Sir, Thank you for helpful tips, Now I have a problem, it will be very good for me if you suggest the slution. I have a drawing in model space and I have set that drawing in Layout Tab by viewport in proper scale. Now I want to move the drawing in model space but donot want to move that drawing from the view port in the layout tab. Is it possible, without changing the viewport setting ? Thanks with love.
Thanks for the tips. However, I was looking for something specific that wasn't covered. What about moving to a coordinate? I have tried to move an object by clicking on the base corner, and then moving to 0,0,0 but it never moves. It acts like a displacement. Is it not possible to move to a coordinate? Am i doing something wrong? Steps: 1. Click move 2. highlight object. Enter 3. select base point 4. type 0,0,0 and it doesn't move. So I assume this is acting like a displacement. Is there a step I'm missing?
Hey Thanks for watching and the question! I actually just made a video about moving objects to exact coordinates in model space. Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/6Xb9cRPeuYI/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
Hi Brandon, thanks for the great website --is there a way to snap one object at one altitude z1 to another existing object at a new altitude z2 for example? e.g. I have solar panels at 530m and I want to move them quickly to terrain at 190m. Can I click on the terrain altitude at tell the panels to move to that alitude. I was changing the z value but if there is a faster way I would do that. Thanks.
Question - when you try to move by putting "units" what units do you mean? I tried moving my box 1/8" L and 1/8" down (-1/8", -1/8") and it went far away from the location I was hoping. Any ides on how to figure out what units you are using and if you can change them?
To move an object in AutoCAD, select the object, use the move command, specify the base point, then press Shift and right-click to open the context menu, select "From," choose the base point of the reference object, and finally, enter the offset distance to move it precisely.
What about using the control key and arrow keys? I know in other programs there's a quick move with a certain key configuration, is there anything like that in autocad?
How do you move an object locked in a certain plane whilst snapping too a point not on that plane to bring it inline with the selected point but not move the object to the snapped point?
I did not find what i came for. The move command gives you the option to select two points of reference from the object, but i cant. Its making me furious that i cant advance from this stupidity!
