They both have their unique sounds. There are times when I want the strat sound and times where I want that LP. If I had to pick a favorite I would choose LP because of it's warmth.

Besides I have two Electric guitars (a Jackson and a Vintage Reissued Stratocaster) and a Sigma acoustic guitar so I'm fine for now.

No offense but im my opinion it was kinda boring, I enjoyed Eat the Rich way more. I dont want to say Pink Floyd is a bad Band, all of them are excellent musicians and those were really good 4 Notes in the Song, but its a little monotonous.

Just go for Japanese guitars when it comes to Gibson they are more better than a regular Gibson. For Fender get a Japanese strat or what ever Fender guitar u like and If u still like Fender just buy a Fender Japan guitars they are more better than Fender USA and Mexico tbh

You should have compared Sultans of Swing with Money for Nothing. Both were played by Mark Knopfler but he was able to make those two guitars sound drastically different.
LP is thick and creamy. Strat has more attack and more twang. I'd choose the LP for blues and rock. If I were to just noodle around at home I'd go for strat. I usually set LPs at bridge pickup and strats at neck pickup.

These videos are really entertaining. As for Les Paul vs Strata I vaguely remember a TV show in the late 70s early 80s on UK TV called Rock School where well known musicians would give playing tips to wannabe rock stars and the late great Gary Moore demonstrated the differences between the Les Paul and the Strat. I haven't checked if it's on TH-cam yet but will put it on my to do list.
This was really really tough, but me being a Les Paul fan, I'll always vote for les paul. The strat was a tough competition thoug, but LP wins. (ps: the "slow dancing in a burning room" tone was quite raw)
