I have that kit in the shed. Bought it in Camden Towm in 1993. Built the fuselage sifes first. Probably used all the nice long wood that was meamt for the wings. It's had a lot of storage damage since. I should finish it really :)
Nice work, this certainly looks promising. As a native north easterner myself, (although I might be thought in some circles a bit of a southerner, being from Beverley), I think it's incumbent upon EVERYONE ELSE to learn how to speak and understand PROPER English 😁.. All the Kiel Kraft kits I remember seemed to have beautifully done instructions and plans, in addition to superb quality wood etc.. A class outfit indeed. I think the little diesel will pull this Ladybird around very nicely, it'll certainly be fun to see what you do. Nice one Mark! 🌟👍
She may have a reputation for being a flying brick, I've built one and it's a darling to fly. I chucked all the ply pieces in the scrap box and built it light!
Aha! There are other like IanGalbraith who have done it before on here. Does anyone remember an edition of RCME from the 80s where someone built a massively scaled up rc version of this. Low lying engine thrust line 'n' all?
Tried to cut the plywood formers out with a cheapo Swiss Army knife. Chimese Army truth be told. Customer in the pub I was working in lent me a piercing saw and blades. Habe to finish that model. The plan is intact. Where's the best place to buy stock balsa nowadays?
How lucky am I? Here's me like a wee boy in a sweety shop, with the keys to them all. Take what you'd like, and it's all FREE. Hmm, what am I on about? Well I've been dreaming about doing this exact same thing, with a K.K Ladybird, for several years now. To this end, I've found online Ladybird plans that I'll share here, below. (These can be easily altered into various sizes.) Of course, this would mean scratch building it, but for this lovely model. I think it'd be worth it. One reason for thinking this, is I had one before. Yes I've built your exact same K.K. Ladybird kit years ago. Been there, done that, and I loved how it flew. But being free flight, it was a real pain in the a ..h-hem. Having to go and find and retrieve it. By the way, I'm already looking forwards keenly, to seeing your next listing, or post - on this K.K. Ladybird. I. Shane. G. 🙂 (p.s. Wishing you happy building, I for one, I'm very envious!) file:///C:/Users/shane/Downloads/KK%20Ladybird%20+%20print%20wood%20+%20rc%20conversion%20+%20iinstructions4.pdf
