Seriously loving this build Robbie. Thank you for always inspiring me to do more and push myself. You’ve helped me and lots of others with their lives so I just want to say thank you. Staying committed from the UK!
Pro level here. All your videos will be timeless. I loved that angle out the window. Plus thank you for the messages at the end of the videos, really helps.
Robbie we grew up using mean green is a great product. I tested it versus greased lightning to get brake dust off, the grease lightning is much better, however if you can find Purple Power it is much better for automotive grime.
Fun Fact, Hawkeyes had the best front AND rear calipers out of every USDM WRX (02-Current). Not sure why that happened (they downgraded them back down in 08 lol), but these 4/2 pot calipers are actually excellent. The are also called the "gravel spec" brake setup, rally guys prefer these over the STI brembos due to them having similar performance but being smaller to fit rally wheels. Also the fading is most likely due to the rears being aluminum and the fronts are steel. Also the rear bleeders are different sized from the fronts. For m 04 WRX I actually had a set of STI brembos that I sold for a set of these 06/07 brakes. For street use these were more than enough and I have more wheel choices and less-expensive rotors and pads. The STI brembos are also notorious for requiring timeserts/helicoils due to them being aluminum.
Get a master cylinder brace helps with break feel a ton! Love seeing your journey yours with the wagon is what started mine years ago and seeing you do the same stuff is so awesome for me lol thank you homie and good luck!
Im always gonna love the subies . I have a blobeye wagon and sadly I'm selling it right now. Moving on to something else but after 5 yrs of fixing and upgrading im just looking for something new to get into. Been looking into some e46s and I might go for it.
I’ll be honest, I found your channel a few years ago with the Genesis and Civic build and I honestly didn’t liked it. But i’ll admit that now I’m hooked up and I’ve watch every video in your channel and thanks to you now I want to buy a Silverado 1500 👍🏻 Can’t believe i didn’t get engaged back then, i guess now I’m part of the best subs in YT 😎🔥 PLEASE DO ANOTHER SILVERADO (or any truck) BUILD lol I’m starting to like them 😩💔
I wanted to get the header from the last video but I fell into the "upgrade oil pan/cooler" category Rip lol. Can't wait to see the warm-weather wheel setup! Apr extended studs FTW
hey just some tips, drilled rotors rlly dont do anything nowdays(i think slotted dont do anything too, but im not sure about those), before they helped idk if it was with gases or with dust, but yeah, not now, they still sell them for cool points and thats it, they are a weak point, so just use them for street use, dont get that close to the track, they crack and shit, with that said, i get you put the grase on the back of the pads so it doesnt stick to the caliper, but that was way too much for that reason, and idk if you did (looks like you didnt, maybe im wrong) but that grease is to lube everi thing that MOVES, so every contact point that the pad has(not with the rotor ofc), those pins that hold it and do as guide etc, i think in this desing the only rely on the pins to move, but when you were putting the grease you didnt cover the holes, and that pin did look a little dry, happy to see you again! just when i thougth it was some time since robie left at the next day i got the notification and i was soo happy
Squealers go on the bottom. That's the only thing that bothers me here. Other than that killer job!!! Also I'm looking at hawk pads and rotors for my "poor man's big brake setup" on my 94 civic. You've convinced me
I'm not comparing you or your videos to Scotty kilmer, but he said slotted and drilled rotors are meant for cars that go really fast, not really used for the street. Can I ask as a bro, why do guys put drilled and slotted rotors on their cars if they're not going to go 200 mph? Just wondering, thanks. I know they're supposed to help reduce the temperatures, but I hear they are as good for breaking because there's less surface area
Seems like typical Subaru stuff. Probably ran the factory brakes till they hit the metal and then slapped on the cheapest aftermarket slotted rotors and parts store pads they could grab. Brake fluid has probably never been changed, brakes probably never been bled, coolant has probably been in there so long. It tastes like sweet and sour sauce and is acidic enough to be eating away at gaskets. If you haven't already, I'd throw a whole timing kit in there. Everybody makes a big deal out of it but four 10 mm bolts, to electrical plugs, and two clamps pull the whole radiator and fan assembly like another 12 10mm's to take the covers off and since you shouldn't reuse anything, I always unbolt either the tensioner or the water pump first to let the tension off the belt. Throw on all the new idlers water pump and tensioner and there's a bread clip style clamps you can get in a four pack from harbor freight for $5 are perfect for holding the belt on the cam where you want it (top driver side usually has tension in my experience). Once you got your belt on clamp to where it needs to be pulled, the grenade pin off the tensioner and crank it over a few times to make sure your marks keep lining up. Then throw the covers back on and the radiator/fan assembly and fill it back up with fresh coolant. I know shops that will charge over $1,000 but It is absolutely an easy job any person can do by themselves in an afternoon. I think it took me 3 hours my first time but I'm down closer to an hour now.
Brakes are the thing everyone seems to forget about till they absolutely need replacing, yet it's an insanely important thing, you need to be able to stop.
Always a good day when Robbie uploads! If you’re ever looking for a Mill for making your special parts I’d love to hook you up with a deal from my new business! Ofc no shoutout or add required
Robbie... did you just think to unwind those springs to dump it? There is another adjustment at the lower knuckle of the strut. Please don't do that 🤣🤘🏼🤘🏼
I have seen that you are searching for a editor and i was just wondering if that means we are going to get more car content or if you need time go start different projects related or unrelated to this chanel ?(i know you usually dont answer to comments cuz it just takes too long but a like to this comment i uderstand its a yes between one of this two)
Highlight of my day is when these videos get uploaded

You're not supposed to come to a complete stop when bedding in the pads. It burns the pad into the rotor and will cause a shudder.
I’ve seen different directly from manufacturer instruction before
@@SpecialFXKing It's common sense dude.
Get steel braided brake line replacements will help a ton with pedal feel
The go pro out the window is actually a pretty good idea

Came here to support Mac stayed for the awesome content
Good seeing that you back hell yea ur the reason I started to work on my car 🙏🏻👌never gets old your advice 🙏🏻
You pulled that first wheel off and I kept waiting for the Robbieism "custy"
Nice work you did keep it up but I would suggest that you also upgrade the braided clutch and brake lines too
So glad you’re back man, and with no loss of vigor.
I wonder how the subie would look with the stock brz wheels on it? Also Robbie, have you thought of a name for the wrx?
Not a WRX guy but I’m watching and enjoying it and happy Robbie is back.
Steel braided lines will help tremendously with brake feel and stiffen up the brake pedal. Definetly worth the 200 dollars

So stoked we can see the new videos! We sure missed them!
Guaranteed it’s another banger 😁
Totally understand the want for brake upgrades Robbie! I put Ralliart brakes on my base model Lancer and it's such a game changer!
the z just sold me on the hawk pads that was great promotional material
Dude! What was that camera you were using when you were driving? That was so rad!

oem 4/2 pot subaru brakes brand new just have a color difference front to rear. probably something to do with being different metals. no idea.
LOVE the Subaru stuff. Hoping to get the Outback XT motor in my Outback this summer
Listening from QC and so glade ur back man 👌😤
Frankie 🥹😍 also love the arm out the window shots!

very nice video robbie. im looking forward to doing my brakes this spring, might have to buy that brand if they have em for crown vics :)
Bruh! I'm vibing, great job!
I still vote Sparco Terra for the Subaru, to give it that rally look.
If you like these front calipers, just so you know they fit right on the brz! Did it on mine !
Hurray for subaru legos, I think the pedals are the exact same as well lol
Appreciate the cars reference
This thing is sweet!
Love seeing you back Robby
Thank you Robbie.
That "Cars" movie reference made me laugh like crazy
How did he learn to work on his cars did he go college ?

Get some DBA rotors , I have the 4000 series slotted cross drilled with bindex race pads. Stop a bus.
this was my favorite series. can we please get some love for this car ❤
Where can i get the same break calipers at
One subby I'd love to see you build.. probably impossible to find in Canada. The subby Brat
Can I get that brand of rotors and pads for my 2010 hyundai genesis coupe non brembos
Can u put subtittles on Portugal?
Great advice man
Careful with degreasers and rubber seals
I mean rust happens from oxidation. Nothing to do with winter or water

Brakes are the thing everyone seems to forget about till they absolutely need replacing, yet it's an insanely important thing, you need to be able to stop.
Also another fun fact, the Subaru 4/2's are the same as the 300ZX calipers lol
Yeeeeeew ! 🤙🏻🤙🏻
