    How this hasn't been turned into a single plugin is beyond me in 2022. Blender is used so much in 3D printing now, that it amazes me that you still have 2 dozen steps to take to create a mesh displacement.

    Thanks! I have looked all over for help with texturing for 3D printing. This helps a lot. It looks like a key to success is to raise the face and separate what I want to add texture to... the gold nugget I’ve been searching for for days.

      I’ve been literally scurrying all of TH-cam trying to find this tutorial 😂 I started by looking into how to make alpha or vdm brushes and then trying to use tesselation with the tissue add on but none were as customizable or as good of results as this tutorial. I’d pay for your patreon if you made more videos like this with just a few minute tease trailer on TH-cam😂 and I’ve never paid for a patreon like that.

    Had learned this technique about 2 years ago but have not used Blender in about a year and had completely forgotten the workflow and was somewhat panicked at the prospect of learning it all over from scratch again. Thank goodness for your video which is now saved! Fantastic job all around. Much appreciated!

    It'd be great if Blender turned this into one plugin, just adding a textured grip to a prop is agony to figure out and you'd think they'd notice that by now. That being said, thanks man you helped out a ton

    • @andrevaccaro3346
      @andrevaccaro3346 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the main issue your discussing is the UV mapping, besides that everything is just click and customize, you could retopo with auto retopology addons like quad remesher and you can just apply the displacement with whatever uv map you want so it’s mainly setting up the uv which I get becuase it’s been holding me back from making more in blender for a while. Looked so confusing and it still kinda is😂

    I wanted to do something similar and came up with pretty much the same process (which I find very affirming!). One difference was that after the first decimate, I'd take the file over to meshmixer and use the re-mesh tools there.

    • @Andrey-rc6wp
      @Andrey-rc6wp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You could also use the quad remesher addon. Thats what i would do straight inside of blender.

    Can you do a vido for retopology, i see une that use a cube and subdivide to "wrap" a mess model (i mean its mesh have a lot o polygons) but, with the previous version of blender, and i culd'nt do it.

    I have a question. Is it possible to bake displacement map on a low poly model just like that with the normal map?
    So that I can apply my map to a low poly model with the same hight information of the high poly model.
    I have seen tutorials but the result is similar to that of the normal map, which gives me fake hight information. I want the real hight information on the low poly model,
    I want to bake the hight info on a low poly without increasing the subdivisions, Because increasing subdivisions will make it high poly not low poly, which I dont want.

    • @CR-qc9sl
      @CR-qc9sl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A normal map is always fake hight information. If you want the real hight, you get a high poly.

      @@Andrey-rc6wp well... there is still the basic "Task manager" in windows where you can check your cpu and memory usage as well as gpu/vram usage and such which is good enough for the most part. Shortcut to open is ctrl+shift+esc.
