This is exactly what i needed! I’m always wondering how people create an intricate pattern for the resin figure and you give answer to the question with this video 😂
I wat using a reptile skin, but I did not detach the piece. I instead put all the selected area in a vertex group. The problem was I had to use the multirez modifier to get the pixels needed, and it did it for the entire mesh. Then I went into sculpting and used the remesh to get my triangle count below a mililion. I liked the results, but for a more precise pattern, your way is probably better.
I can model almost anything in blender, but this texture thing escapes me. Its like my settings are all wrong, because when I try to load one, i have to set it to like .002 to make it have any texture, and I cant get image textures to work at all. I am in blender 4.2. Anyone have a link to a video that will show me how to set my settings up for mm for 3d printing, so that my tools and things act accordingly with tutorials?
i don't know if you still read the comments on this video, but I was wondering if you had a solution regarding seamless displacement textures? I'm trying to 3d print chainmail onto one of my models and I can't seem to find a way to resolve the misalignment between the front and back of my model.
Thanks so much, this is exactly what I was looking for. 50 million tutorials on UV unwrapping, but nothing on application until I found this, tks again
It'd be great if Blender turned this into one plugin, just adding a textured grip to a prop is agony to figure out and you'd think they'd notice that by now. That being said, thanks man you helped out a ton
I think the main issue your discussing is the UV mapping, besides that everything is just click and customize, you could retopo with auto retopology addons like quad remesher and you can just apply the displacement with whatever uv map you want so it’s mainly setting up the uv which I get becuase it’s been holding me back from making more in blender for a while. Looked so confusing and it still kinda is😂
this is a built in "activity monitor" in ubuntu linux. I'm unaware of any windows or mac variants of this app. HW Info for windows maybe? I havent' used windows in half a decade so I'm a bit out of date for windows apps sorry!
@@Andrey-rc6wp well... there is still the basic "Task manager" in windows where you can check your cpu and memory usage as well as gpu/vram usage and such which is good enough for the most part. Shortcut to open is ctrl+shift+esc.
How this hasn't been turned into a single plugin is beyond me in 2022. Blender is used so much in 3D printing now, that it amazes me that you still have 2 dozen steps to take to create a mesh displacement.
while it looks fun, cool and all, how detailed should the SLA printer is capable of, 20 micron?(8k 6inch, double that of phrozen mini4k) I'm thinking of 1/6th scale figurine
Sure if you're willing to pay $40 a month to specifically do this. Sure the experience may be better with Zbrush, but the final look will basically be the same.
Had learned this technique about 2 years ago but have not used Blender in about a year and had completely forgotten the workflow and was somewhat panicked at the prospect of learning it all over from scratch again. Thank goodness for your video which is now saved! Fantastic job all around. Much appreciated!
Hi I came back to suscribe and tell you how much you help me. You're aweome, thank you so much (sorry for the bad english I'm chilean and we even suck at spanish)
Please: how can you edit the displacement map UV mapping ? I can only do this for redering-time textures but not for displacement maps... For example, if I want to rotate the displacement map, how can I do this ? can you explain how to obtain this ? Many thanks !
Can you do a vido for retopology, i see une that use a cube and subdivide to "wrap" a mess model (i mean its mesh have a lot o polygons) but, with the previous version of blender, and i culd'nt do it.

Thank you! This is a brilliant video
Андрюха, спасибо большое! Где ж твоё видео было раньше...
thanks man needed this
wow
i love it...thanks!
i want that texture image could u give me that
40gig?bruh
So very wonderful. thank you so very very much. I wish I could give you some kind of review
That was a great tutorial, rich content and very well delivered. Thank you!

Thanks for your video and HUGE thanks for sharing this pecious knowledge!!
You should try the tissue add on! Save a a lot of time and works better in these cases i think
1:51 How did you select all the faces on a single click?
probably L
awesome, just what i needed!
limited dissolve might get you better results than decimate.
thanks a lot! you saved me(: this is the best tutorial i have seen about displace modifier and uv in general
Wow, fantastic. Thanks!

very fast. not key hot. but very cool.
Thx!!!
What app are you using to display the system monitoring on the right hand side about 5:21 in the video?

Business idea right there. I'm ready to invest lmao.

Very cool
Textures/pattern can just be a picture? Flat? Sorry noob question.
6:30 , or just use ZBrush lol

@@Andrey-rc6wp just kidding :) I appreciate for the video 🙌
Thank you sooo much this is THE explaination I was looking for !!
will have to watch in slo-mo.. not newbie friendly

Is that honeycomb texture a png file?
That's correct. You don't have to have a png. jpegs work as well.
@@Andrey-rc6wp Ok, thanks
That's one strong PC build!
Sucks you dont do more tutorials, you are awesome at it!
great vid. subbed!
Nice! I always thought you need a bump map to get this effect.
Bump maps only work in rendering.

Andrey, you need to update your about details on TH-cam to link your socials like twitter etc :) Nice work!
thanks a lott
I can feel the heat coming off my computer from just looking a this. good video though

I explained that in this video
WOW YEAH HOW WOW WOOOHO OOOOOOOOOOOOF YEAH OMG WOW HAHAHAH
Are you having a stoke or something?
@@Andrey-rc6wp wow, how do you print stuff?
@@Andrey-rc6wp yes
probably my mistake but there is no texture thing to click on under my material props. You just say bring in ur texture and im like hooooow
2:20 you have to be out of edit mode.

Sure! Keep an eye out over the next few days :)
Plz continue with beginners tutorials really like how you explain.
