It’s easy to miss because the entire episode muddies any sense of time and place, but the reason the bugs didn’t attack during the lightsaber fighting is because the bugs are nowhere near Kalnaca’s house. Osha lures them there in that scene where she tells Yord they need to turn back or Smilo will kill everyone. You see her turn on the droid’s light and point it up into the trees, and then she starts running back. You can hear the bugs making noise and that’s meant to convey she’s luring them back to where the fighting is. It’s still stupid, since the bugs would’ve almost definitely attacked her as she was running back with her light in the air. But even assuming they just slowly followed her all the way back to Kalnaca’s without attacking, the way the episode treats them they essentially just go into a holding pattern the second the light goes off and wait to immediately pounce once the light comes back on. Very obedient killer bugs.

That's also why Vader had no idea Sidious knew about Starkiller until it was too late. It was meant to be a parallel-one that George Lucas deliberately set up with Sith philosophy in mind. Mae should have perished the moment she started going to public's eyes and not even trying her hardest to maintain secrecy.

the 2 main characters motivations are beyond me and never something I understood - Osha: quit jedi training, still doesn't want to be anything - Mae: gives up on vengeance, infiltrates jedi order with no stated reason - the evidence that Osha cares for Sol keeps flip flopping as does Mae's love for Osha. Other than that they have no other character relationships. This show works so hard to do nothing

They could have easily had a good reason for Yord to change his mind - have him feel Jeckie's death. Great reason to be worried about Sol and return right there.
The more i listen to these plot analysis/reviews the more i think these shows are cartoons that Disney wants people to treat them seriously but they end up getting laughed at for how cartoonishly bad they are
The armor is called cortosis, which was originally from the Expanded Universe. The reason people didn’t use it that much is because it was rare and expensive, but it did have the power to deflect and short out lightsabers.
Bad writing. Bad acting. Bad stage setup. Bad cgi. Bad girl boss moments. Bad making the male characters dumb just to uplift the female ones. Sigh…… must be Disney.
I haven't watched a single episode and have no plans to, but can't wait for the next one to drop so I can watch the takedown vids, this one was particularly good, the cuts of scenes from other movies/tv ("why" Chandler was the best) are very well done.
The very, very stupid decision to bring Force healing into the stories shows how little they really understand Star Wars. If the technique had been around that long and developed to that extent then it nullifies Anakin’s entire arc. It makes his betrayal pointless and meaningless. If Jedi had this power he would have never had any dark side influence on his life. He could’ve saved his mom, Padme, heck Obi-Wan could have saved Qui-Gon. Force healing is a power that should have been something that was acquired after a great deal of trial and tribulation, thus giving it the weight and gravitas such a power and its meaning to the story represents. There have been hints in the Star Wars story that it’s possible to do it, it’s even been hinted that someone powerful enough in the Force could become immortal, but instead of building up towards stuff so monumental, they undercut everything by doing that.
I remember reading the Star Wars Legacy comics Cade Skywalker was born with a similar abilities but it use to bring those back from a brink of death however consequently every time he used it he is falling the dark side. Yeah force healing should be a rare light side ability only for those who trained in healing and doctors it not something to learn just from a book or overnight.

The actress for Osha and May is awful...hear her line delivery when talking about turning herself in to The Jedi. She has the demeanor and vocal inflection of someone talking about their plans when they go to Summer camp...not the fact they're going to turn themselves into the authorities because they MURDERED SOMEONE!!! Her voice should have some regret, anger and realization , you know? EMOTIONS. considering she's giving up (?) her quest for revenge and trying to atone for her crimes. Just awful line delivery, acting and direction for not catching that In the performance.
Not that I’m defending this show but whatever her name is (jackie or whatever-x23) her being more skilled than full fledged Jedi Knights is not necessarily bad writing. In this particular case it probably is just lazy writing but there have been examples of this in past Star Wars where the student is the more skilled “fighter.”. However being a Jedi Knight and eventually Jedi Master is more about a person’s mastery of the force and the Jedi ways rather than simply their skill with a lightsaber. To further illustrate my point Obi Wan was able to best Darth Maul in single combat after his master was defeated. Perhaps if it was established beforehand that she was a gifted lightsaber dualist but then again they didn’t even do this with Obi Wan.🤔🤔. But, then again if you were paying attention to the fight choreography of the Maul fight you can clearly see that Maul was trying to isolate Qui-Gon from Obi Wan implying that Qui-Gon was the weaker fighter.🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️. Anyway the fight scene in this episode was not setup properly. Some people are probably going to enjoy anyway, in fact I enjoyed it despite the many flaws. But, this guy is supposed to be a Sith and one of the things the Sith are known for is getting inside the heads of Jedi and toying with them. It was mentioned but it was never shown. I would have shown how he kept the Jedi off balanced despite the fact they had the numerical advantage. I would have had him using the darkness to his advantage by hiding in it and attacking when the Jedi are unaware of his location and using tactics that kept dividing them up and isolating them. All while at the same time he’s taunting them getting inside their heads and even tempting them to the dark side. But, that would take some one who has a fundamental understanding of Star Wars but Kathleen Kennedy has made it clear she doesn’t want people like that working on Star Wars🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️.

This might be a nitpick, but disney seems to think that lightsabers are solid light bars, like they are lego lightsabers that actually glow. Lightsabers should have a white core, surrounded by a halo of color. These lightsabers look wrong.
Like is this before a new hope and return of the Jedi cuz if it is then why didn’t they use this technology so u can’t get injured by the light sabers . The writing is so bad .

the 2 main characters motivations are beyond me and never something I understood
- Osha: quit jedi training, still doesn't want to be anything
- Mae: gives up on vengeance, infiltrates jedi order with no stated reason
- the evidence that Osha cares for Sol keeps flip flopping as does Mae's love for Osha. Other than that they have no other character relationships.

The armor is called cortosis, which was originally from the Expanded Universe. The reason people didn’t use it that much is because it was rare and expensive, but it did have the power to deflect and short out lightsabers.
And it too brittle to use and can easily break.

I haven't watched a single episode and have no plans to, but can't wait for the next one to drop so I can watch the takedown vids, this one was particularly good, the cuts of scenes from other movies/tv ("why" Chandler was the best) are very well done.

The very, very stupid decision to bring Force healing into the stories shows how little they really understand Star Wars. If the technique had been around that long and developed to that extent then it nullifies Anakin’s entire arc. It makes his betrayal pointless and meaningless. If Jedi had this power he would have never had any dark side influence on his life. He could’ve saved his mom, Padme, heck Obi-Wan could have saved Qui-Gon.
Force healing is a power that should have been something that was acquired after a great deal of trial and tribulation, thus giving it the weight and gravitas such a power and its meaning to the story represents. There have been hints in the Star Wars story that it’s possible to do it, it’s even been hinted that someone powerful enough in the Force could become immortal, but instead of building up towards stuff so monumental, they undercut everything by doing that.
I remember reading the Star Wars Legacy comics Cade Skywalker was born with a similar abilities but it use to bring those back from a brink of death however consequently every time he used it he is falling the dark side. Yeah force healing should be a rare light side ability only for those who trained in healing and doctors it not something to learn just from a book or overnight.

The actress for Osha and May is awful...hear her line delivery when talking about turning herself in to The Jedi. She has the demeanor and vocal inflection of someone talking about their plans when they go to Summer camp...not the fact they're going to turn themselves into the authorities because they MURDERED SOMEONE!!! Her voice should have some regret, anger and realization , you know? EMOTIONS. considering she's giving up (?) her quest for revenge and trying to atone for her crimes. Just awful line delivery, acting and direction for not catching that In the performance.

Not that I’m defending this show but whatever her name is (jackie or whatever-x23) her being more skilled than full fledged Jedi Knights is not necessarily bad writing. In this particular case it probably is just lazy writing but there have been examples of this in past Star Wars where the student is the more skilled “fighter.”.
However being a Jedi Knight and eventually Jedi Master is more about a person’s mastery of the force and the Jedi ways rather than simply their skill with a lightsaber. To further illustrate my point Obi Wan was able to best Darth Maul in single combat after his master was defeated.
Perhaps if it was established beforehand that she was a gifted lightsaber dualist but then again they didn’t even do this with Obi Wan.🤔🤔. But, then again if you were paying attention to the fight choreography of the Maul fight you can clearly see that Maul was trying to isolate Qui-Gon from Obi Wan implying that Qui-Gon was the weaker fighter.🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️.
Anyway the fight scene in this episode was not setup properly. Some people are probably going to enjoy anyway, in fact I enjoyed it despite the many flaws. But, this guy is supposed to be a Sith and one of the things the Sith are known for is getting inside the heads of Jedi and toying with them. It was mentioned but it was never shown. I would have shown how he kept the Jedi off balanced despite the fact they had the numerical advantage. I would have had him using the darkness to his advantage by hiding in it and attacking when the Jedi are unaware of his location and using tactics that kept dividing them up and isolating them. All while at the same time he’s taunting them getting inside their heads and even tempting them to the dark side. But, that would take some one who has a fundamental understanding of Star Wars but Kathleen Kennedy has made it clear she doesn’t want people like that working on Star Wars🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️.

This might be a nitpick, but disney seems to think that lightsabers are solid light bars, like they are lego lightsabers that actually glow. Lightsabers should have a white core, surrounded by a halo of color. These lightsabers look wrong.
