This mass is what has catechised me. From being a complete modernist I have now gained a better understanding of Who the Eucharist is. That is the King of the Universe who humiliates Himself for us every Holy Mass.
Very nice to see how these French Roman Catholic mothers teach their little boys and girls the Christian faith and the love of Our Lord. God bless the holy Roman Church and this, her holy, Roman Liturgy of all apostolic ages.
Beautiful Mass.......much better than Lutheran services. This Mass is enriched with Tradition, symbolism, and beautiful Gregorian chant. I attend Latin tridentine Mass on Milwaukee's Southside. Beautiful. absolutely lovely.

This is so reverent and beautiful! I pray that the faithful there 17 yrs ago are still in love with The Lord and attending Mass in this incredible Church.
I'm so awaiting the motu poprio the pope is going to unveil to the public in this month! Hopefully a congregation will find together in my area and starts efforts to get a tridentine mass around here. It's so beautiful to see a church which is so full of people, I hope the latin and the regulated liturgy will give the church back its unity it always proclaims. With this mass, every Catholic will feel at home every where around the world!
I am a Ukrainian (Byzantine Rite) Catholic. We are in communion with the Apostolic See in Rome, and we use the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. We also ordain married men to the priesthood. Although we are not Roman Catholic, we are Catholic, and we are in full communion with the Pope in Rome. Please investigate us.
Absolutely beautiful, thank you very much! I'm OK with the vernacular Mass personally, but I do think every Catholic should go to one Tridentine Mass at least once to be in touch with their history and tradition. Peace be with you brother/sister!
This is so beautiful and I am looking forward to being able to attend a church within an hour drive. So holy and reverant and tradtional. I agree that Vatican II has really changed things and I became a Catholic after VII. This might be one of the reasons some people have left because we were no longerCatholic enough.
The reverence of the congregation in the Latin mass in Paris was amazing to be part of that was so uplifting ....the whole experience made me realise how much we have lost when compared to the modern masses
Cumprimentos aos irmãos portugueses que nos trouxe a fé a luz da verdade. No Brasil celebrou a primeira missa que é a de São Pio V. Aqui celebrando a primeira missa sacrifício incruento que rejuvenesce a nossa alma.

We are waiting for the Motu Proprio of His Sanctity. It would be ready tomorrow (Thursday), however in this month. Then we'll have the chance to attend Traditional Mass in our Diocese. God bless us all
I agree Latin and Greek are beautiful languages to worship our Lord in. It is very sad that Priests ttoday do not know Latin. Unfortunatly the Holy Father made it optional. So Priests decided if they want to say the mass in Latin. There are a few churchs that have stayed with the Latin Mass but they broke away from the Catholic church.
Thank you for your response. The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom shows no signs of decline. Actually, for us Eastern Catholics, the Second Vatican Council was very liberating, as it gave us the encouragement to maintain (and in some cases, restore) our own traditions.
Przypominają mi się moje młodzieńcze lata jak byłem ministrantem i chodziłem przy księdzu z wiaderkiem wody święconej, zupełnie inaczej się przeżywało mszę św. niż teraz

2 things: current languages always change. E.g. the original translation of "Dignum et iustum est" was "it is meet and just", which does not make sense anymore. Since Latin is a dead language, the meaning remains constant. 2nd: You once were able to go to any city in the world with your Latin->English missal and be able to follow the mass, and converse with the clergy in Latin. In this way Latin mitigated the punishment of the tower of Babel.
How about a topping on the communion wafer? Possibles could include peanut butter, whipped cream, plum jam. For cheese lovers there could be french onion dip, blue vein cheese, or the economical cheddar. What do you plum for?
@brndurham Usually for the Missa cantata (like in this video) or in the high mass, more servers are called to sit in choir and have the benefit of participating in mass in the sanctuary itself. But in the low mass it is rarer. And of course, this may depend from priest to priest.
Any way, I am a catholic so I forgive you. Any way , here is my point of view of all this: The SSPX is doing a good thing in my oppinion keeping the Latin rite alive in the holy mass, and I think that this mass is beautiful.. If I had the chance to see one I wouldn't miss it.
@Menechem I may be a member of a Southern Baptist Church, but I am welcomed at the Pentecostal Church that supports my Pastors cause in raching Jews with the Gospel (he is Jewish BTW).
All the same, I am thankful for the indult Mass. If you didn't guess already, I would be in a different rite were there an Eastern Catholic church anywhere in the vicinity of my home. As it is, the Latin Mass is the only place wherein I can receive solid liturgy and good theology. Rmember, beliefs are upheld by liturgy, and so the indult Mass is a victory in that wise.
I am Catholic and believe in the Messiah, but I also believe in obeying Scripture which tells us to hold fast to the traditions of the apostles, written and unwritten (II Thes. 2.14). Stop following traditions of men invented 1500 years after Christ, and obey the Church which Jesus Christ founded and which Scripture calls the pillar and foundation of truth (I Tim. 3.15). Repent and follow Christ in his Church.
@drupes So be it. There are many who call themselves Catholics who don't want us to defend the truth or preach the Way. They say that the Church is not necessary for salvation, they distort and tear down the true message of the Gospel, thus interpreted by the ordinary and extraordinary Magesterium for 1900 years or more.

@brndurham There are only 2 acolytes, the others are just sitting in choir and preparing to be future servers as acolytes, thurifers or masters of the ceremony.
There are 5 Masses every Sunday with a total congregation of about 8,000 people. Only the Tridentine Latin Mass is said in this church. I think that the 8 Mass and 18.30 are a low Masses and the 9 and 10.30 are Missa Cantata and the 12.15 is a High Mass. The altar boys are young and, as the saying goes, boys will be boys. They will soon learn.
well, the older 5 in front assist the priest during mass. all the other young ones in back are optional & don't do much during the ceremony. at some churches like mine, there are barely enough servers to fill the 5 needed positions, so extra torch-bearers (which I assume the little ones to be) arent use except for big feast days like easter.
Furthermore, by these presents [this law], in virtue of Our Apostolic authority, We grant and concede in perpetuity that, for the chanting or reading of the Mass in any church whatsoever, this Missal is hereafter to be followed absolutely, without any scruple of conscience or fear of incurring any penalty, judgment, or censure, and may freely and lawfully be used.- Quo Primum
It may be his second or even third mass of the day. To say nothing of visiting, teaching etc. priests work much harder now than formerly as there ais a grave shortage of men willing to put themselves through seminary.

One reason that very few priests will offer a Tridentine Mass is that very few know how to do it. No priest under 70 would have any personal experience with the Tridentine Mass, and many from that era are much older or deceased.
if you ask me, if I would be some parish priest I would ask the bishop's permission to allow one tridentine mass on a sunday, if for example on sunday there are 5 celebrations, 1 of them be celebrated high mass in Roman rite. therfore people who feel attached to this mass can attend this one the rest attend to which they want, like that every one is happy.
162ALAN162 Yes, the exocummications. I do know about the SSPV which split from the SSPX some time ago. I was wondering if any other ruptures have happened since the excommunications were lifted by Benedict XVI.
TenderTrap715 why worry about being with a modernist Rome who kills Cardinals for being Traditional? We know they are infested with Freemasons and homosexuals, so why join if they pose a risk on the True Faith being spread?
And here I am, 16 years later, still attending the TLM.
Hoping to God a Tidentine Latin Mass will be again celebrated in all the Catholic Church in the Philippines... Amen
The best priests whom I have known gravitated toward the Tridentine Mass. Let us pray that it may come back.
I miss the Tridentine Rite but I don’t think we will see it’s rebirth.
@@skylarjxdn7648 Actually, it is growing in leaps and bounds. Viva Cristo Rey!
This was 14 years ago. Thank God for the spread of Tradition
The processional organ melody is: Claude Gervaise - Deux Branles de Champagne
Thumbs up so everyone can see!

YES! Thank You Lord for hearing my prayer that my local parish will be having a Tridentine Mass this Jan 20! Deo Gratias!

I almost cried while watching this. It is so beautiful. NOW THIS IS WORSHIP!!! All glory to God.

Essa é a Missa que nunca morrerá. Deo gratias.
Que dieu bénisse les prêtres de la FSSPX de nous avoir gardé cette messe sacrée.

God bless you Father, you have confessed your sin. The new Mass is sinful and it has led many away from our Lord, Christ Jesus.
Fr. Smith, I hope you are promoting the TLM and say this Mass exclusively! God bless you. I'm aware your comment is from 12 years ago (!!)
First time I see a latin mass. It's very beautiful and impressive.

I certainly have done so!
Xeres123, I don't know where this is but I've heard that mass attendence is very, very low in France. Especially in Paris where it's about 5%.

@DarkWaveSurfer123 Well, it is. Do you see a Deacon or Subdeacon anywhere? Nope. That was quick.
Does anyone know what the very first organ piece is called?
It's the church of St. Nicholas du Chardonnet in Paris.
Not a direct liturgical function, but I think it's interesting for those children to see what's happening in the H. Mass.

There is no war between the Society of St. Pius X and the traditional Vatican Holy See. Only seemingly. Hosanna Filio David!
