Ethan lost his hearing due to the antibiotics that saved his life in the NICU. He was sick with Haemophilus , possible meningitis, and sepsis within the first 24 hours of life. He struggled to stay alive there for 4 weeks, and flat-lined a few times. It was a miracle that he made it through the illness. Now After a year of waiting our baby boy can hear voices.

I pray that all babies can hear. And if some of then cannot, instead of building weapons we should invest vin their well-being in all countries.

He looked like he was thinking -- if I pretend nothing just happened it will go away. He is so sweet. The smile he gave his mom was so precious.
he's like 'what is this strange new worldd?' but every time he looks at his mom he smiles.

How are they sure he is hearing at that age? Most children look at a mommy that is smiling at them and smiles back without her saying anything. The hearing aid is not in his ear. So im confused.
He is adorable and i do hope he is hearing them. But he wasn't looking at dad when he was clicking his figures or blinking as most do when hearing sound.

Sheila Dang we call both our sons buddy, just a nickname that we grew up around. 😊
I think that parents in North America often call their children "buddy", rather than referring only to their adult peers as "buddies". From this usage, there seems to be no difference in roles between a dependant child and guiding, nourishing, protective parent figures. Recipe for future problems where kids become disrespect
