Why even with Musician Plus plan i don't have the option to set an additional primary aritst? I just have "featuring" and "remixer". The support is not helping ..
i have the same problem, but I've just seen that the "additional primary artist" button shows up only when you are releasing more than one song. I honestly ain't know the reason
I did a co release additional primary artist. For 2 to 3days now and it’s not showing on their Spotify 😢. The songs are just showing on mine. Can you help please🙏🏽
Isn't a Co-release and a Featured artist slightly different? I understood if you add a featured artist, like you say, the track won't appear on the main section of that artists profile however with a co-release it will appear on both. Co-release I thought meant having to name both artists equally next to each other in the Artist/Band section in your distributor e.g. distrokid and not adding them in the featured artist section
Let's say hypothetically if I were to release a collaboration album, is there a way to add a solo song to the album with *just* one artist, or does it *have* to display both artists names? I know I'm commenting on a 2+ year old video but if anyone has the answer let me know!
What about a Joint Album w Solo tracks? I’m having trouble uploading 5 tracks. 3 with both of us on it, 1 with just him and another with just me. How do I get the project to upload under both of our names & upload the solo tracks in 1 package?
@@adenojo8609 sadly no, I was told by my DSP a release of that particularity is likely possible thru submission via record label & not thru the normal means. Could be wrong tho!
@@arahmis I use CD Baby, but essentially the project would be the three of you as primary artists, and when you do the songs with fewer ppl on them, just leave their names off of those specific tracks and you should be good
@@arahmisThere is album level and then track level registering. Album level "Album artists and Album title" would be the three of you as primary artists, but track level would just be whatever combination of you are on that specific track, listed as primary artists
I’m tryna figure this out because im going thru the same problem. Its a collab project but 2 solo songs are mines and 2 are his and 4 are joint and i cant specific the solo songs
hey dude - when you merged those previously released collab singles (with primary collab artists) into one album for you, how did you make sure that those songs didn't create a duplicate, and that the stream counts transferred over, before deleting the initial "single"? THANKS!!
Does anyone have experience with uploading a collab single (artist name: artist1 & artist2) and afterwards trying to add it to an album (artist name: artist1). I´m experiencing big metadata issues with that atm. It is possible to add primary artists to each song of a album, but it is not possible to add primary artists to a single for collaboration. That messes up the meta data i guess. Any ideas how to fix? 🥲
I know you have the Musician Plus plan with a few more artist slots, but you've done a LOT of Co-Releases... How do you do that many co releases with so many different artists with only a few extra slots?
I have this same question. I don't want to pay for an extra artist permanently when I will only do one collab with them. Someone mentioned the other artist could distribute the same track with the same ISRC code but I'm not sure how that would work?
@@brettford946 One thing to note is that if you use an artist slot for a corelease, that's final. You also can NOT use the ISRC code on another DK account. The song would have to be removed from the original creators account, and then uploaded through a different distributor. You can't have the same song reuploaded through different DK accounts.
@@GRAFIVERSACE to my understanding you have to sacrifice basically. If you want it as an album track it will no longer show as a co release but if you have it as a co release it won’t be on your album. You have to decide which is more important to you. I decided not to include it on my album.
@@StorytellinJordan thank u!! I will try one more thing: Changing the single from a collab to a track with feat. Artists. Then uploading the track to my Album with primary artists (same isrc). I dont want to Lose plays :3 if this wont work i will delete the single i guess
I have the musician plus plan with all my artist slots full. I can still add primary artist when I drop albums
When you click upload, does it go through?
@@retroklub_tv yeah, it does. Ive never had an issue adding primary artist on EPs or albums.
@@FoePoundProduction thats good to know, i thought it was different !!

So glad you made this a video. I couldn’t figure this out for the longest time of dropping on Distro. Thank you 17!🙏🏼
Of course bro !!
I wish it was this simple with singles...

It probably made a new account
do both artists have to release or can only one artist release and the track will still show on both profiles
