As a Star Wars podcast and the Person who Who owns a TH-cam channel all about Star Wars? And who loves Star Wars very much I have never seen a show with so many potholes bad dialogues and some bad acting. Disney needs to stop blaming people for their problems. I will definitely sub and see what you have to say about in the future.
@@losthyperspace Aw thank you so much! I truly appreciate the support! Sub means a lot! And I totally agree! I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many plot holes . Making it incredibly hard to watch, my mind is continually thinking about what’s not adding up!
potholes 🤣
Osha and Mae changing mind back & forth makes Venestra motion sick😂
there's a theory that Osha and May actually have a shared personality with one being the good side and one being bad..... but they can flop back and forth in terms of motives anyways, not their identity.
BUT.... not sure I believe the people writing this show actually think that far ahead.
@@marhawkman303 Major problem with bad writing or writing that people are not confident in teh story teller. Now taht we made it to the end, we know it's definitely bad writing.
@@doro626 confidence comes from "getting" the writing... which we didn't.
Another crime: Not only are we never given ANYTHING about the supporting cast in the program (Indara, Yord, Kalnacca, Jecki, Jedi Red Shirt Knight #3, etc) - their stories have been STOLEN from us because - THEY'RE ALL DEAD, killed off without any chance at character conveyance.
So Cami wasn't too impressed by the CW style thirst trap and lightsaber phallus innuendo? haha. I especially appreciated the not-so-subtle staring at the Sith snake. That's definitely what all us decades long Star Wars fans have been waiting for.
@@CarlWheatley-wi2cl right, what was that! I was sure they were making the show for kids. But now … let’s have her be attracted to the mass murdering bad guy. And try on his helmet to honor all those lost in the forest. This show has no weight.
nothing is more romantic than having sex with your kidnapper, said Harvey Weinstein’s longtime personal assistant.
I suspect that the way Osha is holding the lightsaber pointed at Qimir is not unintentionally showing her to be ignorant but instead it was filmmed that way in order to symbolically represent her double-handed grip on a phallic symbol pointed FROM Qimr, it's source.
Any interaction with the beaver/muskrat/ferret/squirrel with Mae that doesn't include murder = a lost cause. He's the only "being" that can identify that she's not Osha apparently, and - if she was willing to kill a Jedi in public, she'd surely slit that animal's throat and tuck him into a bulkhead void to keep her secret.
Crime #3: The original promise of the program from the "creator" herself, was to offer up the perspective of "The Sith" and - that provides the solicitation of something solely different than what has been delivered - even in this episode. I've been referring to this episode as the car crash between an on-demand series based on STAR WARS content, and a terrible Harlequin Romance Novel - and we, the audience, are the sole-remaining person left alive after the crash. Just terrible.
Woah, I was actually excited by the opening crawl of this video, unlike in actual Star Wars content!
@@anovaguy I know lol I get excited whenever I add clips from the original Star Wars.
Green Lady is the showrunner's wife... she's not going to be bad.... $20 says she actually saves the day.
oh, good point. Probably gonna reveal she had a good reason for getting rid of Smilo.
You are assuming the Creators don't actually identify with the Sith and think they are just misunderstood. Watch the Director interview. She straight up admits it. They actually think the Sith are the good guys. Green Lady will be the head Sith and everyone will say Yass Queen Slay.
@@Catachumen hmm.. well.. as of the end of ep 8 and thus season 1... we;ve not seen her do any sith stuff... just corrupt Jedi stuff.
@@marhawkman303 I pray there is no season 2 to prove either of us right.
I just love the series. Osha and Mae are real relatable heroes with the same facial expression over days. That's what good "content" is like. You can glance at it while doing laundry folding or whatever and still not miss anything important. Disney is marvelous, really. They understood what "space adventure" has to be like. Boring.
😂
“we can’t talk about any of these things because the plot would be falling apart” 😂
The Sith will be Trinity from the first episode and the "dead" Jedi killed in episode 5 will be back as the Knights of Ren. We all know that death has no consequences in modern storytelling. So getting "killed" is just a minor inconvenience. And the writers have no new ideas.
Lol I hate that death is so loose in shows these days. I wouldn’t put it past them!
I think he meant that she "saved" him because as a child, Osha gave him a purpose. But I, most likely, am applying logic to something written by illogical minds. I'm starting to think that in the writer's strike, we may have lost the last good writers in Hollywood.
Another Acolyte random youtube recommendation!
Hello there (Kenobi)
If you haven't watched Andor, you can see a well-crafted story also set in the SW universe. Are there lightsabers and jedi? No. But its still SW through and through in my opinion. It fleshes out the world more, does what a new SW show or movie *should do* as far as this IP goes. There is so much potential. Anyway, cheers!
Aw hello! Glad you found me!! I’ve been runnning through the old Star Wars since watching these. But I have not seen Andor! Was curious if it was good, I will check it out:) thank you!
@@Letstunein Great! As many describe it, the show is a "slow burn" in the first three episodes (which Disney released at once, then week to week). But the season is 12 episodes, and each is close to an hour long. Shocking, right!? (Looking at Acolyte and it's 30 minute eps)
Oh, did you see "Rogue One"? (generally the only Disney SW movie most long-timers consider canon). The title character if the show is a secondary character from the movie. Anyway, enjoy!
Hi here! I happened to watch your reaction video on Godzilla Minus 1.0 last night, and loved it! So happy I found your channel! As for the Acolyte, I get the impression that this whole script is the result of a first draft from single brainstorming session by a dozen people who never saw a single George Lucas Star Wars movie…
Aw so Glad you found me! And that you enjoyed my Godzilla React:) Welcome to this channel! Also, I totally agree, thats exactly how the show comes of - a half baked brain storm session!
Another question: How long will it take "new STAR WARS creators" to utilize the ability of now-dead Jedi to "commune with the living" to share guidance details with those who are still alive? Imagine if Indara's force ghost simply appeared the next day/whatever the "gestation period is"and stated, "Oh, yeah, it was that little girl we met on at the Abandoned Mountaintop Lesbian Space Witch Seamstress' Coven. You now, the one with the twisty-curly-cue on her forehead and the braids? That one. She's all grown-up now, still has the braids and is angry at us for taking her sister in for training. See ya." and it's all over but the 5+ minute credits.
I look forward to when you write your own star wars show.
Oh that would be fun! I will finish my movie script first hehe :) thank you!
@@Letstunein Good luck with that, also.
@@MrRosebeing thank you so much!!:)
Smilo Ren:
"A Sith only pulls his lightsaber to seduce.... if you know what I mean...😏😏😏".....
One of the highest Writer's Crimes with this show is the crime of omission. With the young twins, we have not only been robbed of being told what the "real story is" - we just don't care anymore because there's been nothing written to have the actors showcase WHY WE WOULD CARE about the young twins, much less the older twins.
Mae is a wayward murderer with no allegiance to anyone or anything, depending on the direction of the wind, and Osha - we have nothing in the way of a weather vane to help us understand what any of her potential or already-existing motivations might include.
They are both GREY SPOTS on a grey Rorschach test.
Totally agree! Thanks for all the support and comments as well. It’s really crazy how they have portrayed Osha and Mae. I think it maybe the most baffling part of the show!
The best part of the Acolyte is the John Williams score at the end of this review of the episode. 🤣
I haven't watched but I wouldn't put it past the writers to have trinity be the master and her death was faked..
I'm pretty sure that ship has sailed. But since this thing is all over tha place, you could be spot on.
Im actually alarmed at how many people like myself too aren't even bothering to watch it.
Isn’t that the truth, sounds just crazy enough to work lol
@@ToothlessDragon536 I’m like you! I had no intention of watching it. But then felt lead to review it. Otherwise I would have passed on it
Great video Cami. You should really do more frequent reviews to get more exposure for you Seeker project. Hope it is going well ! Greetings from Canada ! PS. the YT algorithm made me find you since I was looking at alot for Acolyte content.
@@miguelh4750 Aw yay!! Thank you my friend! I’ve been watching a lot of reviews and breakdowns of the show as well!
And I will do that:) I was thinking of doing more in between the series. Thank you for the encouragement and positivity!!
Osha was totally into Jecki, though. She mentioned her flexibility apropos of nothing, which was clearly an awkward attempt at flirting. “Don’t tell me you’ll miss me,” was another flirt attempt. She even offered to take Jecki out on a post-adventure date. “We’ll go to a Cantina and trade stories about Master Sol.” It’s not obvious enough to upset conservative parents, but it’s there.
Point is, I’ll be shocked if she turns out to be straight. Don’t forget, she grew up on a planet entirely peopled with lesbians! Her whole planet was gay! No way she’s into Qimir, right? No shot.
Then again, this could easily turn out to be an inconsistency in the writing of her character. 🤷♂️
You're here too! There's no point to theorizing as to do so typically utilizes logic and this show threw that away a long time ago. It is a show that has embraced random and often changing character motives to the point of absurdity. The only thing I feel comfortable predicting is that we have not heard the last of "The power or one, the power of two, the power of many..." In fact, I have a hunch we may even end with Mae and Osha merging into one being called Maeosha and then become "The power of One" and being all powerful.
You're getting a new sub from me. I don't know who this show is for or how they spent $180million on it when *at least two* episodes so far, 4 & 6, are JUST FILLER. There's no story here. No real mystery, just things that haven't been revealed; no characters- except for maybe Sol, but it looks like they're well on their way to destroying him. I don't even know what story this show is trying to tell: it keeps *saying* the Jedi are oppressive and a dominant police-like force, yet it only ever SHOWS them being incredibly incompetent, so one has to ask- how can those two things be true? They're either oppressive, dominant & competent by default, or they're NOT. Does anyone even care about Osha & Mae? What are their characters? They have no defined personality traits and their actions are inconsistent with *anything* plot-related. 🤦♂️
This is so true! It is crazy how many plot holes they have created within such a small narrative. This show definitely could have been completed by episode 4! Also, Thank you so much for the sub and comment! Happy to have you here!
I'm actually going to say something useful other than hooray cami.
Umm. A galaxy we don't recognize was hilarious. Did you do that yourself? 😂
She's a funny cookie.
Aw thank you both! I actually did! I used a little Star Wars editor to make my own openings. Thanks for the support!!!
This show wasn’t written it’s just kind of thrown together
IMO Venestra is not Sith, she is just a corrupt Jedi. She is Quimir's former Jedi master, but is not Sith. If she was Sith, I think her lightsaber would automatically become red. I think Quimir's Sith master will show up close to the end, but it won't be much more than a cameo. The Sith might not even be named, or they may make it Plagus, (even though that makes no sense) because they really want to name drop the prequels. The Sith master may turn out to be one of the mothers... or may not. I don't think it will be Trinity, even though that would be a smart plot twist, because I am pretty sure Trinity's body was recovered by the Jedi. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong (I don't actually watch the show, just youtube videos).
@@station7thedoor I think you are spot on! Good analysis. However this ends I’m certain it will be nonsensical.
The writers are very sloppy with the back and forth of the plot on whose side the characters are on. They change sides without any good reasons. They also hint at a potential love interest of the villain and one of the sisters (the villain who mass murdered the Jedi in the forest). At this point I am confused on which sister is which, as their acting is identical without any different personality, unlike other shows where there is a distinct personality difference that is clearly evident. These twins are identical in every way and switch sides easily in allegiance.
@@adrianvanleeuwen exactly! I was thinking the same thing about the mass murderer love interest.
Just found your channel and I enjoyed the review. I stopped watching Disney Star Wars after Kenobi. More fun tuning into the reviews:)
Haha I agree! The reviews have been more entertaining than the show! Welcome to the channel! And thanks for checking out my video:)
A pretty woman with some critical thinking to actually bash this show? An instant subscriber, for not being a shill. ;) My main issue with shills, and why I call them that, is not because they can't enjoy it (if they really do), but because they don't criticize pretty much ANYTHING. It's all about writing, interesting characters (here it's only Qimir and I'm rooting for him to end everybody) and with an established lore, to actually follow that lore. I've probably forgot something... A like given, that's not it. :D Have a great day. :)
Aw thank you so much! Means a lot and I’m glad you enjoyed! I’m watching andor now and it’s crazy the difference. The writing is so horrendous here 😂 I’m so glad you found me!
@@Letstunein I'm glad I found you too. :) Andor is great, especially at the end. It's the only SW show I'm actually looking forward to the next season. I lost all hope for SW after Mando season 3, but Andor should have the same people working on s2.
Star Wars has turned into a soap opera for cat women by cat women. It would probably get better ratings if they sandwiched it between "Days of Our Lives" and "General Hosptial" in the afternoon TV lineup.
the same happened to the MCU. Ie Agatha all along
Yeah Anakin at a young age would not threatened his brother or sister to kill them either so therefore those witches are very very evil
They might as well just add Mickey Mouse as Sith Lord to the series at this point. None of it will ever make any sense.
this show has almost zero emotions..."plot twists" becoming "plot holes"..Ep. 6 is more like James Bond than SW.
@@YeeCreativeProduction agreed! I don’t think I have felt any emotion from Mae or Osha.
Hey there! Still haven't watched a second of this show...as a show. I've certainly seen stuff on all these reviews.
Headland has said she thinks this skinny dip and conversation constitutes the beginnings of a "Ship". She wants that. Fundamentally misunderstanding Star Wars. Now, when it comes right down to it, I don't care a whit about Star Wars. But even I know "Shipping" is not what SW is.
Ultimately, the whole affair is endemic to the state of filmmaking today. Studios won't do completely new things. But they'll ruin old things by jamming new ideas into them. I understand it a little. They need those young eyes, but aren't willing to lose the old ones.
I enjoy the reviews. But I'm not sure they're having the desired effect. Hatewatching is still watching.
@@guyjperson it’s really strange too, the show was already hinting a relationships with Jecki and now they are hinting a relationship with Qimir , who killed Jecki. It’s awful.
Thank you for checking out my video! And the comment!
SW is the ultimate meh at this point. The Acolyte has no story, just things happening and people kind of acting & interacting for littte to no reason. It's like a child telling an inprovised story: And then, and then... ect. ect.
I believe the reason why is because the writers has nothing they truly want to say, nothing they find meaningful enough to move the plot, no purpose or aim. All they got is emotions and trying to create "moments", much like Zach Snyder or J J Abrams who at least can make interesting images.
When you kill a fan favorite in the first episode like Trinity you know the
Oh it's a beaver I was trying to figure that out right on
Right it’s just crazy! Lol
Why is a lesbian director obsessed with a Sith actor’s naked body?
What I'm afraid of is that the show is so bad it's actually good - at the end of the day, we're all watching and talking about it.
One thing I can't figure out is who the target audience is. Kids? But there's all this implied seductive nudity. Girls? But there are corpses everywhere. Very weird that is.
I know I’m so confused by that! I was so sure it was designed for kids. But now with the past two episodes I don’t know lol
The show certainly is getting a lot of buzz!
Some constructive feedback for us, just get a mic. Doesn’t have to be any in specific but whatever your using.. is bad . That is all ! Great review
@@natevant5525 Aw thanks, I was thinking about that. If I’m gonna do this channel upping the quality is important. Taking your advice!
I'll buy the writing staff a keg of beer if it's revealed the short sniffer unknown pronoun rodent alien is the Sith Master. There's a popular internet theory he'd Force choke Smiley or gut him with a lightsaber for revealing that the Sith exist. Maybe a lightsaber duel between them would be fun.

I'm the antithesis of a fan of anything Disney has done (the Marvel and Star Wars conveyor belt stuff) but this looks especially bad. Who'd have thought it could get worse than that cheesy space age Vespa "gang" on whatever show that was. To me it seems like Disney has intensified a trend in that more than every creative writing and new creative ideas and IP's are just gone. It's all rehashes, remakes, sequels, and riding on the coat tails of some prior IP. I can't find any movie or shows to watch anymore (watching Sopranos for the sixth time now during downtime at work)... It's like the dark ages.
It’s very hard these days to find good content. I think that’s why I feel so passionate to make my own film.
