I'm happy I went Legends front and rear. What a difference. Thanks for the information. I'm lucky to have found you a few days ago. I tried to look up all FLHCS or FLHC owners since last July 23rd.
So to update the saga of my snapped off rear shock adjuster. The dealership reinstalled the adjuster for free with who knows what bolt. My HD extended warranty will not pay for the damage to my rear fender stating incidental damage. That doesnt seem like standing behind your product HD.
@@RidersUnited what makes it worse was the service manager came across as less then my advocate with the warranty company. He said well you are only talking about a few bikes this has happened too. Really? You just had 2 in the same day, same year and model bike.
Incidental damage - so it's only HD's fault if the problem's more widespread? If that's the case I'd start a war before shelling out for repair work. Sorry to hear it man.
I just had this happen to my 2018 114. The real question is why is there any force on it strong enough to break a steel bolt? It headed to the HD dealership for warranty repair and a replaced rear fender at a minimum now.
While I know this issue is serious I still try to figure out as well what is causing this. I have to say I am puzzled by this as well. Some said flex of seat pan might hit this spot causing it to brake but I will expect some marks should be visible if this is the case. Any chance you can check or ask dealer to take a picture?
Man I wish I could remember this little detail but it was nothing special I am sure you will find it in your toolbox. If possible make sure it is grade 8 or higher.

Thank you very much. Glad you like it, if it can help at least one person to avoid this unfortunate issue that makes me happy already.

Are those the softail slim risers?
De luxe risers
HD dealer told me they drill out the hole for a thicker bolt to fit. Last week.
Yes this is what recall procedure say. Seems like I caught this issue way before recall

@@RidersUnited Im 165lbs so it shouldnt flex a lot for me.
@@AICD1999 yes I have seen your post on FB. Hard to say how much it flex but I also feel this is not real cause. Weird issue no doubt.
It happened to me fresh off of the lot bent my fender all to crap. Covered all by warranty but yes agree change it to a better bolt
Yup such a silly fail on manufacturing part.
Wow!!! I had no idea! Thanks for sharing. And, I think you need a bigger screwdriver!
hahahah you think so? :)
Did you use a case hardened bolt ?
That would be the best option to use grade 8 or higher bolt. I use one I got in my toolbox so hope it was one of the stronger ones
what was the bolt size and thread?
