I really wish I had played Gen 5 competitive, because every time I hear about the Weather Wars, they sound like this epic, almost mythical battle between players to see who could out predict the other and keep their weather alive longest. And I loved that Ninetales rose to become the sun setter, since it's always been an aesthetically pleasing Pokemon in my eyes, regardless of if it's Fire or Ice. Can you please do a video about the Weather Wars at some point in the future?
Yeah weather wars was pretty fun, combined with hidden abilities changing lots of new pokemon and all the new additions, I really think people hate it too much. Although I have to say the power creep was REAL with all the strong pokemon spamming gem boosted attacks. Anyways you can still play an active meta for gen5 on Pokemon Showdown, there's even a competitive ladder for it.

It still baffles me that Ninetales was never given a secondary Ghost or Psychic typing. I mean, it's based on both a yokai and powerful oni from Japanese mythology and most of its 'dex entries talk about its psychic powers and penchant for curses. No idea if this would have helped or hurt it competitively, but still.
God, I've said that for years. Pretty much why I was so happy when in later generations it started using dark, psychic and ghost type moves. Like a secondary typing like that would have made is so unique and yet true to what it is! Of the three, I think ghost type would have been appropriate, and let it be the only ghost type that's still alive!
I had a ninetales i received through a shiny trade in x and y which had perfect stats, fire blast, solar beam, hidden power and willo wisp. It’s ability was drought and held charcoal and it was brutal. It would even take out other fire types with one-two fire blasts
The reason why Ninetales fell all the way to PU in XY was not just because drought was no longer permanant, but because the UU tier leaders at the time were experimenting with a different way of processing bans, and never allowed drought or drizzle in UU or any tier beneath. So Ninetales was stuck with Flash Fire. It probably still wouldn't have been an excellent poke even with drought, but I don't think it would've fallen to PU.

This video was one I’ve been waiting for-Alolan Ninetales is my all-time favourite! So thank you for making this! Even if it’s true that it’s not good for most of its competitive career, it’s still had some high points for gen 5 and 7. Evidently, at its best place in the meta game, it provided invaluable support by the utility it brings with its weather-sun or hail. I’m proud of it.
Well, there are 4 unique hail setters at the moment: Ninetales, Abomasnow, Vanilluxe, and Aurorus. Each of them bring something special that sets it apart from one another. Abomasnow is the OG Hail setter, whose distinction is its ability to Mega Evolve as well as having Leech Seed; it is statiscally bulky but terribly slow and exploitable because of its Typing. Next is Aurorus, whose special quality is its ability to set Hail AND Stealth Rock in the same turn; it is also slow and exploitable. Then there's Vanilluxe, who doesn't have any notable utility moves, but is naturally more powerful than the other Snow Warning Pokemon (except Mega Abomasnow), so it has the best Blizzards between the four, but that's it. Ninetales is the most valuable between the 4 because it has Aurora Veil AND Snow Warning, allowing it to enable a large variety of fearsome offensive powerhouses; as such, it fits more easily in a team in comparison. That said, When comparing Alolan Ninetails against Mega Charizard, Tyranitar, and Pelliper, it is less useful than them. But its unique combination of speed, Fairy STAB, and a variety of supportive options gave it a moment to shine in tournaments and a niche in the OU meta game.
gregar34 Yeah, hopefully! Power creep will be a thing unfortunately. Even if it falls off the OU meta, I don’t mind. My friends and I aren’t that particular when it comes to “what’s the meta” anyway. We just like to use Pokémon we love, which is totally the point!
Marcus Tullius Cicero He defiantly needs to do them, he mentioned them in the Sneasel and Weavile video about how they were used more than Sneasel and Weavile.
Man, I got a little scared with how you were wording the ways to counteract Aurora Veil. I use it on my four-weather-plus-Mew-and-Castform doubles team and was worried that Showdown was wrong or misleading when it showed Aurora Veil persisting when the weather changed after it's been set. Honestly Alolan Ninetales is B Tier overall, it can be inconsistent, but it is part of one of the strongest teams rn, which consist of Alolatales, Zygarde, Manaphy, and Mega Zam. This team also further proved how powerful all of these pokemon can be, increasing their ranks within the OU tier. Its still too powerful for UU (got banned immediately when it dropped back down to UU, though it would go back up to OU) but is inconsistent in OU.
4:53 energy ball > solar beam. Neither does much, but if you're likely going to run into the more common politoed and ttar which will take advantage of ninetales trying to use solar beam by hitting them with a meh supereffective move rather than getting caught and fainting because ninetales tried to charge a solar beam
@@sunsetinseoul Please read through and think again, no it doesn't charge immediately due to drought or drizzle, we are talking about scenarios where politoed/tyranitar are already in or turns where you try to predict them switching in so you go for your grass type move. In both situations drizzle/sand stream activates making solar beam a burden. Add that the grass type move on ninetales is usually only used against teams that use rain or sandstorm and energy ball becomes a whole lot more useful because it keeps your drought set up a whole lot safer.

its the tier lower than PU in usage. its not official, but it has its own public room on pokemon showdown, and has a rotational ladder. the S rank of the tier is rotom frost. and electivire is one of the best pokemon there, being A-.
he has reviewed shit like meganium and flareon, which are undoubtedly way worse than electivire. and jumpluff got a video too, and unown (its unlisted but there is still a video). why wouldn't it at this point?
Honestly, stop with this list. Many of his older videos are outdated now that the channel grew big with a Patreon and the such. Voting for a remake on, for example, Gengar, is perfectly acceptable. Kellen has actually said so himself. Gengar is actually the best example here, the video is only 10 minutes long for what's arguably the Pokémon that had the biggest impact on every metagame. It desperately needs to be remade.
Gwarta Big I think he meant HP Fight since it's actually a decent option on Ninetales during gen 5 because of Tyranitar, (Air Balloon) Heatran, and Ferrothorn.

Also whats with the fact that this comment section is only suggestions for other videos, enjoy the one you already have guys.
''Comment on what Pokémon you want to see next''
beunjoris youd think this guy watches his vids till the end but I guess not 😂😂
Its sad...weather wars pumped it up. Was playing scared gold/storm silver and ran the main game with sought ninetales in Gen 4- tons of fun and that's where it saw the most use....
Well I do I just kinda forgot about it tbh xD. Still I was literally the only non-request comment I could find at the time I posted it.
I'll remove the patreon bit
Honestly Alolan Ninetales is B Tier overall, it can be inconsistent, but it is part of one of the strongest teams rn, which consist of Alolatales, Zygarde, Manaphy, and Mega Zam. This team also further proved how powerful all of these pokemon can be, increasing their ranks within the OU tier. Its still too powerful for UU (got banned immediately when it dropped back down to UU, though it would go back up to OU) but is inconsistent in OU.
How GOOD was Ditto ACTUALLY
I'll never give up
Great news
There is one
4:53 energy ball > solar beam. Neither does much, but if you're likely going to run into the more common politoed and ttar which will take advantage of ninetales trying to use solar beam by hitting them with a meh supereffective move rather than getting caught and fainting because ninetales tried to charge a solar beam
It charges immediately because of Drought.
False swipe gaming Thank you for finally deciding to skip over the metas without notable performances. Your dedication to tell us EVERYTHING about the Pokémon’s usage had actually negatively impacted how good your videos were.
How GOOD was Celebi ACTUALLY?
How good was Politoed Actually?
"From fiery origins throughout the ice cold present."
Oh how accurate you really are with real life.... Really!
It's really too bad because it was one of my favorite pokémon since rby. Still, I have fun using it in the virtual console and the alolan form was so cool.
Now it’s partner. How good was sandslash actually.

How good was Ditto actually?
Niche.
Alolan Ninetales is my second favorite Pokemon of all time, it's very strong in the Alola games too, i enjoyed using one in Ultra Sun and she crushed everything that was weak to her, best Alolan Form imo.
Honestly a few years from now if this ever got a remake the Grn 8 section would be hype
I find it weird how alolan ninetales is quad week to steel type moves if the regular form resists it that is oh so weird
Like Sandlash getting destroyed by any fighting move, but his original form tanked those hits.
How good were *ELECTABUZZ AND ELECTIVIRE* actually?
I WILL NEVER GIVE UP
also can you cover Gen 7 ZU?
They sucked.
then we should pick them. lol
its the tier lower than PU in usage. its not official, but it has its own public room on pokemon showdown, and has a rotational ladder. the S rank of the tier is rotom frost. and electivire is one of the best pokemon there, being A-.
So it sucked so bad it got moved to ZU. Why does this Pokemon deserve an episode, again?
he has reviewed shit like meganium and flareon, which are undoubtedly way worse than electivire. and jumpluff got a video too, and unown (its unlisted but there is still a video). why wouldn't it at this point?

Please vote on Pokémon that are NOT seen on this list for FalseSwipeGaming’s next analysis (not "analytic") video.
Honestly, STFU
6:01 hp fire against heatran? Srsly?
Gwarta Big I think he meant HP Fight since it's actually a decent option on Ninetales during gen 5 because of Tyranitar, (Air Balloon) Heatran, and Ferrothorn.
True lol
*flash fire intensifies*
