    I found that in my Mom's Toro, about mid season, the electric start quit working. I finally figured out the spark plug was fouled. A quick clean and re set the gap fixed it. This season, I'm going to change the plug and oil mid season for her. Check your plug as well!

    Great fix! My OCD would require me to know why a 40amp fuse on an electric mower starter would blow in the first place. Double check all your wires to ensure there are no other shorts in the line. Quality repair!

    Same thing happened to me. Bought ii 5 weeks ago. Started right up. Stopped wouldn't start. Was gonna return it but decided to troubleshoot. Checked off my list of things and it dawned on me it might be the battery box. Unscrewed it and saw the fuse. But there was another fuse there too just hanging out not connected. Examined the connected one and the other one and saw the it was blown. And low and behold put the new one in and she started right up 7 times. Wish the guys over at Toro would just ask the obvious. Also wish I stumbled on your video sooner!

    I have one exactly the same and it doesn’t turn over at all. Nothing. But when I put the charger on it marks the battery at green light. Which I’m assuming means it’s charged. But push bottom and absolutely nothing. No click no noise nothing. I’m going to try look into this and hopefully it fixes the problem.

    Mine did that yesterday. got it yesterday morning, put it together, started it once and it wouldn't start again from the Electric start. this is my second one. I bought the first one last week and returned it because it did this. and then yesterday, the second one did it... whats up with that? anyway, I'll go get a fuse today and if it works, your a life saver!

    • @skairkrow9800
      @skairkrow9800 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, its nice. I took the battery cover off and found they gave me an extra fuse. I pulled the old one and looked, sure enough could see some burn. put the other one in and it started. So it started 4 times and burned that fuse out! are there different Quality fuses? will it make any difference if I go buy a fuse from an Auto Shop?

    • @HarshmanHills
      @HarshmanHills  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used fuses from orielys. Wouldn’t think it should matter that much. Check for a fray somewhere that might cause it to blow

    • @skairkrow9800
      @skairkrow9800 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HarshmanHills So I took that Mower back and got another one. put that one together and charged the battery up. it also started up just once and then would not spin again. after searching the internet I discovered that this is an issue with this mower and that its nothing more than a blown fuse. So I bought a package of fuses and replaced the generic fuse Toro uses. I got about 5 starts out of that fuse and it has now blown.. So I'm looking at having to replace the fuse every 4 or 5 starts. I'm thinking of just by passing the fuse box entirely.

      @@skairkrow9800 I think I need to do the same fuse bypass. My e-start a few times then nothing. The interesting thing is my 40amp fuse is not blown. Can't seem to find any issues.

    • @skairkrow9800
      @skairkrow9800 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nikjohnson3227 I found another fix that worked for me with out the bypass. another TH-camr said to put washers behind the starter mounts to the engine (There's 2). moving the starter off the gears a tad. he said that the gears were actually pushing into each other with pressure that caused the starter to strain enough to blow the fuse. took me 5 minutes and it worked. I havent had to change a fuse since.

    I find that CS depts. are pretty much useless when it comes to trouble shooting things like this. “What is your zip code? I can find you our closest authorized repair shop.” We got new house windows, and a lot of them weren’t closing correctly to allow them to lock. Instead of telling me that I may have to push the center of window frame where the 2 meet outward so the J channels align, they had to send a service tech out to tell me that their CS reps don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. His words. Should I have to push the frame outward? No! But telling me that would have avoided a lot of swearing and MFing...
