really wish TH-cam gave you more of a percentage, you definitely deserve it! They're vampires! The bad kind!!
YES I was hoping you'd cover this one.
Ya know what, Crow Country would be pretty rad if it were a real Theme Park. To incorporate the additional zombies(?), during light hours things would be normal, then once it gets late, have paid actors come out and walk around as them. I'd go and see that!
The inventory screen reminds me of resident evil. Maybe it's an inspiration from the 2000s games?
