Well it really does sound easier than I thought. Binder for that kind of operation is the Best! When we were buying our farm house we were applying for a morgage too. But the lady from bank was the best. She told me all needed steps/documents I put it into checklist and that helped a lot. Our realtor lady was also super nice. The house was on the market for 2+years and apparently we were the first people the owners liked. We still keep in touch with them. Elderly couple moved close by to be closer to their children. Thanks for the video and I am interested in seeing more of the house and garden
Congrats on your new home and many thanks for a great video! Your tips have given me a great starting point, as I'm planning on moving to Italy in the coming months. PS - I love your binder!
Thank you so much for your simple explanation of the whole process. I've been in research mode for over a year, but it's always reassuring to hear it all again, especially from such a delightful woman. 🙏
@@joslattery591 Haha yay! That's a great idea, they're just so darn hard to film haha :)I love making videos on veganims though... so you've just inspired me!
Hi Saga, thanks for sharing your buying process. I am about to start a similar journey in the Marche region. Loved the bloopers at the end of video. Bouna fortuna!
Hey, Thanks for the info, I live in the Netherlands and am a tenant. Initially, I didn't mind renting, but We are tired of it now. Unfortunately because of work, we have to live here, but don't take me wrong I love the city where I live and its people. I could start trying to get a holiday home. Saludos Karen
Hi Saga, thank you for this very helpful video to anyone wanting to buy a house in Italy! I was actually looking into a house there a few months ago, but I kind of let it go as it seemed a bit scary (like you mentioned, scams) to do long distance. I have also thought about a house in Sweden~so different of course, but I think it would be so amazing to live where my ancestors did. I will at least visit there, and Italy too. Both places are at the top of my travel lists. I always find it awesome that so many people in Europe speak multiple languages! In America, most people only speak English fluently. That's me too, as I only know a little Spanish, and some words in both Swedish and Norwegian. It makes me feel a little bit stupid. I hope to learn to speak Swedish quite well, if I can find time to study. One more thing for now, is thank you too for making me laugh~your bloopers at the end were somehow particularly funny this time~looking so very forward to watching your house being restored, and turning into your home sweet home~sending hugs and love! 🥰💖💘
Oh how interesting! I think a house in Sweden would be so peaceful. I’m not sure if it’ll be available, but if you go to www.svtplay.se there’s a new tv show called “Madame Deemas underbara resa” and it’s mainly in English! It’s about a Dubai superstar who’s buying a house in Sweden! And thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for real super valuable info! It’s hard to find proper info on TH-cam. It’s mostly scam and people want to sell something or unite unrealistic! Tank you and all the best!
Great video thank you. We are almost there. My husband and I are also looking to buy a house in Italy and we are going in august to get a feeling of the towns. We narrowed it down to 3 parts of Italy but I will take a look at Liguria.
@@SagaJohanna Awww this made me so happy!! I also feel like we're friends (i don't think it's weird) and i'm SO glad you feel that way too!!! I'm really good thank you, much happier now I've seen this ❤🧡💛
It would be great if we could be neighbors. My beloved and beautiful apartment in Rome is for sale, which is painful, but I feel it has to be done. Then either I get back and buy something in Sweden, although part of me is juggling and reluctant due to what I hear in the news on a daily basis, or somewhere in Italy, which I am also reluctant for some reasons. I have been doing everything by myself, with no help and I am confused about the future, but that's how it is. I look forward to see how you will transform your beloved place through time. 🌸
Wow so useful thanks so much for all those information 🙏 I have the same project as you but we are thinking about Abruzzo for now. I wanted to ask you about the residence if it was easy for your husband to obtain it. I’m in the same boat, I’m from Switzerland and my husband from outside of Europe (Colombia) if you can give me a tip or 2 or make a video about your process would be amazing! Thanks and I love your house 🥰
Oh how wonderful! Thank you 🙏We were planning on Abruzzo first actually! It’s beautiful. Yes, we’re currently on the residency path. So far no issues, apart from the stress of it lol. But my husband is allowed to live here with me, and we’re currently getting his visa. For now getting the original marriage certificate (or like in Sweden where we don’t have it, a copy signed) plus translated was the most important document! I’ll make a video too though :)
Hej my wondering Angel! haha I am glad you both are doing well and settling down. Thanks for sharing! Just curious, why Italy, as to Sweden or another northern country? KRAM
If you purchased a house in Italy, the notary must have asked you to declare that you can speak and understand the Italian language. If you do not speak Italian, you must sign a "procura" (power of attorney) to a translator that will assist you during the deed process with the notary.
Thank you Saga I have been in the property business most of my career so very interesting. If you back out of the deal during the process could you lose the 10% deposit? Are there energy ratings in Italy and Sweden such as the Energy Performance Certificate in England? Wish you the best with your new house.
@@SagaJohanna Yes the Energy result would be very poor for you but actually stone walls are good at keeping the house cooler in Summer, warmer in winter.
Thank you for all the information, you are very precise and relevant in giving the information. How do I contact you madam. We are very keen to buy a house in Italy
This is very helpful, thank you so much! It is my dream to buy a house in the Italian alps. I'm a bit hesitant though because of the current political situation, Meloni and her far right party come to mind. I'm curious about your thoughts on this. Are you worried about them changing voting laws, controlling journalism, discriminating against women, LGBTQ people and foreigners,...?
My experience is that the country side is very much sheltered from the politics, which I find so nice. However, it must be said that I worry less because I’m in the privileged position of being able to move back home to Sweden and live with my dad in case something terrible were to happen. In general though, I’d also say that this is the trajectory for all of Europe, including Sweden, and we can only work to change it!
Thanks for taking the time to answer! Unfortunately you are right about this being a European phenomenon. I guess I could also go back to Germany anytime. Still, I'd feel a lot better about this if the political situation were different.
Hi, thank you. My real estate agent was specific to my area, so I don’t want to disclose that sorry. However, I recommend finding your agents through idealista ☺️
Congratulations! Wishing your family the very Best! Take Care
