I first heard this song as a 17 year old kid. As a guitar player, I fell in love with this song. I said one day if I am lucky enough to have a daughter, her name will be Rylynn. At the time I'm writing this, it is 7/12/24 at 4:12am. I'm now 33 and my wife just gave birth to our baby girl Rylynn Jade at 2:50am. I just finished playing this song for her in recovery and she fell asleep listening to the music. Rest well my queen ♥️ Simply put, thank you Andy McKee for this amazing song and your amazing music. As both someone who loves the music and appreciates amazing guitar playing, this hits home ♥️

I remember finding this song when I was 18. I just moved back home after running away at the age of 15. I felt so lost and hopeless. I sobbed listening to this. It hit so hard, and I can’t explain why. I’m nearly 29, married, have a daughter, and am doing alright. So glad to search this song again, and see it to, has grown. Thanks Andy.
Welcome home, a few years late. It pleases me to hear that you got it together and now have a family. I can't remember when I first heard this song, but it was a long time ago. A friend sent me a link to his cover of Toto's Africa and that lead me to several of his songs. This one struck me (and still does) as a combination of a lullaby and a love song. It's quite emotional and works very well. McKee's playing is so tasty. I'm grateful to have his music in my life.
That's amazing. I had a messed up childhood as well, I'm 28 now but have achieved nothing, living day to day hoping to hold out killing myself until my Mum passes. Glad it works out for some.
Andy wrote on his album “This song is dedicated to Rylynn Coffman, a young girl as lovely and unique as her name. Although she came and went through this world so quickly, she will never be forgotten.”
He wrote on his Facebook in 2014: You all have really made me emotional with your pictures of your daughters named Rylynn. The first one here is Rylynn Coffman. She was the lovely daughter of my friends Ryan and Ramey. Sadly, she passed from a genetic disorder at the age of 3.

Love the new arrangement with the ending melody at the intro! Always been an absolute favorite tune! Just wish the mic could've been a bit hotter, or positioned closer and more towards the bridge. There was a good bit of noise from the lower half of the neck picked up in the outro hammer-ons.
It's interesting to see and hear the changes he has made since the original version. But, this is BY FAR my favorite piece from Andy! Amazing piece. Brilliant. Why? The story behind him writing this piece will pull your heart strings. It's a sad story that resulted in a great tribute, and a beautiful piece of music. Without the story, this piece would not be possible. There is a lot of pain behind this song, and it was translated so beautifully in composition, that it brings a smile to my face. This is one of the best tribute pieces ever written, and one of the most elegant and wonderful sounds to grace a guitar. Mastery and excellence. Well done. Very well done.

What a beautiful Sound with Greenfields Guitars !
Thank you for being there for some key moments in my life, Andy.
Such a beautiful and evocative song. Andy is truly a master of his art.
Maybe the best version of Rylynn yet. Perfect guitar.
Please do the Never grow old this way. It would be great.
My youngest daughter is named Rylynn simply because of this song. Just tonight I played it for her (she is now 4, I found this song almost over a decade ago) and we danced to it. When I first heard this song, I swore my future daughter would be named Rylynn simply because of the amazing innocence and dance like feeling this song portrays. Dancing with my daughter tonight to this song tonight fulfilled a portion of my life I didn’t know I needed to happen. Thank my Mr. McKee.
I've been listening to this song since I was little. As I grow up, the song sounds different. Tears come out now when I hear it. I miss the memories of the past.
This make my mind come at ease, and reminisce about the good in life.
I remember it was exactly eight years ago when I discovered Rylynn on TH-cam and started learning it! Andy McKee was the one who kindled my interest in fingerstyle guitar playing. Thank you sir, you're a legend!
Love the sounds of those melodies its so calming.
It's probably the best song on TH-cam, since it was one of the first to go viral. And yea, its been 10yrs ago but masterpiece is a masterpieace.
Yet again 😊 I love this piece.

Sounds like a realy new guitar, almost bell-like tone that doest want to vibrate yet - must be wondrous to feel that masterpiece of craftsmanship develop in your hands over years.
You took my thoughts out of my head.
