Villinova junction at Woodstock is my favorite Hendrix song. I heard he was leaning towards miles Davis vibe before his death.

Well, Hendrix played with John McLaughlin. There’s a terrible recording of one time they played.
I have read many a bio on Jimi, and I could imagine him saying that he was scared, out of respect for players, but he wasn’t intimidated. Recent out and jammed with everyone of the best players in London and New York, whenever he was there.
Jimi was also finishing his own next album, that he was meant to finish, and/or move on to the project, that Jimi called Black Gold, that had an entire concept. It had been sitting in Mitch Mitchell’s storage unit for decades, when while scouring for any new Jimi recordings, for a box set, and future releases, by the then Al Hendrix owned company, Mitch found it.
A lot of demos Jimi had done on a tape recorder, with written notes on the project.
Jimi also recorded tracks for a contract he had with the company producing the Rainbow Bridge movie, and a cartoon, that Jimi had been working on with another person.
He only did the last European tour, in order to pay off what was needed to finish Electric Ladyland. They were already recording people, before it was even finished.
Quincy sounds like he was having a moment, like Albert Ming did, back in the 70’s, when he said harsh things about Jimi.

I really dont know the man and I'm talking out of my ass, but it feels to me like the dude is coping about the missed opportunity. I mean, Jimi Hendrix remains a cultural icon. Still the GOAT of rock n roll... Had he had him on an album it would've done great for him. But he just missed out, and since Jimi died, he never got the chance.
