Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Pokémon on each route.
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

That's why Renplat is so great.
It's far from easy, but it gives you all the tools you need to succeed.
I mean it's pretty easy to guarantee in some vanilla games as well, Emerald especially.

Honestly, my only problem with most rom hack HN videos is that most youtubers only cover the gym leaders and don't really touch on other fights, the main strategies of the fights and other nuances of the game, so a much longer and in-depth look on these games is just what I was looking for
check out pokemonchallenges then, he does focus a bit more on other fights especially on his second channel. he is also a really skilled nuzlocker :)

I enjoy flygons videos alot but on few occassions he caters a few sentences to people with your mind set to not get cancelled and i believe the only reason is he does that is his target audience would cancel him if he used the wrong pronouns. I cringe everytime when he caters to woke mentality, I despise everything woke like most of the world does but ill keep watching his content if he caters to you because if he caters to people like me, you will abandon him.

Doing a casual play through of renegade platinum right now, and it’s crazy how much I am enjoying it. It’s definitely become my favorite Pokémon game, period.
Renegade Platinum is definitely a gem amongst the fan made games for Pokémon. I've done a few monotype runs already, it's super fun.
The risk of failure is what makes these challenges so compelling. I'm really glad you have such a good response to loss; you process it a lot better than I do. I look forward to the next video!

Just wanted to note that I love how you use gendered pronouns for your Pokémon rather than it/its. It makes them more sympathetic. The casual they/them for the genderless Beldum was cool too.

As for this video though - I Got so attatched to Chorizo, Salt, and Eclair, They were definitely my faves of the run they all put in some really solid work! ❤ The fact you got so damn far on the very first run was incredible to watch, and the next run only gets better too! I'm usually a bit of a lurker and very bad at writing comments, but amazing stuff as always Dr. Flygon!

I've been planning to do my own nuzlocke of this game, but going through this video and watching the previous ones made me realize that I've still got a lot to learn. One day you could even do a pretty singular nuzlocke, a glitch "monolocke" in RB, including non-glitch type ones. In every city you could trade with your special uncle with one glitch, using glitch moves too (or at least the ones that don't break the game though just some are decent)

Raichu AND Drapions nature ended up with them dying :( that minus attack nature for sure is why steelix didn't die. Drapion is incredible especially with battle armor so sucks you lost it

That's sick, shiny Mightyena is one of my favorite Pokémon. I don't know of he's better in Ren Plat but I used a Mightyena from Ruby all the way into the champion fight (he 1v1ed Cradily)

Have to appreciate all of the effort that goes into all of your videos, of course, but this challenge is especially tough, and I'm really excited to see it! Drayano hacks are no joke, for sure, 0 shame on having to do multiple attempts (even just subliminally; they're tailored to upend what you think you know about pokemon, after all) and even with the preface this was a wonderful watch just to see how far you would get (the Flash Fire foreshadowing had me in anticipation for a *while* too! You're really good at embedding hooks into the early game that get the audience invested) and this is a *very* respectable place to have gotten on the first try. I love your monolockes (and other theme-teams) and look forward to those in the future, but this feels like just the thing to shake up your strategies in a good way and thank you for editing these down and bringing us along for the ride

Hi Flygon I really enjoyed today's challenge seeing as it was something a bit different! Just a quick question, where do you get your data on all trainers for the baseline games?I've tried my own nuzlockes and I've lost a couple mons due to my calcs being wrong as I assume all of them have 0 IVs and EVs. Thanks in advance!
I'm not sure if it's available for every game, but i know that there are trainer docs available by joining the flygonhg discord
For the baseline games I believe IVs are random from 0-31, not assumed 0. The exceptions are the strong trainers in later gens-- I'm not certain which gen they started actually building in specific IVs and EVs but as the other comment said there are probably docs for such
That was a monstrous first attempt. I think Drayano hacks have the best balance of being challenging but not being utter bullshit/deliberately disadvantageous to the player, which make them the perfect gateway to nuzlocking ROM hacks imo

I like Renegade Platinum, but personally it feels like you get showered with too many good pokemon early on. You have a monster team only a few gyms in. The power curve feels better in a lot of other romhacks.
