You gonna just say only 3 out of the 4 decades were the greatest? Might as well just say the 60s,70s,80s, and 90s were the pinnacle of guitar rifting. Hell you might as well say the 50s,60s,70s,80s,90s,2000s,2010s, and 2020s were the pinnacle of guitar playing
The real winner today was me I love all these songs and hearing them even for a few seconds is enough to lift my spirits. Music is the glue of the world ❤️
I LOVE the 1970’s…southern rock, Boston, Eagles, Kansas, Deep Purple, etc…but I grew up with 90’s alternative-grunge, college station-ska rock! So hard to pick for me!!
I was born in 79, but grew up in the 90’s during that whole grunge movement. Those were so good times!! I take absolutely nothing away from all those great bands. But the classics of Zeppelin, Eagles, and Beatles are tough to beat. Regardless, I enjoy good guitar playing and catching riffs. 💙
For me: 90s vs. 70s Learn to Fly : Layla 0:1 Thunderstruck : Let there be rock 1:1 Killing in the name : War pigs 2:1 Alive : La grange 2:2 Under the Bridge : Le Freak 3:2 Pretty Fly : Brown Sugar 3:3 Holy Wars : Hold the Line 3:4 Basket Case : Carry on Wayward Son 3:5 Cowboys from Hell : Burn 4:5 Smells Like Teen Spirit : Tie Your Mother Down 4:6 You Could Be Mine : Black Dog 4:7 Enter Sandman : Ain't Talkin Bout Love 4:8 Ok it is weird to compare the songs pound by pound😂 But for me 70s won (ik the Smells Like Teen Spirit riff is better than Tie Your mother down, but Brian May can do things with guitar, when Kurt Cobain try to do that he would break his fingers)
🇺🇸 Here are some songs i think should have been present in the video, maybe in a second part or something like that. 90s: Floods - Pantera Them Bones - Alice in Chains Everlong - Foo Fighters Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden Serve The Servants - Nirvana Come As You Are - Nirvana 70s: Walk This Way - Aerosmith Barracuda - Heart School's Out - Alice Cooper Sultans Of Swing - Dire Straits
I don’t want to be that guy that says, “I wish I could play guitar as well as you!”. I want to be the guy that says, “I wish I was 1% better than you!”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But I’m not and will never be but I’m happy that I am able to pick up a guitar and play it either on stage or at a party and when everyone is happy dancing or singing along; that’s when I know I am happy trying to make myself 1% better than I was before! Cheers bro, from Downunder!!!
Both were great times for music for every genre, the only thing i can be sure is that base on sound quality 70's & 90's > 80's (Master of puppets and Back in Black are the best 80's albums although)
@@theatomicsheep1116 I completely forgot that Moving Pictures were from the 80's, i always think of Rush as a 70's band. You're right, that's a great album
I appreciated this demo very much however my only criticism is I wish for the 90s you would've included the Smashing Pumpkins- Bullet with Butterfly wings and Offspring's Self Esteem as i consider those 2 songs and Smells Like Teen Spirit that you did include to be the 3 most iconic anthems of the 90s and i wish for the 70s you had included Ted Nugent's Stranglehold, but great job as I love the 70s, 80s, and 90s rock riffs
On paper, it's 70's, they paved the way for most of the songs from the 90's. But 90's took all the inspiration and paid homage to the 70's and made some incredible hits. Everybody should win.
Fun video. I feel like the 70's had to be held back with some of its lesser known songs otherwise it's a no contest. Also, no Soundgarden or Collective Soul???
Of course, the smart move for the 70s when the 90s busted out "Smells Like Teen Spirit" would've been to immediately counter with "More Than a Feeling". ;P
Video fantastico!
2:26 Do 80s vs 90s and have the 90s guy play this song and then have the 80s guy play Rock of Ages by Def Leppard since The Offspring sampled the beginning of Rock of Ages on Pretty Fly.
Black Sabbath's riffs from the first albums are enough to sweep the entire 90s away... Not to mention Led Zeppelin, Nazareth, Budgie, Slade or Deep Purple :)
The 1990’s have great riffs of course but 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s were the pinnacle of guitar riffing.

Saudosismo.
fuuuckkkkk, just realized thunderstruck is a 90s song.
De los 80s
@@maumm5188Nope. 90s.
From a band formed in the 70s
Hahahahha😂

I didn't know college station had a big ska scene
Loved the video. Please do a guitar collection video
What a cute friendship. Not only do they share a passion for guitar, they also have matching tattoos! 😍
I thought this comment was serious for a second
the amount of effort in the creation of this video is crazyyy, good job great video

Espectacular amigo!!! Qué gran trabajo!!! Gracias por compartirlo!!!

🇺🇸 Here are some songs i think should have been present in the video, maybe in a second part or something like that.
90s:
Floods - Pantera
Them Bones - Alice in Chains
Everlong - Foo Fighters
Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots
Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden
Serve The Servants - Nirvana
Come As You Are - Nirvana
70s:
Walk This Way - Aerosmith
Barracuda - Heart
School's Out - Alice Cooper
Sultans Of Swing - Dire Straits
Really enjoyed this video. Lots of great tracks.
Amazing ! You kill them all !🤘
Great set list, love all of these killer songs. Thank you so much🙏
Great video! I forgot how many great songs they both have. But now I know and I'm going to listen to more 70s and 90s music for sure!😃
My two freaking favourite decades in rock music ❤
Well, 1967-1977, Fk Disco! Lol
Really enjoyed this, more of these please!
Excelente !! Muito bom! Saudações do Brasil!!!
Abraços!!
LOVED IT dude !!!
Honestly you could just play Deep Purple or Zeppelin riffs and the 70s would win
And Van Halen!
Just play Dire Straits and we win the musicaly game
Hands down ma man!!
Just?🤣
Smoke on the water ensues…
Bel video!
Deep purple VS led Zeppelin on a Next edition?
Next video : 2000's vs 1960's or gen z vs mega boomer 😂😂
Yesssss
People BORN in the 2000 are gen z. For that porpose, it should be 2010s vs 1960s
People BORN in the 2000 are gen z. For that porpose, it should be 2010s vs 1960s
I'm gen z, but the 60s are the absolute winners
I don't know which decade won, but the video showed that any good 90s riffs came from the early part of that decade.
Ottimo editing!!! Ad ogni modo anno 90🎉🎉
Great video dude
EXCELLENT video...Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!
CHEERS.
Long life to rock music !!! Thank u for this !!!
Love your VS videos.
Que vídeo massa, irmão. Parabéns. Sou seu fã. Venha ao Brasil.
I totally enjoyed all of it
BRILLIANT 👏👏👏
And impossible to choose
A great riff is a great riff period 🎸👌👌👌👍😎
When I thought of 70s riffs Layla was the first thing that came to mind, and it was the 70s riff played in the video!
I don’t want to be that guy that says, “I wish I could play guitar as well as you!”. I want to be the guy that says, “I wish I was 1% better than you!”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
But I’m not and will never be but I’m happy that I am able to pick up a guitar and play it either on stage or at a party and when everyone is happy dancing or singing along; that’s when I know I am happy trying to make myself 1% better than I was before!

I wanna see 90’s versus 2000’s
Super fun!
1:07 you could have easily transitioned to Zeppelin Black Dog for the 70s riff here
Both were great times for music for every genre, the only thing i can be sure is that base on sound quality 70's & 90's > 80's (Master of puppets and Back in Black are the best 80's albums although)
Wait until you hear about Moving Pictures
@@theatomicsheep1116 I completely forgot that Moving Pictures were from the 80's, i always think of Rush as a 70's band. You're right, that's a great album
Video about a battle between the 70's and 90's.
While me headbanging the whole video.
Very hard this time!!! 😱
Thnx, cool video. 70’ - is a foundation.
Love that he’s playing the Frankenstrat and it’s also hanging on the wall 😂
God bless rock n roll :')
Both are excellent.
70s wins but the 10s-20s have some really good stuff (King Gizzard, Osees, Frankie and the Witch Fingers)

Wow. 😊
I love every song of that

hell yeaaa hold the line🔥🔥
Took me a while to realize there was only one person recording
Fun video. I feel like the 70's had to be held back with some of its lesser known songs otherwise it's a no contest. Also, no Soundgarden or Collective Soul???
Thats a nice watch
Rolling up and down the hand tipical 90's and britpop, give more melody and energy to the riff
70s and it’s not even close 😂😂
that's why you called the 70s dub the invasion
Playing Tha REAL War Pigs part!🙏👽💜
Fantastic.
What model tele is that? Love the white binding on the blue finish
Wonderwall could have been countered with Smoke on the Water
70s just have too many iconic riffs. 90s had so many good ones too though!
I kept waiting for "Are you gonna go my way"
The 70s was the time of Classic Rock. The 90s can’t compete in the slightest. This comes from a 23-year-old.
Perfecto Strangers❤
wonderwall part got me 🤣😂😂
What’s that white guitar?
Of course, the smart move for the 70s when the 90s busted out "Smells Like Teen Spirit" would've been to immediately counter with "More Than a Feeling". ;P
That basket case riffs actually from the 1680s.
After smells like teen spirit should be more than a feeling 😂 it’s 70’s riff too
Like it 1:54
For the 90s he should have done cherub rock
For 70s there’s also sultans of swing, but obv he couldn’t do all of them because there’s too many
You so funny 😅 Great Sounds 👍🏼 🤟
Funny?
I always forget how good Hold the Line is
neither cause ya ain't played no Rush!
Only kidding, way to go, good vid man! (But seriously where is the love for Rush?)
Maybe the best riffs were the friends we made along the way
Nice 🤨. Though I’m an 80’s kid, the 70’s riffs were just different, nasty cool sounds 🍻
Yes
Switching from war pigs to alive… such a pinkpop moment 😊
Fuck yeah !!!
Video fantastico! ❤🍻🍻🍻🍻

Of course 70'S overall wins, but 90'S still has some nasty riffs :)

70's i apologize...but i prefer those ones
70s better than 90s
Less deux 😊😊.
There's no battle, music wins !
70s win absolutely

The ‘70s dude could’ve just played some early RUSH songs and blow the ‘90s guy out of the water
Any RUSH will blow anything away
well I dont like very much foo foghters but ignorant me always thought that song he player first was like 2005 - 2006
70's for me 😊

Faltou algum riff do Aerosmith! 🔥🔥
I actually thought he was gonna do more than words instead of wonderwall
